Circuit starting from Saint-Georges d'Espéranche

In autumn, the Fromentaux woods are full of chestnuts. In good weather, you can see Mont Blanc and the Alps from the heights. The route also takes us to the small spring at Maison Badin, passes through La Beaume and Les Combes, crosses the small stream of La Vesonne and returns via the peaceful By pond.
We also walk alongside numerous meadows where horses graze.
Around Veyssilieu

A loop starting from Veyssilieu to discover some panoramic views and the chapel of Notre-Dame de la Salette at the top of Chatelan mountain.
Note: this loop follows the routes indicated on the large map at the side of the road, i.e.: Cros de Lavan, Les Gorges, Frétignier, Seuillere, Floutier and back to Veyssilieu.
Loop around Chozeau

This pleasant little walk will allow you to enjoy a mix of woods, meadows and crops. It will also enrich your photo album, as you can capture the wildlife on the Varnieu pond, located on this route, and the original architecture of Bourcieu Castle.
Between Poizieu and Moras

This circuit will take you to Lac de Moras and, on a clear day, there is a superb view of the Alps and the lake from the Moras cemetery.

Aillat, Grande Forêt from Chèzeneuve

This walk is taken from the "Du bois de la Vacheresse à celui du Revollet" hike by Jipedeu, of which it forms the western wing.
A pleasant alternation between woods, clearings and cultivated fields. Few roads and lots of clean, well-maintained paths, very pleasant in all seasons.
The Devil's Stone route in Artas

This is a walk with little elevation gain and no difficulty, except for the distance. You will stroll through the rolling countryside of northern Isère. As a bonus, you can walk around the Pierre du Diable (Devil's Rock) and maybe even climb it!

This is a nice walk which mostly consists of walking around the town through beautiful forests and fields.
This route is a nice alternative to avoid any slippery and muddy parts when it has rained a lot.
It also passes through a historical cemetery and church where you can stop for a lunch break.

An easy walk from Janneyrias to Saugnieu, passing two pretty lakes and the famous site of the Battle of Anthon in 1430.
Vénérieu and the Moras Pond

Walk near the CAPI, mainly in the woods. In the first part, there are beautiful views of the Bourbre valley, Bourgoin-Jallieu and Isle d'Abeau. On the way back, you walk along the Étang de Moras, but the reeds prevent you from seeing the shore. A few communal ovens and wash houses adorn the route.

An easy little walk for a Sunday afternoon.
The Villette-de-Vienne pond and the Combe des Brigands starting from Luzinay

Starting from Luzinay, between wetlands and shady forests. Beautiful views of the Pilat, Vercors and Mont Blanc mountains and the Lyon metropolitan area. Depending on the season, between the start (S/E) and point (3), in the morning you may see storks resting in the wetlands of the Sévenne valley, grey herons and great egrets. The first part of the route, up to point (6), is mainly flat terrain on small roads with little traffic during the day and a few small paths. After the village of Villette-de-Vienne, deer and pheasants can often be seen on the hillsides, for those who know how to be discreet and observant. The end of the route takes you past the medieval chapel of Illins (11th and 13th centuries) and its cemetery. There are no particular difficulties in terms of orientation, but signposts are rare, if not non-existent.
Villemoirieu Tower

We will tour the hamlets of this unusual commune, where the town hall, school, church, cemetery and village hall are located outside the residential areas. We will discover several châteaux, a bread oven and panoramic views of the Ain plain.

From the 19th-century Romanesque church of Saint-Barthélémy to the Bois du Recours, this pleasant short walk offers magnificent views of Lyon, its mountains and the snow-capped Alps in fine weather.
From the Chapulay woods to Septème Castle

A fairly easy hike alternating between forest trails and wide open views. Best done in dry weather with clear skies to make the most of the views of the Alps and the beautiful hills and valleys at the start of the route.

This walk alternates between wide-open views of the surrounding valleys and distant mountain ranges (Monts du Lyonnais, Pilat, Alps) and pretty, fairly hilly sections in the forest.

This is a short, easy loop that allows you to discover the panorama at the confluence of the Rhône and Ain rivers, the picturesque village of Anthon and its surroundings, including the banks of the Rhône and the beautiful town hall of Chavanoz.
Small routes over the ridges of Estrablin

An easy walk in the village of Estrablin which, over the course of two hours, offers large open views over the surrounding hills and mountains. We mainly take small peaceful tarmacked country lanes, which means you can enjoy a walking excursion even after heavy rainfall and when the paths are almost impassable.

A short walk in the countryside of northern Isère. The first part takes you across the open plateau, the second through more enclosed valleys, alongside several ponds.
Chapelle de Leyrieu

Plateau des Aviateurs from Vernas

This is a very pleasant circular walk starting from the pretty village of Vernas, which takes you along attractive paths and trails, often shaded by trees, to the Plateau des Aviateurs, where a military aircraft crashed in 1944 and another in 1969. A small chapel, commemorative plaques and a sign commemorate these events. Wide panoramic views of the Rhône plains and the Alps in the distance can be enjoyed throughout the walk.
