A leisurely stroll in the hills above Herbeys with a magnificent view of the Vercors.

This short hike (walk) is not far from the city but in the heart of the countryside, allowing you to discover a rural aspect of the Grenoble metropolitan area as well as some beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. This hike is accessible by public transport on line 65 of the TAG network. Get off at the "Brié église" stop.

This circular route takes you around the Quatre Seigneurs hill, offering a variety of breathtaking views of the nearby city of Grenoble and the Grésivaudan valley.

On the outskirts of the capital of the Alps, a circular route starting from Eybens provides access to the Fort de Montavie overlooking Grenoble. This is more of a walk than a hike, offering remarkable views of the three mountain ranges surrounding the Drac and Isère valleys: Belledonne, Chartreuse and Vercors.

This gentle walk not only takes you along the Haute-Jarrie Nature Reserve and its reed beds, but also allows you to admire beautiful landscapes of the Vercors and Belledonne mountain ranges and stroll through the Haute-Jarrie forest with its chestnut and birch trees. The walk can be lengthened or shortened.

Among the routes available near the city of Grenoble, here is a relatively short one with a reasonable elevation gain, which will give you an overview of the mountains surrounding the city. The route varies between forest and meadows.

The Grenoble metropolitan area has developed a Frange Verte (Green Belt) to the south, bringing together several walking trails that are popular with everyone and offer views of the mountains. This route takes you along the Frange Verte in Échirolles, up the Combe de la Gouderie to the Étang de Jarrie-Le-Haut, then down the Voie Romaine, which no longer exists today. The route is classified as easy, although the climb up the Gouderie may put some people off. Fortunately, it is relatively short.

This circular will take you to the heights of Murianette, with beautiful views of Grenoble and the Grésivaudan valley. The climb is quite steep, but the reward of superb views is well worth it! You will pass through Les Molinières and La Pérérée without crossing them, then cross Les Combes and the Combeloup National Forest before reaching Pressembois. All these places are charming and the trails are bucolic!

This short walk gives you an overview of the village and the Champagnier plateau. After the Saut du Moine, you can enjoy views of the Jarrie hillside with the Belledonne mountain range and the Chartreuse mountains in the background.

A short, gentle snowshoe walk to do after a good fall of fresh snow.The first part is almost flat and leads to the Refuge de Pré-Gaudet. Then the path climbs a little before descending into the undergrowth alongside a small stream.

This hike can be enjoyed in any season to discover the Vizillois landscape, the Romanche valley and the surrounding mountains. Very easy with a reasonable elevation gain, it is accessible to most people.

From Le Recoin, there are easy routes to visit the Robert Lakes. This description deviates slightly from the most commonly used trails, particularly from the Brèche Sud to reach Lac des Pourettes.

A hike to Robert Lakes in Belledonne, which requires a good sense of direction and experience of walking off-trail. At the start of the season, a slightly steep section requires the use of crampons if there is still snow.

We're going to walk on the ocean! Or how to tour a ski resort without seeing the slopes, but with a few beautiful lakes and a summit that is much more impressive than the famous Croix de Chamrousse.

This is an easy hike on well-marked paths, suitable in all seasons, which will allow you to discover the surrounding mountains, the small village of Montchaboud clinging to the hillside, and the Château de Bon Repos, which hosts many cultural events.

This hike is not difficult, although the climb is sustained, and will allow you to discover a unique view of the village of Vizille, the castle grounds and the surrounding area. An information board will tell you about the history of Vizille and its geography.

This hike leaves the traditional, well-travelled tracks of the Arselle plateau to follow the domain's snowshoe trails and discover the steep, unmarked paths of the Lauze forest or along the cliffs of the Rocher de l'Homme. A wild landscape and magnificent views of the Romanche valley. The hike ends with a large loop in the Séchilienne forest to recover from your efforts. (Please read the practical information). A challenging hike starting from Roche Béranger to discover the Robert Lakes via the Brèche Sud, passing by the Lac des Vallons and returning via the Croix de Chamrousse. Magnificent, wild landscapes. Please note that there are rocky passages to cross.

This magnificent loop trail starts at the Gâte car park and climbs through the woods to the viewpoint of the impressive and beautiful Cascade de l'Oursière waterfall, then follows the Ruisseau du Doménon stream through a welcoming grassy valley, ideal for a short rest before tackling the climb up a scree slope. At the top, you will find the stream again, which flows peacefully through an alpine meadow in a picture-postcard setting. Once you have crossed a valley, you will discover the charming Lac Merlat in a high mountain atmosphere. Take a short detour to the Refuge de la Pra before continuing on to admire the series of superb lakes: Claret, Longet, Bernard and Léama. After crossing a few rocky outcrops, you come to a cute little lake and then the three Robert Lakes at the foot of the Croix de Chamrousse. The descent from the Brèche Robert Nord leads to the Lac des Pourettes in a marshy basin and finally a passage through the forest brings you back to the car park.

This is a magnificent circuit in the Belledonne massif that will take you to the shores of the Robert lakes, a site well known to skiers who visit the Chamrousse resort. The difficulty is not technical, but should be taken into account due to the steep slopes in places and the particular nature of this mountain range, which is often shrouded in fog.

This very pretty circular loop up to Lac David via the Cascade de l'Oursière allows you to first enjoy the various Pra lakes (Bernard, Longet, Claret) and then make a beautiful traverse under the Jasse Bralard peaks. Throughout the traverse, you can enjoy a magnificent view overlooking the city of Grenoble below.

A beautiful hike that climbs up to Lac Claret via the impressive Cascade de l'Ousrière waterfall and Lacs Bernard and Longet. It offers a beautiful overview of the Lacs de la Pra, accompanied by a superb view of a large part of the peaks of the Belledonne massif. However, it is quite a long hike.

This hike takes you to a series of lakes set like precious stones along the path from the Oursière waterfalls to the Col de la Pra, between wave-cut rocks and alpine flora. This route, which is partly off-trail, is particularly treacherous: there is no way to keep to a schedule, as the fascinating landscapes compel you to linger and contemplate. A small part of the route is off-trail but there are no difficulties with orientation.

Grenoble, capital of the Alps, is well known. Climbing 400 metres from the centre of the city reputed to be the flattest in France is less common. We suggest a slightly challenging walk to the military memorial on Mont Jalla and, on the way back, discovering the "380 steps".

A short walk taking in various historical sites in Grenoble. Very easy and accessible, the route allows you to discover the historic centre and the squares that have marked Grenoble. With numerous cafés along the route, allow more than just walking time.

The city has developed the western ascent of the Bastille, which is little known except to a few runners. This ascent is accessible via the Route de Clémencières. The proposed descent takes you back to the Jardin des Dauphins, but you can take another usual route (Fontaine du Lion or Porte Saint-Laurent, or even the Grenoble cable car, nicknamed "les Bulles").The slope is quite steep but safe. You will pass by some unusual views of the valley and the Grottes de Mandrin, a defensive structure of the Bastille's glacis.This hike should not be attempted in rainy weather or up to 24 hours afterwards, as the ground is slippery. The return trip is not recommended.

A beautiful, physically demanding route in the hills above Grenoble with impressive views. Quite a long route, with the possibility of running on several sections. Be careful, however, as the route on the La Tronche side is a bit chaotic.

Well known to Grenoble residents, this hike offers superb views of all the surrounding mountains, including Chartreuse, Vercors, Grandes Rousses, Taillefer and Belledonne. This short hike allows you to discover the local heritage: the site of the old gypsum quarries, the hamlet of Saint-Sauveur and the ruins of Saint-Michel monastery. It also offers a breathtaking view of the Drac valley, the Vercors and the Grenoble conurbation.

A path leading to the Bastille de Grenoble was built in 2025. From the houses of Saint-Martin-Le-Vinoux, you can quickly reach the woods, where the route winds between oak trees and small scree slopes. The work has made the path easier and more user-friendly, but the climb remains challenging. At the Fort, admire the panoramic view of the Belledonne, Vercors and Chartreuse mountain ranges. Descend towards Porte de France and Parc Guy Pape.

This first stage takes you on an assault on the Vercors, gradually leaving the urban environment behind you.

This hike takes you on a loop around Lake Crozet, covering several types of terrain (scree, a mountain pass, forest, lakes). It does not present any significant technical difficulties (climbing, exposed passages), but there are some sections in full sun and a few steep slopes.

Assez fréquentée, la randonnée au Grand Colon se prolonge habituellement par la descente sur le charmant Lac Merlat, pour rejoindre le refuge et le Col de la Pra, puis par le Vallon Mercier, le Lac Crozet. Le parcours, ici proposé, est une alternative moins belle, mais plus secrète, présentant un raccourci à cette descente classique. Du Grand Colon un sentier longe une éminence rocheuse, légèrement plus haute (cote 2402), située au Nord-Est, puis passe un col pour descendre un pierrier encaissé, entre La Roche Fendue et le Galeteau, avant de retrouver le Vallon Mercier et le Lac Crozet.

A stunning hike that allows you to discover two gems of the Belledonne massif that are almost never visited: the Lac du Bois and Lac du Bœuf are little jewels off the beaten track of the massif. The Pic du Grand Domènon, the highest point of the walk, is a magnificent viewpoint that is much less visited than the Croix de Belledonne, offering views of the Bauges, Mont Blanc, the Grandes Rousses, the Oisans, the Dévoluy, the Taillefer, the Vercors and the Chartreuse and, of course, Belledonne and its lakes. Please note: this hike is on the borderline between very difficult and extremely difficult.

A pretty lake in a rocky landscape, overlooking the Grésivaudan valley. From the lake, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Chartreuse mountains.

This is a very wild hike, half of which takes place in valleys completely off the beaten track, exploring the playground of the chamois, mouflons and ibex that abound in Belledonne. The lakes of Bâton and Bœuf, nestled in the rounded rocks opposite the peaks of Oisans, are the highlights of the hike.

A short and easy walk on the ridge of Mont-Saint-Eynard, above Grenoble, offering beautiful panoramic views of the city, the Belledonne mountain range and, at the end, the Sappey valley. This walk is a local classic and can be very busy.

Ascent of the Petit and Grand Taillefer, the first peaks of the Belledonne range, clearly visible from the city of Grenoble. The view from the summit is magnificent, taking in Mont Blanc, the peaks of the Écrins Massif (Barre des Écrins, Roc de la Muzelle, etc.) as well as the Aiguilles d'Arves to the east and the peaks of the Vercors and Dévoluy to the west.

This is a short, easy walk, perfect for after lunch or before dinner, which will delight young and old alike. For adults, chatting will be the ideal accompaniment to this walk, while children can throw stones into the Vence or skip them across the water.

Two central viewpoints offer views of the French Northern Alps, from Mont Blanc to the limestone foothills of Chartreuse and Vercors, Belledonne, Grandes Rousses, Cerces, Oisans and Dévoluy. Numerous lakes dot the large "tundra" plateau separating Taillefer from Grand Galbert like sapphires. A peaceful exploration of one of the most beautiful alpine tundras, between sapphire-coloured lakes and sheep-shaped rocks planted in blueberry bushes, on the plateau separating Grand Galbert from Taillefer. The ascent and descent to Lac Fourchu is on very good paths. On the plateau, the route meanders with the view and adapts to the mood of hikers eager for space and light.
