Pommier-de-Beaurepaire walks

An easy route alternating between hills, forests, ponds and views of the mountains in the distance. A superb 360° panorama in the village of Pommiers-de-Beaurepaire.

In the heart of the Bonnevaux Forest, this is an easy, short walk with plenty of shade in summer. You will walk alongside several ponds.

A short walk in the heart of the Pajay plain, but which climbs the hill at the end. It takes place on small, quiet roads or good gravel paths.

This route, which passes by two viewpoint indicators, offers amazing views over plaine de la Bièvre and the Vercors and the Chartreuse mountain ranges.

You climb the hillside of La Côte Saint-André (ND de Sciez) from where you have a remarkable view: from the Monts du Pilat in the west to the Mont du Chat in the north-east, passing through the Vercors, Belledonne and Chartreuse. From certain vantage points, on clear days you can even see the summit of Mont Blanc. On the way back, you will pass by the village's main attractions.

An easy walk among the ponds in the heart of the Nantoin Forest. At the end of the walk, you will be rewarded with a splendid view of the Liers plain, the Chartreuse, the Alps and the Vercors.

A short walk on the moraine between the Bièvre and Liers plains, with views of the surrounding mountains. You will go to the Château de Bocsozel and return via the Château Pointière.

You will cross the Valloire plain, surrounded by fields and orchards in Lens Lestang, until you reach the Priory of Manthes. Information boards tell you about mulberry and pear trees. Then you climb up to the Madone de Moras and return along a path well sheltered from the sun, along the moraine. On the way, you can admire the Château du Double.

An easy walk, ideal in spring when the fruit trees are in bloom. Several points of interest for children. On the way, you can see the priory of Manthes, visit an extraordinary garden created by a disciple of the facteur Cheval, tour the Château du Double and search for a riddle.

A rural walk through the Vernéa valley and woods. In the second part, you will walk along the crest of the hill and enjoy beautiful views of the Pilat mountains.

This hilly hike will take you past castles and fortified houses (La Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Mont and the ruins of Bocsozel). The route also offers magnificent views of the Alps. This hike follows a small section of the Via Gebennensis. The Via Gebennensis connects Geneva to Le Puy-en-Velay. It is the route that Swiss and German pilgrims have always taken to reach the pilgrimage route from Santiago de Compostela to Le Puy.

A fairly easy hike alternating between forest trails and wide open views. Best done in dry weather with clear skies to make the most of the views of the Alps and the beautiful hills and valleys at the start of the route. This is an opportunity to discover the Château de Septème.

An easy walk in the village of Estrablin which, over the course of two hours, offers large open views over the surrounding hills and mountains. We mainly take small peaceful tarmacked country lanes, which means you can enjoy a walking excursion even after heavy rainfall and when the paths are almost impassable.

Wind through the valleys between Brion and Saint-Michel-de-Saint-Geoirs, then climb up to the ridge where you will have 360° views of Mezenc, Pilat, the Plaine de la Bièvre, the Chartreuse, Belledone, and the Vercors. End by walking through Mouillasson forest to get back to your vehicle.

A beautiful hike alternating between woodland trails and majestic views of the Pilat Regional Nature Park and the Rhône Valley.

A hike that almost exclusively uses small roads without traffic, providing a route where the paths are not an option. We start in Vienne and experience its panoramic views of Notre-Dame de Pipet and the Vienne hills with beautiful views of the Rhône Valley and the Pilat massif at the bottom. The return journey takes you through the homes on the Vienne heights while maintaining good views of the Viennoise hills.

Discover the old tramway line linking Saint-Marcellin (38) and Lyon (69).

This is a nice walk which mostly consists of walking around the town through beautiful forests and fields. This route is a nice alternative to avoid any slippery and muddy parts when it has rained a lot. It also passes through a historical cemetery and church where you can stop for a lunch break.

Starting from Luzinay, between wetlands and shady forests. Beautiful views of the Pilat massif, the Vercors massif and the Lyon metropolitan area. Depending on the season, between the start (S/E) and point (3), in the morning you may see storks resting in the wetlands of the Sévenne valley, grey herons and great egrets. The first part of the route, up to point (6), is mainly flat terrain on small roads with little traffic during the day and a few small paths. After the village of Villette-de-Vienne, deer and pheasants can often be seen on the hillsides, for those who know how to be discreet and observant. The end of the route takes you past the medieval chapel of Illins (11th and 13th centuries) and its cemetery. There are no particular difficulties in terms of orientation, but signposts are rare, if not non-existent.
