Park at the Charmette chalet car park.
(S/E) Take the path up to the left (south-west) towards the Col d'Hurtières. The path is marked and climbs gently through the forest.
(1) Take a path on the right, marked by a brown sign for "Goulet d'Hurtières". From there, there are no more signs for the climb to Goulet d'Hurtières, but just follow the fairly well-marked path, which now climbs a little more steeply through the forest. There are a few chasms near the path, so make sure children don't get too close. A little higher up, the path widens. Continue climbing.
(2) At a crossroads with no signposts, leave the forest path descending to your left and continue straight ahead and up the hill. This is the only crossroads without a sign on the route.
(3) A little further on, after a short flat section, keep an eye on your left for the sign indicating the path leading to Goulet d'Hurtières.
(4) Once you reach Goulet, you can start enjoying the view of the Grande Sure! Go down the few hairpin bends: be careful, the path is a bit narrow and can become more difficult in bad weather! Then stay on the path that continues along the mountainside towards the north and the Col de la Sure, leaving the paths that go in the opposite direction towards the south on your left. From there, the signposts resume and will be present until the end.
(5) At the Col de la Sure, turn right for a short, steep climb to the Col de la Grande Vache.
(6) At the Col de la Grande Vache, begin the descent, which starts as a trail and then widens into a track. The descent is quite long and there are quite a few stones, but it is not difficult and is signposted and marked with panels all the way. Return to the car park at the start (S/E).
