Bévenais walks

This walk through the woods will allow you to discover the Chapel of Notre-Dame de la Salette and the beautiful Étang du Marais lake.

A short walk down to the Bièvre plain and then back up to mid-slope. This route is not difficult, except for a short steep climb on leaving Saint-Hilaire.

This hike starts at the northern edge of the Bièvre plain, along theGR®65. It then leads to the moraine to discover the Chapelle de la Salette, nestled in the woods. Finally, the return journey is via the Château de la Villardière, where you will have a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

After completing the educational route through the peat bogs, we suggest a short walk in the surrounding countryside.

A short, easy walk in the heart of the Bièvre plain. You’ll enjoy views of the surrounding peaks: Chartreuse, Vercors, Pilat. Halfway along the route, you’ll walk alongside the runway at Saint-Geoirs Airport and may be lucky enough to see a plane taking off or landing.

This hilly hike will take you past castles and fortified houses (La Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Mont and the ruins of Bocsozel). The route also offers magnificent views of the Alps. This hike follows a small section of the Via Gebennensis. The Via Gebennensis connects Geneva to Le Puy-en-Velay. It is the route that Swiss and German pilgrims have always taken to reach the pilgrimage route from Santiago de Compostela to Le Puy.

A lovely little walk in the Dauphiné countryside. Halfway through, you will climb a little way up into the forest to the Croix du Moine Mort (Dead Monk's Cross), before descending to the charming Notre-Dame de Milin Chapel.

A beautiful walk in the Nord Isère. Your walk, in a hilly environment, takes you through alternating bocage and undergrowth. There are no particular difficulties to be feared on this route (except for an unguarded level crossing to cross...).

Eighth stage from east to west on the Way of St James. You are now on the Via Gebennensis – GR®65 or the ‘Route du Puy’ – which is undoubtedly the best-known route as it most closely follows the historical path to Santiago de Compostela. For this8th stage, you will walk mainly through fields and forests, punctuated by a strong cultural identity at La Côte Saint-André and also in villages such as Ornacieux or Balbins, with the Saint-Michel Chapel offering a magnificent 360° panorama.

A very easy short walk. The only difficulty is a short hill. In the first part, you will enjoy beautiful views of the Chartreuse mountains. In the middle, you will cross the pretty village of Izeaux, then return along a pleasant wooded path, skirting a beautiful private lake.

This is an easy walk that takes you past Dauphiné houses, the ponds of Saint-Didier-de-Bizonnes and the Brosses forest. In the second part of the walk, you will enjoy some beautiful views of the surrounding peaks (even the summit of Mont Blanc).

You start by crossing the Gourand woods and then the Béroudières woods. At the end of the walk, you will pass a beautiful string of ponds. Along the route, you will have some beautiful views of the surrounding peaks.

This is an easy walk through hedgerows and woods.The route takes you to the Chapel of Notre-Dame de Milin, the Croix du Moine Mort (Dead Monk's Cross) and the ruins of the Chartreuse de Sylve Bénite.

This is a varied walk, alternating between woods and pond banks. You can enjoy a few views of the Chartreuse peaks and, if the weather is very clear, even the highest peak of Mont Blanc.

A lovely little circular on the heights of Gillonnay, starting from the Chapel of Notre-Dame du Mont, with a beautiful view of Parménie and, above all, the Vercors. The chapel is worth a visit. This route is superb in autumn! Be careful, in the height of summer, there is practically no shade.

A short walk south of the Bièvre plain. On the way there, you can enjoy views of the Chartreuse mountains and, on the way back, the Pilat peaks.

From the village of Izeaux, you climb up to the Domaine de Parménie where you can admire the charming Chapelle de Notre-Dame de la Croix. From the orientation table, you will have a panoramic view from the Mont du Chat in the Ain to the peaks of the north-east of the Vercors.

A short walk on the moraine between the Bièvre and Liers plains, with views of the surrounding mountains. You will go to the Château de Bocsozel and return via the Château Pointière.

A pleasant, varied little hike that takes you through the narrow streets of La-Côte-Saint-André, then along the ridges to enjoy beautiful views of the mountains.

Route along the ridges between the plains of Bièvre and Liers with beautiful views of the Alpine foothills. Villages with beautiful Dauphiné architecture, castles and ruins, pilgrimage sites.

This is a fairly short trail through the village of Izeaux. It takes you around the centre of the village, and offers some lovely views of the village.Take a few 'tracolets' through the heart of the village, and you'll discover some of the remarkable features of Izeaux.

The forest of the former Sylve Bénite Charterhouse offers a varied terrain for walkers in the Lac de Paladru area, with its undulating landscape and several vantage points. The suggested route climbs up the western slope (Virieu) before crossing over to the eastern slope and returning via the ridges. The low altitude means it can be walked in any season, including after a snowfall.

A short and easy route for a stroll around the Plan ponds.

Starting from the hamlet of Le Verney, in the commune of Oyeu in Isère, this route, partly through woods, goes around Plan-du-Rey, which briefly overlooks Lake Paladru.

Loop on the Vaux ridges (Chabons municipality) with beautiful views of the Chartreuse and Belledonne mountains and the Hien, Bourbre and Ain valleys in good weather. The circuit mainly follows very wide, pleasant paths, with one section along the edge of the forest. Accessible to all.

This is an ideal walk in the woods when the weather is hot. Be careful in winter and early spring, as the paths can be muddy. There are a few steep and stony sections, so take care if you are walking with children (who are good walkers). At a good pace, the walk takes 2 hours.

Explore the Saint-Pierre-de-Bressieux ridge with stunning views of the village and the plain. Paths winding through fields and woods.

A short family walk along the banks of the Fure river, starting from Rives. No difficulty whatsoever.

This walk alternates between countryside and forest, with a very reasonable elevation gain. It also offers some beautiful views of the surrounding peaks.

The only difficulty with this walk is its length. It will allow you to wander through the heart of the Dauphiné countryside. Here and there, it offers views of the surrounding peaks: Chartreuse, Vercors, Monts du Pilat, Monts du Lyonnais. The two V's are the localities of Vernondière and Vernay.

A very varied walk. In the first part, you walk alongside magnificent ponds covered with water lilies. The return via Camp de César offers magnificent views of the Bièvre plain and the surrounding mountains.

Visit a Lasallian site located on the hill of Parménie above Tullins, Renage and Beaucroissant.

An easy walk among the ponds in the heart of the Nantoin Forest. At the end of the walk, you will be rewarded with a splendid view of the Liers plain, the Chartreuse, the Alps and the Vercors.

This route, crossing the village to Bandoz, takes the Chemin du Maupas (“difficult passage”), then climbs steadily up the hillside to the Route des Arrons, which links Tullins to Beaucroissant. The route climbs steeply to a barn (shortcut possible to the right) and then on to its highest point on Parménie Hill. The path then descends through the woods towards Beaucroissant before returning to the Route des Arrons and the Chemin de la Bergère. From here, the Montée du Couloir is descended to the church at Renage.

To the trees of the town! A lovely walk through the woodland, towards the Criel plateau. Along the route, you’ll find all the common tree species and the Criel walnut groves. On the way back, a permanent exhibition of photographs in the woods illustrates the Chemin du Sophora. The return route then takes you through the Parc de l’Ancienne Soierie and its remarkable trees, then past the Lavoir des Amours, where weavers used to wash their linen and, perhaps, meet their soulmate.

A countryside walk starting from Le Pin, a village within the “Villages de Lac de Paladru” municipality. Passing through Les Marais, Chubins and Charpenne. A easy route along wide farm tracks and a few small tarmac roads.

This is a short walk, best enjoyed on a clear day. It offers exceptional panoramic views stretching from the Monts de l'Ain to the peaks of the eastern Vercors, via the Dent du Chat, Mont Blanc, the Chartreuse, the Belledonne peaks, Taillefer and Dévoluy. There are no particular difficulties along the route.

A magnificent circular route that follows theGR®65, better known as the Way of St James, on the way there and the paths above Lake Paladru on the way back.

An easy walk around Lake Paladru, allowing you to discover some fascinating Carthusian buildings. The Grange Dimière is a listed building and, higher up, the former Carthusian monastery, which is now privately owned and not open to visitors.

An easy walk towards Charnècles, offering remarkable views of the Vercors, Belledonne and the Chartreuse through the pastures, orchards and walnut groves, which bear witness to the agricultural activity of Criel de Renage.

A traditional walk for the residents of Criel, in summer it offered a cool respite under the canopy of beech trees that shaded much of the route. Unfortunately, recent clear-cutting and the passage of modern forestry machinery have damaged the little path through the woods.

An easy walk towards Charnècles, offering remarkable views of the Vercors, Belledonne and Chartreuse mountains as you pass through parks, orchards and walnut groves that bear witness to the agricultural activity of Criel de Renage.

This circular route offers joggers a route featuring ascents and descents, mostly through unspoilt countryside. Walkers can also enjoy views of the Vercors and the Chartreuse.

This route, on the Criel plateau, is usually tackled starting from the Petite Abeille circular loop. Setting off from Criel school, it follows the Route du Marais Fleury, where, on the right-hand side, an old bread oven is still used for festive events. Then, a farm track will take you through orchards, walnut groves and pastures, along a path through the woodland.

A traditional circular route for the residents of Criel, it offers a pleasant walk along the Route de Bourretières and a return through the woods via the ridges, which offer views of the Isère valley, the Vercors and the Chartreuse.A circular route popular with walkers, mountain bikers and joggers...

This walk allows you to discover the castles of Pupetière and Virieu. You first walk along the Bourbre valley on the hillside, then through the forest, passing the Croix du Moine Mort, and finally return to the hill towards Virieu.

A varied walk, located on the northern foothills of the Chambarans. You walk along a small stream before climbing the hills to enjoy some interesting views. You finish the walk at the imposing medieval castle of Bressieux. There are no difficulties to worry about, except for the distance and two slightly steep hills.

An unpretentious walk through the Éclose bocage and the Forêt du Roi.
