Tour of Lake Paladru

A day's walk, quite lovely and varied. You start by going through the Grand Platon Forest, then going along the south-east bank of the lake with beautiful views over the lake. You change banks and go along the Feydelière and Véronnière marshes ('Marais' - protected sites). The return is via the north-west bank of the lake with beautiful views over Chartreuse and, if the weather is clear, Mont Blanc.
The Cirque de Saint-Même waterfall

From Saint-Pierre-d'Entremont, this beautiful walk leads to the source of the Guiers-Vif, follows the course of the torrent, passes through hamlets and reveals the large clearing of the Cirque de Saint-Même.
The Cirque de Saint-Même is a very popular spot, attracting families in search of fresh air in the summer months. Hikers will find a little more freshness and tranquillity as they climb towards the Cascade du Guiers-Vif.

An aerial walk with breathtaking views.
The Gorges du Gorgonnet

This hike will take you into the charming Gorges du Gorgonnet. It is a family-friendly route. However, caution is advised. Although the trail is wide and comfortable, there are no guardrails in some places, so keep an eye on children. At the end of the gorges, they can enjoy a natural swimming pool with particularly clear (and cold) water.
The "Aulp du Seuil"

The "Passage de l'Aulp du Seuil" ("Aulp du Seuil" passing): this hike is one of the most beautiful hikes of the Chartreuse massif.

Magnificent panorama of the Chartreuse, with views of Mont Blanc, Mont Aiguille and the Vercors.
Alloix waterfalls from Montalieu

This is a short, unusual walk that follows the Alloix torrent. Curious walkers will spend more time admiring the work of the water than walking. This walk can end with a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets of the old village or, as the locals say, "on the paths of yesteryear", where local markings will guide you.
The hamlet of Les Monts and the Gorges du Gorgonnet

Please note: due to a major landslide, this hike is currently not possible.
You start by walking along the Isère river through walnut trees. You then climb up the foothills of the Vercors, before returning via the Gaffe footbridge and the wild, steep-sided Gorgonnet gorges.

Villard-de-Lans: From Les Clots to Col Vert, return via Combe Charbonnière

Climb from the very pretty spot called Les Clots towards the Col Vert and descend via the Combe Charbonnière, a scree slope that is a little tricky to navigate. View of the Belledonne massif from the Col.
This allows you to get a good view of the Vercors landscapes and enjoy the variety of the mid-mountain terrain.
Not to be attempted in winter! Between 6 and 7, there is a high risk of avalanches, especially towards the Combe de la Charbonnière.
Le Grand Som from the Col du Cucheron

This is definitely the easiest and shortest way to climb the Grand Som.
Caution for those prone to vertigo: between (2) and (3), the walk becomes a climb in places. The passages are often narrow and can be daunting.
From La Molière to Pas de Bellecombe

Please note: a hiker has informed us that in summer, at weekends, access to the plateau is restricted: you must take a shuttle bus (or a chairlift, which is quite far away).

It takes only an hour and offers a circuit with beautiful views of the Matheysine lakes and the surrounding mountains.
Emparis Plateau Circuit

This is a route best enjoyed in a group of hikers or with your family, as the elevation gain is relatively low. However, it is a walk that will allow you to admire the scenery and walk along the edge of the crevasse. Be careful though, you are in the mountains and there are no safety barriers, so caution is advised. Discover edelweiss, marmots and gentian flowers and enjoy the immensely beautiful landscape!
For the more adventurous, you can start from the village of Besse on theGR®54to arrive at the same starting point.

In addition, this route takes you to the Pas du Berlioz (very beautiful view of the lake) and the Pont de Brion. It is hardly any longer than taking the boat, as you don't need to go all the way to the pier, which is quite far away. However, part of the route is a return trip.

This moderately hilly route will allow you to discover the typical landscape of the Royans. Through meadows and walnut groves, this loop will also allow you to appreciate the charms of the villages of Saint-André-en-Royans and Pont-en-Royans (medieval streets, hanging houses, banks of the Bourne) after crossing a neighbourhood called "Le Paradis".
