Champagnier walks

This short walk gives you an overview of the village and the Champagnier plateau. After the Saut du Moine, you can enjoy views of the Jarrie hillside with the Belledonne mountain range and the Chartreuse mountains in the background.

This gentle walk not only takes you along the Haute-Jarrie Nature Reserve and its reed beds, but also allows you to admire beautiful landscapes of the Vercors and Belledonne mountain ranges and stroll through the Haute-Jarrie forest with its chestnut and birch trees. This is an easy hike on well-marked paths, suitable in all seasons, which will allow you to discover the surrounding mountains, the small village of Montchaboud clinging to the hillside, and the Château de Bon Repos, which hosts many cultural events.

Among the routes available near the city of Grenoble, here is a relatively short one with a reasonable elevation gain, which will give you an overview of the mountains surrounding the city. The route varies between forest and meadows.

The Grenoble metropolitan area has developed a Frange Verte (Green Belt) to the south, bringing together several walking trails that are popular with everyone and offer views of the mountains. This route takes you along the Frange Verte in Échirolles, up the Combe de la Gouderie to the Étang de Jarrie-Le-Haut, then down the Voie Romaine, which no longer exists today. The route is classified as easy, although the climb up the Gouderie may put some people off. Fortunately, it is relatively short.

This short hike allows you to discover the local heritage: the site of the old gypsum quarries, the hamlet of Saint-Sauveur and the ruins of Saint-Michel monastery. It also offers a breathtaking view of the Drac valley, the Vercors and the Grenoble conurbation.

A short walk in the Isles du Drac Nature Reserve for lovers of flora and fauna. Best done early in the morning or late in the evening to spot wildlife such as roe deer, does, foxes and herons.

This hike is accessible by public transport on line 65 of the TAG network. Get off at the "Brié église" stop.

A circular walk that passes through the Herbeys ridges and offers a splendid view of the start of the Belledonne range and Uriage Castle. You then pass through the Bois du Fournet above the Uriage valley and catch sight of the Dent de Crolles and Chamechaude. Return via the Montagne du Mulet and rejoin the Herbeys ridges.

This circular route takes you around the Quatre Seigneurs hill, offering a variety of breathtaking views of the nearby city of Grenoble and the Grésivaudan valley.

This hike can be enjoyed in any season to discover the Vizillois landscape, the Romanche valley and the surrounding mountains. Very easy with a reasonable elevation gain, it is accessible to most people.

A lovely walk in peaceful surroundings, ideal for families. Tracks, paths, trails and tarmac combine in the shade of the woodland for most of the route, where you won’t find the crowds.

On the outskirts of the capital of the Alps, a circular route starting from Eybens provides access to the Fort de Montavie overlooking Grenoble. This is more of a walk than a hike, offering remarkable views of the three mountain ranges surrounding the Drac and Isère valleys: Belledonne, Chartreuse and Vercors.

This hike allows you to discover mountain hamlets that were once abandoned and are gradually coming back to life.

This hike is not difficult, although the climb is sustained, and will allow you to discover a unique view of the village of Vizille, the castle grounds and the surrounding area. An information board will tell you about the history of Vizille and its geography.

Route via the hamlets of Monjean, Chachatier and Vaulnaveys. Pleasant scenery and the chance to discover old mountain hamlets. Much of the route has the advantage of being through woodland and in the shade on the western slope, allowing you to set off without being tied to a specific time. The downside of the walk is a bit (too much) of a tarmac surface. Not recommended for those with allergies.

This short hike or walk will allow you to discover one of the oldest hamlets in Claix, with its chapel and 16th-century houses. You will then walk along the Rocher de Comboire ridge with its viewpoint, from where you can enjoy a truly extraordinary view of the entire Grenoble conurbation as well as the Taillefer, Belledonne and Chartreuse ranges, stretching as far as Mont Blanc in good weather.

This is a short, easy hike on the outskirts of Grenoble, accessible by TAG bus, which will give you a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding mountains.
