La Salette-Fallavaux walks

From the forecourt of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Salette, there is a view of the entire hike. An exceptional panorama. With the optional Gargas, it's nothing but happiness.

Hike to discover views of the main mountain ranges surrounding Valbonnais. A varied route through forests and alpine meadows, accessible to all average hikers.

Easy walk, 2/3 in the shade and 1/3 with beautiful views over the vast Drac valley and surrounding mountains.

This magnificent circular, in the Beaumont and Valbonnais mountains, towards the sanctuary of Notre-Dame-de la Salette, offers breathtaking views of the Oisans massif, the Dévoluy, the Obiou la Matheysine and, further away, the Vercors massif.

This hike is not marked, but it is easy to follow and the 360° view from the summit is magnificent.

From Le Lauvet, descend to La Chapelle-en-Valjouffrey. Then take the Sentier du Facteur trail, cross the Haute Vallée du Béranger nature reserve in Valsenestre, and finish on the GR®54B trail to Lac Labarre.

Visit to His Majesty the Obiou. From the Samblue ridges, there is a beautiful view of the Pellafol and Obiou plains.

Hike in Beaumont with the almost constant view of the Obiou Massif as your companion. The alternating tracks, paths and trails combine with woods and undergrowth, through the rural activities of yesteryear (mills, vineyards, etc.). This walk is suitable for all walkers, including families who are used to a bit of effort...

A lovely route between Valbonnais and Entraigues. This peaceful valley, surrounded by high peaks, allows us to discover the two villages and the 14th-century irrigation systems.

Magnificent view of the north face of Olan (3,563 m), accessed via a typical trough-shaped glacial valley. First, you pass the Pisse waterfall, then you enter this valley deeply carved out by glaciers before reaching the only refuge in the valley. You are facing the Olan with its 1,000-metre vertical wall, but there are still 300 metres to climb to reach the Col des Lauvets with its viewpoints.

A hike to discover a magnificent, fairly well-known and easily accessible waterfall. Then, and above all, a short hanging valley, shaped like a glacial cirque, much more secluded and rather wild.

Ethird stage involving the ascent of a pass with no major technical difficulty, though the gradient is steep in places and differs slightly from the route shown on the IGN map. From the top of the pass, there is a splendid view of the Col de la Muzelle, the Roche de la Muzelle and the Pic du Clapier du Peyron on either side, promising a beautiful stage for the following day. During the descent, you pass through a maze of large, intertwined slabs of slate clinging to the mountainside.

Hike in several stages: - The Orgues de Valsenestre (or "great library"), a geological curiosity with a multitude of perfectly aligned vertical strata. - The Col de Côte Belle with a panoramic view of the Font Turbat valley. - Return via the balcony path to the small suspended valley of Combe Oursière. - Finally, you cross a forest of "crooked" larch trees (larch trees deformed by the weight of snow). ... Take your time.Enjoy the view of the crushing foothills of Dévoluy and discover an unusual phenomenon: the resurgent source of Haute Gillarde and its confluence with La Souloise.

Splendid view of the mountain cirque culminating at the Roche de la Muzelle. Walk through the cool woods before arriving at a gallery of peaks in the Écrins. You will follow the Torrent du Béranger for two-thirds of the hike.

A short 10 km stage but with 1,400 m of elevation gain, featuring the very technical and rocky ascent of the Col de la Muzelle. It requires the utmost caution, especially with a heavy rucksack. A narrow passage between two magnificent mountains, the Roche de La Muzelle and the Pic du Clapier du Peyron. Throughout the ascent, you are surrounded by mountain ranges over 3,000 m high. From the pass, there is a splendid view of the rest of the Glacier de la Muzelle, the lake and the corridor leading down to Valsenestre.

At an altitude of 2,000 metres, ruined huts and an enclosure emerge from the ground. These stone shelters, built on a vast natural site, are well worth a visit. The remains of these dwellings transport us back to the forgotten history of a former pastoral past, where it is good to let your imagination run wild, following in the footsteps of those who came before, exploring their history and way of life.

A magnificent hike on vertiginous trails in the Dévoluy Massif, offering splendid panoramic views of the surrounding mountains throughout the entire route. A real breath of fresh air. Hikers beware: this route is for experienced hikers only and a helmet is mandatory. It is also advisable to only attempt this hike in good weather.

This fun and spectacular variation on the magnificent ascent of the Grande Tête de l’Obiou allows you to complete a circular loop, climbing up the splendid Cheminée du Petit Obiou wedged between the stone pillars of this wild summit, then squeezing through the two narrow passages on the east face of the Grand Obiou. A few short sections of easy climbing (maximum 3c) and a route largely off the beaten track lend the hike a sense of wild adventure.

A lovely, cool walk to a remarkable waterfall. On the way back, don't miss the viewpoint over the valley with the ruins of the Château du Serre de la Casse. There are still a few houses in Confolens. You can go further than the waterfall and reach (after a few hours!) the GR®54B ridge walk overlooking the Lauvitel.

From Lac Labarre, the route follows part of the GR®54B. You will cross the Col de la Romeïou, the Cabane de la Selle, then the Col du Paletas. From there, a wild hike along the ridges, passing by the Neyrard at an altitude of 2,796 m, will take you to Lac du Vallon.

A challenging and rugged hike beneath the ridges of Banc du Peyron and Moussière.

On the border between Dévoluy (Hautes-Alpes) and Isère, a lovely circular route along the Souloise where you’ll discover the Gillardes resurgences, look out over the Défilé de l’Infernet and cross a footbridge...

The Sommet de la Cavale does not claim to be on a par with its imposing neighbour, Le Coiro, which is 460 m higher. However, it remains a worthwhile destination, both for its wild and airy setting and for the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. The fairly sustained climb up this long ridge is richly rewarded by the magnificent viewpoint offered by the summit, which provides breathtaking views of the Valbonnais, Dévoluy, Matheysine and Vercors massifs and the high peaks of the Écrins.

This route takes you through forest and undergrowth for a long time, protecting you from the heat and any wind, and leads you to the foot of the Obiou. The 1,500 metres before the pass are on a wide track, exposed to the sun.The path is obvious, marked in yellow at the start, then in yellow and red (GRP®). The markings help you avoid taking the wrong path or trail, of which there are many on this route.Cows and vultures await you at the pass. The small additional loop offers a panoramic view of the turquoise waters of Lac du Sautet and the Trièves region, with Lac de Monteynard. (However, you can limit yourself to a return trip to the pass, which is 300 metres less in altitude). Take the opportunity to admire the Défilé de la Souloise and the Paroi des Voutes. In the distance, the Pic de Bure shows off its characteristic silhouette.
