Start on the D116a, the road that goes to Savel beach, just after the hairpin bend to the right. There is space to park in the hairpin bend.
(S/E) From the hairpin bend, follow the road downhill for a few dozen metres until you reach a track that branches off to the left (yellow signpost and sign: Passerelle du Drac). Take this track. Continue until you reach a crossroads with a path.
(1) Turn right, following the signs for Passerelle du Drac. You will soon reach the first of two footbridges, the one overlooking the Drac. Cross it to reach the left bank of the Drac.
(2) Immediately turn right onto a path, following the signs for Passerelle de l'Ebron. There are several crossroads, but the route is always well signposted. Continue until you reach the road to Villarnet. Follow it to the right for a few metres until you reach a crossroads.
(3) Don't miss this path, as it is quite discreet but always signposted. Take it on the left. Follow it until you reach the D34E junction after a short hill.
(4) Cross and follow the road to the left for a few metres, then take the small path that branches off to the right. Keep on this path, which descends very slightly and leads to the Ebron footbridge.
(5) Turn right and take another short but steeper descent to reach the Ebron footbridge. Cross it and continue to the left bank of the river until you reach a large crossroads.
(6) Leave the wide track and take the path on the left where a sign indicates the Pas du Berlioz. Follow this path until you reach the Pas du Berlioz: magnificent view of the lake.
(7) Continue west, following the ridge. Further on, you will come to a crossroads with a gravestone on the right.
(8) Change direction completely, heading south at 180°. Begin a zigzag descent to rejoin the D34 road below.
(9) Take it on the left, cut across the bend to rejoin the road.
Cross the Ebron on the road bridge. Go slightly uphill until you reach a crossroads with a path.
(11) Take it on the left. Immediately cross a small stream before heading into the forest towards the north. Return to the previous crossroads, the one overlooking the Ebron footbridge.
(5) Turn right and follow the same route as on the way out. Continue until you reach the car park on the D116a. You will soon rejoin the path you took on the way out, just before the Ebron footbridge. Turn right and retrace your steps, crossing the Drac footbridge again to return to the starting point (S/E).
A little tip: the start of points 5 and 6 is just opposite the hiking signposts (we went round in circles trying to find it).
