Start: car park in the centre of the village of Donneville, on the edge of the D813.
(S/E) Leave the car park via the pavement on the left, following the D613 north-west, then immediately turn left to follow the footpath alongside a stream.
At the end of this road, cross the wooden footbridge over the Ruisseau des Rosiers, then continue left on the pavement, Chemin du Ruisseau de Fontbazi.
(1) At the roundabout, continue by taking the first street on the left and continue straight ahead on this street.
(2) Leave this road when it turns right and climbs up the hillside. At this point, continue straight ahead on the paved Chemin de la Boutane, which runs parallel to the Ruisseau des Rosiers. After 20 metres, continue straight ahead, following the Chemin de Taros, which turns into a dirt track after 50 metres. This road then branches off to the left to cross the stream via a small footbridge. Continue along the stream on your right until you reach a large crossroads (the 5 carrières crossroads marker).
(3) Take thesecond wide path on the left (GR®653) climbing gently towards Montgiscard, ignoring the path at right angles to the left. The path leads to the D24, which you should follow to the left for a few metres, then cross to take the tarmac path on the right, Chemin de Safrana (be careful when crossing the D24, as visibility is poor).
(4) At the crossroads, leave theGR®653and follow the grassy path to the right towards Belbèze (signpost).
Follow it straight ahead, pass the Pinatel farm, then turn right twice to reach a crossroads (Pinatel signpost). Continue straight ahead towards Donneville.
You will come to a tarmac road which you should follow straight ahead. After 150 metres, at an electrical cabinet, take the path downhill on the left which leads to the D24.
(5) Cross over and follow the wide path opposite to arrive back at the 5 Carrières crossroads.
(3) This time, take the path on the left (GR®653) towards Monbrun.
Follow the main track, ignoring a turn off to the left and then a path climbing to the right when the track veers left towards the woods.
After a steep climb, the track comes out onto a tarmac road at a crossroads (altitude 237m).
(6) Continue straight ahead on Chemin de la Ginestière. When it turns down to the left, leave it and continue straight ahead on the path. This path is very muddy in winter, but you can avoid the most difficult sections by walking along the edge of the fields on the right.
The path leads to the Montbrun road (altitude 191 m): continue to the right.
(7) Ignore theGR®653which branches off to the left further on and continue straight ahead on the road. After a right-hand bend, take the tarmac road on the left, Chemin de Patras.
(8) After the equestrian centre, at the Patras signpost, take the track on the left towards Deyme. It will go around a farm on the left, descend to the bottom of a wood and then climb steeply.
(9) Leave it at thesecond path on the right, which continues to climb steeply. You will come out onto a wide grassy path, which you follow to the left.
Cross Chemin de l'Autan and go up Impasse des Orchidées. At the crossroads at the end of the cul-de-sac, turn right onto Rue de la Croix Talou.
(10) After passing Chemin de l'Autan on your right, take a gravel path that descends to the right, Chemin de Donneville.
Follow this path straight ahead, crossing the Ruisseau de Rivals and continuing further up towards the Gautis farm, which you will pass on your left. When you arrive in Donneville, the path becomes a paved road (Chemin de l'Orfèvre).
(11) At the crossroads (Orfèvre signpost), the route turns left. At the next junction, take Chemin du Château d'Eau on the right and enjoy the view over the plain.
At the stop sign, continue straight ahead downhill to reach the centre of the village. Turn left onto the small square of Languedoc and continue downhill on the main road. Leave it a little further down by taking a staircase on the right to return to the car park opposite (S/E).
