Pic de Cagire from the Col de Menté

This hike allows you to reach the Pic de Cagire in a morning, offering a 360° view between the plain and the highest peaks of the Pyrenees.
07/01/2024: Hiking prohibited to the public from 1 January 2025 to 31 March 2025 by municipal decree (from Pic de L'Escalette towards Pas de l'Âne via the ridges located in the commune of Boutx).
This hike is strongly discouraged in winter due to its dangerous nature, particularly between the summit of Les Parets and Col du Pas de l'Âne! See practical information.
Port de Vénasque - Port de la Picade - Pas de l'Escalette loop

This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful hikes in the Pyrenees. The climb is long and difficult, but the panoramic views will make you forget your aching legs. Once past the azure blue Boums du Port, the Port de Venasque fault offers the most beautiful balcony overlooking the Maladeta and its lord, the Aneto. The Port de la Picade with its superb panoramic views, the Pas de l'Escalette and the Crabidès ridge complete this unforgettable hike.
Pech David and the Gallic oppidum

Starting from the peaceful village of Pouvourville, this easy walk can be enjoyed in all seasons.
The signs are everywhere, guiding us along the tree-lined path to the Oppidum de Cluzet, where the first inhabitants of Toulouse lived in the Neolithic period.
From the Gallic oppidum, and all along the cliff-top path on the heights of Pech David, you can enjoy magnificent views of the Garonne River flowing through the Toulouse plain.
Among the vines: heart-shaped serapias

A bucolic walk in the heart of the Fronton AOP. You will go from valley to valley through vineyards and forests. You will enjoy magnificent views of the Girou valley with the Pyrenees as a backdrop and a panoramic view of the Tarn valley from Rabastens to Montauban.
The circuit is marked by 13 scent markers featuring the aromas of Fronton wines. Can you recognise them all?
From Notre-Dame des Bois to Clermont-le-Fort

This hike is based on the route published by SICOVAL "Circular walk from Notre-Dame des Bois", which I modified at the end.
A challenging circuit on the outskirts of Toulouse.

Just outside Toulouse, this is a short, invigorating circuit. There is a bit of tarmac when crossing Castanet (1.3 km), but the rest is made up of paths and beautiful trails. The countryside is just a few kilometres from Toulouse. Avoid this circuit after heavy rain as some sections will be difficult to navigate.
The Portet d'Aspet Pass - The Pic de Paloumère

The hike is suitable in all seasons. If there is snow, snowshoes may be necessary (depending on the depth).
Crête de Cournudère or Cornudère or Cap des Teches

Arbas, land of bears, paragliders and beautiful hikes! The hike I suggest follows a ridge trail and offers beautiful views of the Comminges to the north and the high peaks of the Pyrenees to the south, all without much difficulty.
Menville loop
Menville is a pleasant little village on the left bank of the Save. The river meanders lazily through green meadows. Pretty houses with carefully tended gardens are grouped around the bell tower. The residents of Menville enjoy the peace and quiet and proximity to nature. Country roads lead to beautiful old farms, which everyone takes pride in maintaining and improving.
Panorama around Montjoire

This walk offers beautiful 360° views from the Chemin de Ronde de Montjoire. Explore this town, a stronghold of the Cathar resistance, as you walk through fields and along ridge paths.
The hillsides of Lauragais - The hills of Autan

Circuit in the suburbs of Toulouse on routes mapped out by Sicoaval. It will take you through fields and woods to discover the colourful, rolling landscapes of the Lauragais region via well-maintained paths and trails.

The route includes muddy sections in winter (this is the Lauragais region) and a few steep climbs.
Saint-Ferreol

Section of the "sentier des sommets" trail, cut off from the link with Revel, reducing the total distance to 14 km.
No technical difficulties, with beautiful views of the Lauragais. The route ends with a shaded walk around the lake, where you can swim in season.
A loop in the woods at Montberon

A few kilometres north of Toulouse, you can enjoy a lovely route through the woods, perfect for jogging, trail running or hiking.
Across the hillsides of Lauragais

This circuit winds its way through the gently rolling hills of the Lauragais, with views of the plain, the Montagne Noire and, on a clear day, the entire Pyrenees mountain range, from Canigou to the Pic du Midi.
Lac Vert loop via the Coume hut

This is a beautiful hike during which you will discover stunning waterfalls, a beautiful view of the Luchonnais region and, the highlight of the show, the green waters of the lake of the same name. However, due to its elevation, length and a few tricky sections, this route requires a good level of fitness.
Le Mourtis - Tuc de Pan loop

A beautiful hike with no major difficulties, most of which takes place under the trees. At the summit of Tuc de Pan (1,724 m), you will discover an exceptional panorama of the Garonne valley as it enters France, as well as the Maladeta Massif, among other sights.
The Campsaure plateau from the Hospice de France

This hike is not particularly difficult, apart from a slightly steep climb during the first kilometre, and offers superb views of the Luchonnais mountain pastures (sheep, cows, horses), the climb to Vénasque and the Crête de la Pique.
Filhols loop

A route for skipping merrily across streams and admiring the scenery from above!
Fed by the Garonne, the Tarn flows gently through the surrounding countryside. This long walk takes you along its banks, with hillsides offering exceptional views and shady valleys with discreet streams.
Due to bad weather, the route along the stream has been badly damaged after the (6) (after crossing the D29). However, it remains accessible if you take care.
Fabas Forest and Saint-André Lake

This is a very pleasant, uncrowded walk that is suitable for everyone. On the way there, you will pass through the beautiful Fabas Forest and on the way back, you will walk along the Lac de Saint-André, which is well worth a look
Pic de l'Escalette from the Col de Menté

A beautiful hike that is accessible to families as it is fairly short. It offers magnificent views of the Pyrenees and ends in a rather rocky environment.
The views are quite dizzying for a hike of this length, but you do get to reach a peak!
Panorama and oak forest between Lacroix-Falgarde and Goyrans

On the outskirts of Toulouse, climb up to admire the Pyrenees and the hillsides, then return to the cool shade of the Goyrans forest along the Ariège river.
Saleich loop via Urau and Castelbiague

This easy hike is located on the border of Haute-Garonne and at the gateway to Ariège. You will walk along the foothills of the Pyrenees. Varied landscapes and architectural sites are waiting to be discovered on this interesting walk.
Belvédère du Mont Né via the Crête de la Pale

Belvédère du Mont Né (Mont Né viewpoint) is a fitting name for this mountain, as the views you will discover throughout this hike are breathtaking. In good weather, this route does not present any major difficulties. What's more, you will start from Port de Balès, a famous stage of the Tour de France.
The ridges around Espanès

A route starting from Corronsac in the 'long' version, with magnificent landscapes on ridge paths and some beautiful trails in the Lauragais.
The Tuc de Tucol from Arbas

An easy hike once you've made the climb, with magnificent views of the Pyrenees.
Les Coteaux, the Garonne and Arize rivers from Carbonne

This beautiful hike takes you to the heights of Carbonne and the meeting point of the Garonne and Arize rivers.
The Ariège from bottom to top

A very varied hike, combining bucolic trails along the Ariège and aerial passages on the cliffs. Very little tarmac, lots of trails, beautiful views of the plains and the Pyrenees.
The hike ends with a visit to the charming village of Clermont-le-Fort.
The butterfly trail

Along the trail, you will follow rural paths and discover remarkable landscapes, cultivated plains and shady valleys. You will have an unobstructed view of the Girou plain and the hillsides.
You will be accompanied by numerous butterflies, and the diverse wildlife and flora along the trail will brighten up your hike, including a private park populated by deer.
Walk around the Aussonnelle

Come and escape to the bucolic surroundings of Bonrepos-sur-Aussonnelle, on the border between Haute-Garonne and Gers.
Tour of Lake Balerme from Verfeil

The Chemin des Palombières at Saint-Pé-d'Ardet

This hike, which has no major difficulties, will be great fun to do in autumn in the midst of an explosion of colour. You'll discover superb beech forests, impressive pidgeon hunting huts, a beautiful view of the Pic du Cagire, the Garonne valley and the first Pyrenean peaks dominating the Barousse.
Loop on the Wild West trail between Sepx, Latoue and Aulon

This hike follows part of the Western Wilderness Trail that connects Cazeneuve Montaut to Latoue. Here, it forms a loop that allows you to return to the starting point: the village of Sepx.
On the heights of Aspet

This hike starts at the unusual Miègecoste Chapel, follows a discovery trail with the ruins of a watchtower, and continues on a large loop around the heights of Aspet. It is one of the most beautiful vantage points for admiring the Pic de Cagire, the "lord of Comminges".

Summit of Oudérou from Binos

A very pretty early winter circuit to be done on foot or snowshoes depending on the snow conditions. Its good south-eastern exposure allows you to walk in the sun, which is appreciated in cold weather.
A very picturesque hike through the village, beautiful beech forests and the sumptuous panorama from the summit.
Pic du Gar and Pic Saillant via the Col de Teyech and then the Col de Caube
Magnificent ascent of the Pic du Gar via the Col de Teyech. Superb views of the surrounding valleys. A challenging hike with a lot of elevation gain but no technical difficulty.
The Saint-Martin Refuge from Barbazan

A lovely walk in a wooded area, suitable all year round except during periods of heavy rain.
A family hike that can be done as a round trip from Barbazan to the Refuge Saint-Martin.
Reminder: the route is mainly through woodland.
From Lagardelle to Beaumont off the beaten track

A circuit in the heart of nature, taking paths through fields, undergrowth and a little on tarmac in the village itself.

Lake Laragou in Montpitol

A lakeside walk with no major difficulties. Best done in dry weather as the lake's banks are a little muddy.
Notre-Dame-des-Bois loop

This hike, which crosses varied landscapes, offers beautiful views of the Ariège valley. It leads along a path through the woods to the Notre-Dame-des-Bois oratory, a reminder of the discovery of a wooden statue of the Virgin and Child, which can be seen in the church of Clermont-le-Fort.
Col de Galin and Mail de Hard from Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges

A beautiful hike through the woods in the Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges forest.
In the footsteps of the Romans from Lespugue

It is an easy hike, best done on a sunny autumn day. It will take you to famous historical sites: the Gallo-Roman villa of Montmaurin, Lespugue and its famous Venus, as well as the ruins of its castle. In addition, it is a hilly route with beautiful panoramic views.

From the abbey to the orientation table and the Chapel of Saint-Amans, discover Eaunes in a different way.
A loop trail surrounded by nature on the outskirts of Toulouse: from Launaguet to Montberon

A path for jogging or walking off the beaten track and finding yourself surrounded by nature in the hills north of Toulouse, while remaining very close to the city.
You can admire beautiful panoramic views, including a beautiful view of the city of Toulouse with the Pyrenees in the background, but only on very clear days.
Depending on your physical condition, the route can be adapted in several ways, or divided into several circuits.
Loop via the Saunères hut from Artigue

This easy hike will allow you to discover Artigue, a charming village in the Luchonnais region, beautiful forests and a superb panorama of Bagnères-de-Luchon surrounded by its 3000m peaks, all on very different paths and trails.
Cier-de-Rivière - Loop via the Couret and Lauach passes

This hike in the Haut Comminges is pleasant, with little elevation gain, no difficulty and well marked. Most of the route is in the woods, so it is particularly recommended in summer or autumn. In addition, if you want to take a break, there is a picnic table at the Col de Lauach.
