Quincivet Castle Circular
The first part of the walk is very shady. It alternates between passages through the undergrowth, walnut groves and countryside. You will pass by the pretty Château de Quincivet and enjoy some beautiful views of the Vercors, the Chartreuse and the Saint-Marcellin plain. There are no difficulties to be feared, except for the length and muddy conditions in rainy weather.
Nan Gorges - Gerlette Waterfall
Pretty steep-sided gorge through which the Nan torrent flows. You can take a dip in the torrent in summer. A wooded trail that is lovely to stroll along.
This hike can be split into two parts. In summer, only the gorges are interesting, as the Gerlette waterfall may be dry. Best done in spring when the waters are flowing freely.
Nan Gorges and Malême Forest
A pleasant walk in magnificent surroundings along the Nan, returning through the Malême forest to where it all began, in the pretty little village of Cognin-les-Gorges.
You can enjoy the coolness of the river in summer.
Circular Montchardon starting from Izeron
This hike will take you on a journey. At the start, you will have to tackle the foothills of the Vercors, but once you reach Montchardon, you will have arrived in Tibet. It is best to do this hike on a Sunday so that you can visit the Tibetan Studies Centre.
Murinais, Chambaran, Le Gollard circular loop
This hike is a little long, but it offers beautiful views of the Chartreuse, the Vercors and the countryside of the Chambarans foothills.
For those who dislike tarmac, a quarter of the route is on country roads, which are paved but have very little traffic!
Saint-Marcellin - Portes du Vercors
Between agricultural plains, walnut groves and unobstructed views of the Vercors, this accessible circuit takes you along quiet little roads, ideal for discovering the landscapes around Saint-Marcellin while enjoying a rich natural and cultural heritage.
Suburban loop in Saint-Marcellin
A walk between the countryside and the town of Saint-Marcellin, which can be shortened or extended as desired. You will cross the Cumane, pass under the viaduct and visit the allotment gardens. On the ridges of Saint-Marcellin, you will be treated to a superb view.

Col de Neurre from Malleval-en-Vercors
An alternative to another hike, the Gerlette Waterfall and Col de Neurre, which follows the same route out but takes a different route back, minimising the amount of road walking.

Above Malleval-en-Vercors, hike through the woods for a glimpse of the Coulmes Forest and a pretty waterfall.
Malleval-en-Vercors – Rencurel (Les Rimets)
Stage2 of the Tour des Coulmes.
This is the longest stage and the one with the steepest gradient.
The final section takes place entirely through woodland.
Épinouse route
This is a lovely route offering numerous panoramic views of the northern slopes of the Vercors. Halfway along the route, you will pass a very pretty chapel worthy of the Smurf village.
La Croisée des Plâtres at the start of Chevrières
This walk presents no major difficulties. It climbs the foothills of the Chambarans and offers many beautiful panoramic views of the Vercors and a few of the Chartreuse. The paths taken are either wide stony tracks or small tarmac roads.
The Gorges du Gorgonnet
This hike will take you into the charming Gorges du Gorgonnet. It is a family-friendly route. However, caution is advised. Although the trail is wide and comfortable, there are no guardrails in some places, so keep an eye on children. At the end of the gorges, they can enjoy a natural swimming pool with particularly clear (and cold) water.

Please note: due to a major landslide, this hike is currently not possible.
You start by walking along the Isère river through walnut trees. You then climb up the foothills of the Vercors, before returning via the Gaffe footbridge and the wild, steep-sided Gorgonnet gorges.
Shaded circular in the Coulmes forest around Patente
A short family circular (tested with children aged 6 to 10), with beautiful views of the valley and surrounding peaks (viewpoint near the start), well shaded and cool. Lots of flowers and butterflies, as well as wild strawberries and raspberries at the right time of year.

The kingfisher trail from Beauvoir-en-Royans to La Sône
You start in the charming medieval village of Beauvoir-en-Royans and head to La Sône. On the way there, you take the kingfisher trail along the Isère. This is a short day's walk combining culture and nature.
September 2020: several hikers have reported significant deterioration of the trail along the Isère River. Some sections may even be dangerous.
A circular starting from Le Faz
This snowshoe hike is not very difficult. It is surprising for the beauty of the landscapes encountered.
From Le Faz to La Goulandière, returning via the Refuge de Sâtre
A circular walk through the Forêt des Coulmes in the Vercors, amongst beech, spruce and boxwood trees. A walk suitable for all seasons. There are numerous karstic caves near the route; do not hesitate to take a detour to admire them, taking care to do so safely.
Fontaine de Pétouze and return via Courtin
This hike is best done in the morning in winter, when the sun (when it's out) plays with the reflections in the icy branches. The boxwoods form large snowballs and give off their scent.

This hike is mainly in forest, is easy and can be done in all seasons. It offers superb views of the southern Grésivaudan valley from St Marcellin to Roman sur Isère.
Loop from Les Rimets via the Pas de l'Âne
Hike starting and ending at Les Rimets, located in the hills above Rencurel. The hike is almost entirely in the woods. The loop passes by the old Serre du Sâtre refuge (which was burned down in 2022 and has not been restored) and offers a view of the Pas de l'Âne.The return route follows small paths that are not marked with the usual FFRandonnée colours, but are easy to find and very passable.

This hike offers superb views of the Bourne Gorges. The trails are very well maintained and easily accessible. A picnic at Banc du Ranc is a must! The village of La Goulandière is also worth a visit.
