Villard-de-Lans walks

Starting from Villard-de-Lans, meet a herd of ibex at Pas de l'Œille.

A very pleasant half-day walk taking you past the Roybon refuge hut and the private Fauge hut. This circular route, which is almost entirely in the forest, allows you to discover the tranquillity of this part of the Vercors.

This medium-altitude hike is ideal for discovering the flora and fauna of our beautiful mountains. Alternating between forest, meadow, scree and the coolness of the streamside. This short hike in the pretty Fauge valley, located very close to Villard-de-Lans, is a great opportunity to walk with the family or get back into shape in the spring.

You start from a place called Les Clots and head to the magnificent Vallon de la Fauge. At the bottom, you climb up the Combe Charbonnière, reach the Pas de l'Œille and look out over Prélenfrey at 1,960 m and the Lac de Notre-Dame de Commiers on the Grenoble valley side. The return route passes through Grande Combe, offering spectacular views, and follows the tracks down to 1,350 metres. You return to Les Clots via L'Aversin. A feast for the eyes, sometimes with chamois!

A beautiful snowshoe hike above Villard-de-Lans, starting from the Clots car park and returning to Lac des Prés. Beautiful scenery, stunning snow-covered forests, a fairly easy route, and the peace and beauty of the snow-covered fields. The only challenge was a steep climb to reach the lake and then a steep descent. Be careful of ice patches.

Climb from the very pretty spot called Les Clots towards the Col Vert and descend via the Combe Charbonnière, a scree slope that is a little tricky to navigate. View of the Belledonne massif from the Col. This allows you to get a good view of the Vercors landscapes and enjoy the variety of the mid-mountain terrain. Not to be attempted in winter! Between 6 and 7, there is a high risk of avalanches, especially towards the Combe de la Charbonnière.

A challenging hike with the ascent of the second highest peak in the Vercors, the Grande Moucherolle (2,284 m).

The Gobert trail is very popular with hikers for its rich flora, which can be discovered all along the way between the Pic Saint-Michel crossroads and the Roybon hut. This almost horizontal section also offers a remarkable view of the Vercors plateau between Lans-en-Vercors and Villard-de-Lans.

This hike will take you along the Sentier Gobert, famous for its rich flora, which is in full bloom during June and July. This mountain trail also offers splendid views of the Lans-en-Vercors plain and Villard-de-Lans.

This beautiful loop trail starts at La Conversaria, a hamlet in Villard-de-Lans. The trail through the woods climbs to the Roybon Refuge and then up rocky slopes to the Col Vert. It crosses to the opposite side to follow the eastern ridge of the Vercors. Along the way, a winding trail climbs the slope below the Roc du Cornafion. A short climb takes you to the ridge of the secondary summit, then through a gap to the summit, where you can enjoy a magnificent, vertiginous panorama. The return to the eastern balcony of the Vercors is in the opposite direction. The trail reaches the Col de l'Arc and drops down the western slope to the starting point.Please follow the recommendations in the practical information carefully.

A short walk, partly through the woods, following the Ruisseau de la Fauge stream and discovering its pretty waterfall from the Glovettes car park. You can also start from the Clos car park, which will shorten the walk and avoid the sunny, tarmac section (but you will miss out on the beautiful view...).

A pleasant short route that can be done on foot with children or on snowshoes, depending on the season.

A very pleasant circular in the Bois Barbu area. These woods, located opposite the Villard-de-Lans resort, offer beautiful snowshoe walks, made even easier by excellent signage. The proposed circular is No. 2, which connects the Auberge de la Glisse in Bois Barbu to the Malaterre Refuge.

A lovely circular, not always on the beaten track, which will allow you to discover most of the many types of landscapes that the Vercors has to offer: forest, alpine meadows, rocks and beautiful panoramic views.

A beautiful circular route between the forest, the Gros Martel viewpoint and a walk in the sky (Gorges de la Bourne cliff, aerial trail).

Although located within a ski resort, this circular route avoids deforested and lunar landscapes as much as possible. The ascent is mostly through forest on little-used tracks. The crossing of the north-west ridge is superb, culminating in the magnificent Arche de la Fenêtre. The aerial descent of the east ridge leads to the Col des Deux Sœurs.The return journey to the Pas de l'Œil is via a little-used path that continues along the foot of the Gerbier ridges. Via the Combe Charbonnière, the route joins theGR®®91, which takes you back to the Balcon de Villard.

An easy walk for the whole family through the Méaudret gorges, following part of the Via Vercors. The path runs alongside or overlooks the river. It is even possible to take a dip in two or three places. The southern part allows you to enjoy the sun and the northern part the coolness of the undergrowth.Can be done on foot or by mountain bike.

Family walk in the woods. With no difficult sections, this route is also accessible by mountain bike, and the diversity of trails in the area means that you can enjoy many sections in complete solitude with nature. The route follows the marked snowshoe trail no. 2 in the opposite direction, which in winter connects the Auberge de la Glisse (starting point for cross-country skiing) to the Auberge de Malaterre.

The hike starts at the hamlet of Les Blancs near Lans and takes us to Pic St Michel via the Chemin des Anciens and the Col de l'Arc. The return journey is via Les Allières and the Pierre Berchue viewpoint.

A very short walk, but the ruins of Valchevrière are the remains of one of the key sites of the Resistance in Vercors. This hamlet served as a camp for the Resistance fighters and was burned to the ground on 23 July 1944 by the Nazis. Only the chapel was spared. Allow 1 to 1½ hours for the visit to the hamlet.

An easy snowshoe route to the summit of Gros Martel in the forest overlooking the pleasant village of Méaudre.

This walk leads to Lac de la Moucherolle and the Fauge valley. This hike allows you to discover a multitude of landscapes ranging from a mineral world to pastures and forests with beautiful panoramic views of the entire northern Vercors.

A short hike, mainly through the woods, to discover some of the geological curiosities of the Vercors: the Corrençon-en-Vercors glacier and the Barre aux Chèvres (natural cavities carved out of the limestone by water). With some beautiful panoramic views from the eastern balcony of the Vercors

A trail at the gateway to the Vercors plateaus, with the outward journey on theGR®91and the return via La Coinchette. Most of the route is through woodland, offering views of the Vercors ridges from Darbounouse. The return journey is partly off the beaten track, before rejoining the forest paths via the Baraque Guillet, Les Auberges and La Fleur du Roy.

Halfway between the North Pole and the equator, this is a fun route for everyone. It is possible to do it on a mountain bike, but be careful in the second part.

This easily accessed summit is located on a ridge between the "Vallée de la Gresse" and the Vercors plateau. It offers a breathtaking view on Belledonne, Les Rousses and a bit further Les Ecrins.

This fairly varied loop between Corrençon and Herbouilly (two of the gateways to the Nordic ski area with Bois Barbu) takes you along wide forest tracks and more peaceful forest paths. In places (at the start and finish), it runs alongside the golf course and roller ski tracks. It reaches its highest points at Pas de l'Âne and Pas de la Sambue. It passes the Roybon inn and the Herbouilly cross-country ski centre before taking the Pas Saint-Martin path and crossing the Herbouilly plain. On the way back, don't miss the view of the Grande and Petite Moucherolle, the Tête des Chaudières and the ski slopes of Villard-de-Lans and Corrençon-en-Vercors.

A beautiful, uncrowded summit, reached by climbing up a wild valley and a path off the trail.

The Loubière forest covers the eastern slope of Corrençon, opposite the Grande Moucherolle. A visit here allows you to discover various natural and cultural attractions.

More of a walk than a hike, this double loop allows you to discover the large Allières plateau above Lans-en-Vercors. The route is clearly marked with signs at the various crossroads and is a great outing in winter for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

Leaving Corrençon, you will reach the Crête des Rochers de la Balme via theGR® trail at the start, then via a steeper climb to the summit.

Pas Ernadant is located on the ridges of northern Vercors, between Rochers de la Balme and Rocher du Playnet. The start of the route follows theGR® 91 "Traversée du Vercors" to Cabane de Carette, then the unmarked and little-used route allows you to discover the wilder side of this region.

A pleasant, easy family walk through clearings and forests, at the gateway to the Hauts-Plateaux Nature Reserve. A renowned Nordic site, with an 18-hole golf course, a roller ski track, a professional shooting range and numerous marked trails, this area is a delight for hikers, golfers, biathletes, mountain bikers and runners alike.

A very pretty, easy hike that can be done as a round trip with the family.

Family hike offering a bird's eye view of Grenoble and a beautiful view of the Gerbier ridge.

One of the peaks bordering the Vercors Regional Park to the east. Relatively easy to access, in good weather it offers a wide panorama from Mont Blanc on your left to the Écrins massif via the Belledonne chain. The climb via the Combe Oursière is less frequented than via Les Allières. A well-shaded route for most of the way.

After crossing the Herbouilly plain, this circuit climbs up to the Pas de la Sambue and then joins the Château Julien plateau via the Malaterre karstic cave. Nestled in the heart of the northern Vercors, it offers a glimpse of a key site of the Resistance and the karstic landscape of the Vercors. Superb view from the Château Julien viewpoint.

A walk, rather than a hike, through the Herbouilly forest to a distinctive rock, the Vierge du Vercors.

A hike on the eastern flank of the Vercors above Lans-en-Vercors takes you to Le Moucherotte via the Vertige des Cimes, a footbridge that juts out two metres above the void. An easy hike offering spectacular views of all the surrounding mountains and Grenoble.

This hike offers magnificent views of Grenoble, the Belledonne massif, Mont Blanc, Chartreuse and Oisans. It can be done in the middle of an autumn afternoon to enjoy the sunset towards the (4), but bring a torch for the return journey and take extra care. 09/09/2024: Hiking is prohibited during the winter months (December to April inclusive) to respect the black grouse's quiet zone. An easy loop starting from the Lans-en-Vercors snow stadium to reach the summit of Moucherotte (on snowshoes or on foot). Caution: do not descend via the Combe de Saint-Nizier if visibility is poor. Stay on the path.
