When you arrive in Binos, park on the right at the municipal car park at the village entrance sign.
(S/E) Take the main road, which climbs steeply to the north-east until you reach a sharp left-hand bend (admire the beautiful old houses). Continue north-west to a small crossroads.
(1) Continue straight ahead on the forest track until you reach the first hairpin bend.
(2) Follow the track to the right until you reach a barn in a place called Les Ourdès.
(3) At the fork, take the left-hand path (east) which climbs and then makes a hairpin bend to the left further on.
(4) At an intersection, continue straight ahead (west) on the main track that zigzags through the forest. Note the ancient beech forest with its ghostly-shaped pollarded trees.
(5) At the Binos hut, continue along the track to Couret de Soulagnech. Follow it to Mail de la Madeleine, which you will go around on the west side on a faint path.
(6) As you leave the forest, note the Sommet de l'Oudérou on its western side, covered with meadows and topped with the first trees of the Bois de Héréchède. All that remains is to climb the ridge to reach the summit.
The view is magnificent: to the north-east, you can see Pic du Gar, Cagire and all the peaks of Haute Ariège, and further south, the Luchon valley and all the great peaks from Vallier to Arbizon.
(7) The descent is along the ridge to the north via a fairly well-marked path. Reach the summit of Réouère de Binos (on the left, Cap de Pouy de Hourmigué).
(8) Continue eastwards along the rocky ridge, still on the edge of the forest. Enter the woods at around 1,300 metres, still following the path clearly marked by a depression. You will reach a clearing at around 1,200 metres, the Clot de Tuco.
(9) Cross the clearing; the path is still visible. At around 1,100 m, pass close to Rocher de l'Uhon, which looks like mysterious ruins.
(4) You will come out onto a track that you took on the way up. Follow it to the left until you reach the Grange des Ourdès.
(3) Then turn sharply left at the fork, where the path descends straight ahead, heading due east. Ignore a path on the right and, further on, turn right to descend the steep slope. Go around a cattle shed on the left and continue downhill.
(1) At the crossroads, turn left and, taking the same path as on the way up, return to the car park where you started (S/E).
