From Izeaux to Notre-Dame de la Croix
From the village of Izeaux, you climb up to the Domaine de Parménie where you can admire the charming Chapelle de Notre-Dame de la Croix. From the orientation table, you will have a panoramic view from the Mont du Chat in the Ain to the peaks of the north-east of the Vercors.
Maupas Grand Circular Route
This route, crossing the village to Bandoz, takes the Chemin du Maupas (“difficult passage”), then climbs steadily up the hillside to the Route des Arrons, which links Tullins to Beaucroissant. The route climbs steeply to a barn (shortcut possible to the right) and then on to its highest point on Parménie Hill. The path then descends through the woods towards Beaucroissant before returning to the Route des Arrons and the Chemin de la Bergère. From here, the Montée du Couloir is descended to the church at Renage.
The little bee around Renage
To the trees of the town! A lovely walk through the woodland, towards the Criel plateau. Along the route, you’ll find all the common tree species and the Criel walnut groves. On the way back, a permanent exhibition of photographs in the woods illustrates the Chemin du Sophora. The return route then takes you through the Parc de l’Ancienne Soierie and its remarkable trees, then past the Lavoir des Amours, where weavers used to wash their linen and, perhaps, meet their soulmate.

The Marais Fleury

La Grande Abeille
This route, on the Criel plateau, is usually tackled starting from the Petite Abeille circular loop. Setting off from Criel school, it follows the Route du Marais Fleury, where, on the right-hand side, an old bread oven is still used for festive events. Then, a farm track will take you through orchards, walnut groves and pastures, along a path through the woodland.
Le Mollard Rond
This circular route offers joggers a route featuring ascents and descents, mostly through unspoilt countryside. Walkers can also enjoy views of the Vercors and the Chartreuse.

An easy walk towards Charnècles, offering remarkable views of the Vercors, Belledonne and Chartreuse mountains as you pass through parks, orchards and walnut groves that bear witness to the agricultural activity of Criel de Renage.
Fay Circular Route
A traditional walk for the residents of Criel, in summer it offered a cool respite under the canopy of beech trees that shaded much of the route. Unfortunately, recent clear-cutting and the passage of modern forestry machinery have damaged the little path through the woods.
