The Comminges region north of Cassagnabère-Tournas
This is a beautiful hike (also accessible by mountain bike) that will allow you to discover magnificent panoramic views of the Comminges countryside and the Pyrenees mountain range. This route takes place on paved sections with very little traffic and on dirt or gravel paths along the edge of fields and forests, with even a ford to cross the Nère river.
Loop on the Wild West trail between Sepx, Latoue and Aulon

This hike follows part of the Western Wilderness Trail that connects Cazeneuve Montaut to Latoue. Here, it forms a loop that allows you to return to the starting point: the village of Sepx.
Circular Sentier des Goutères
Discover the local area in the heart of nature. Departure from the commune of Palaminy, on the right bank of the Garonne, at the hamlet of Les Pesquès on the D62. Stay alert, as you will be walking on tarmac roads for much of the route, although there is not much traffic; I only came across one vehicle. However, beautiful paths and tracks await you, and the Ruisseau des Goutères stream is a sight to behold. The route is very well signposted, even if some points are hidden by dense vegetation. Passing by the Roman road of Lavelanet-de-Comminges

The origins of the commune date back to Roman times, with the Roman road from Dax to Toulouse crossing the territory. During this walk, you will discover the history of the village named L'Aveylas or L'Aveynas in the 13th century (a place planted with hazelnut trees) and its 15th-century castle. This easy, flat walk takes you through the surrounding fields and the village along small roads and paths.
Chemin du Yané - Long loop

A beautiful loop with very pleasant paths on the edge of the forest. Beautiful panoramic views await you, including a superb view of the village of Simorre and its fortified church. On the circuit, you will find a sculpture by Japanese artist Teruhisa symbolising the roof.
Chemin du Yané, southern section

A beautiful hike between rivers, woods, meadows and fields around Simorre. The first part follows the Gimone Valley, along fields and through woods, then returns along the ridges with beautiful panoramic views.

The orchid trail in Simorre

The path climbs towards the high hills of Astarac, crosses the Bois d'Aguin and is embellished with wild orchids in season.
In the footsteps of the Romans from Lespugue

It is an easy hike, best done on a sunny autumn day. It will take you to famous historical sites: the Gallo-Roman villa of Montmaurin, Lespugue and its famous Venus, as well as the ruins of its castle. In addition, it is a hilly route with beautiful panoramic views.
Around the lakes of Peyssies

Discover the lakes of Peyssies and their many activities starting from the church. The church, built of brick and pebbles, showcases the typical architecture of the Volvestre region, while the lakes offer a breath of fresh air in all seasons. The walk around the large lake is accessible to wheelchair users, as are the fishing pontoons. The small lake is home to a heronry, a central island where many species of birds nest. You can rest in the shade of the large weeping willows or on the benches along the banks. Two restaurants welcome you if you feel peckish after your walk.

The Coume Torte path

The Volvestre inter-communal tourist office offers a marked and secure route.
Starting from the Saint-Christaud keep, this walk takes you through the hillsides of Volvestre, with regular ascents and descents. You can admire numerous views of the Pyrenees mountain range and discover the agriculture of Volvestre, its fields and cattle farms. This sunny hike allows you to enjoy magnificent views of the snow-capped Pyrenees in winter and spring.
Playing truant around Polastron

In a landscape of woods and meadows where deer reign supreme, attentive and silent walkers will discover the school of nature.
In Polastron, Arrats and Saves, in the south-east of the Gers, you will discover panoramic views, magnificent landscapes and the village itself. In Samatan, there is a market every Monday morning.
Large loop of Faget-Abbatial

At the start, you can admire the Cistercian church of Saint-Sauveur and, higher up, the abbey house (private property). The rest of the walk is a classic country hike where you will discover the hillsides of the Gers, the Lauze valley, the unmissable duck farm and, if you are lucky, three little donkeys will come to say hello. This route is very well signposted (yellow).
The pilgrim's path in Boulaur

A rural circuit through the valleys of the Gers, starting from Boulaur. The village is known for its abbey, which is open to visitors and offers local products.
La Gouzinoise

The Volvestre Intercommunal Tourist Office offers a marked and secure route.
This hike will allow you to discover the Gouzens area between hills and streams. You will see many farms with horses, cows, sheep and goats. The first part is accessible and follows a country road, allowing you to enjoy the sun and views of the fields. The second part passes through hedgerows and forest. It is possible to cut the trail in half by going directly to point 6 from the start.

This easy route allows you to explore some of the many paths in the commune, offering beautiful views of the Pyrenees and the rolling landscapes of Saiguède.

A beautiful hike through the hillsides and landscapes of the Gers. A route that alternates between paths, carriageways and trails. Beautiful panoramic views of the Pyrenees are available on clear days.
Walk around the Aussonnelle

Come and escape to the bucolic surroundings of Bonrepos-sur-Aussonnelle, on the border between Haute-Garonne and Gers.
Bonrepos-sur-Aussonelle and Lias from Fontenilles

Circular, mainly in the forest or forest edge, with relatively little asphalt. May be muddy in places (field edges and tractor tracks) after rain. Some beautiful views of Lias, Bonrepos-sur-Aussonelle and the Toulouse plain.
