Saint-Pierre-de-Chérennes walks

This hike will take you along beautiful paths and trails to discover a small part of the forests around Saint-Pierre-de-Chérennes. Easy to access, this hike will amaze you with its diverse landscapes.

You start in the charming medieval village of Beauvoir-en-Royans and head to La Sône. On the way there, you take the kingfisher trail along the Isère. This is a short day's walk combining culture and nature. September 2020: several hikers have reported significant deterioration of the trail along the Isère River. Some sections may even be dangerous.

This hike will take you on a journey. At the start, you will have to tackle the foothills of the Vercors, but once you reach Montchardon, you will have arrived in Tibet. It is best to do this hike on a Sunday so that you can visit the Tibetan Studies Centre.

This hike is best done in the morning in winter, when the sun (when it's out) plays with the reflections in the icy branches. The boxwoods form large snowballs and give off their scent.

A circular walk through the Forêt des Coulmes in the Vercors, amongst beech, spruce and boxwood trees. A walk suitable for all seasons. There are numerous karstic caves near the route; do not hesitate to take a detour to admire them, taking care to do so safely.

This hike is best suited to experienced hikers. Indeed, the paths on this hike are not always marked and nature has reclaimed certain sections. Nevertheless, it remains a very beautiful hike that is best undertaken with a GPS.

The Forêt des Coulmes offers an endless variety of route combinations. This circular loop takes you to visit the Grotte des Bœufs, then leaves the beaten track to follow the edge of the state-owned forest until climbing off-trail onto the Serre Coton ridge, before descending back to Les Croisettes and continuing along a well-marked path to Patente and the orientation table overlooking Malleval, before returning to Le Faz.

This forest hike will take you to the edge of the Presles cliffs, where you can discover some spectacular scenery. Not for those who are afraid of heights!

A walk between the countryside and the town of Saint-Marcellin, which can be shortened or extended as desired. You will cross the Cumane, pass under the viaduct and visit the allotment gardens. On the ridges of Saint-Marcellin, you will be treated to a superb view.

A pleasant walk in magnificent surroundings along the Nan, returning through the Malême forest to where it all began, in the pretty little village of Cognin-les-Gorges. You can enjoy the coolness of the river in summer.

Pretty steep-sided gorge through which the Nan torrent flows. You can take a dip in the torrent in summer. A wooded trail that is lovely to stroll along. This hike can be split into two parts. In summer, only the gorges are interesting, as the Gerlette waterfall may be dry. Best done in spring when the waters are flowing freely.
