Caignac walks
Caignac to Marquein circular loop
A circular route through the Lauragais hillside allowing you to discover the pretty villages of Caignac and Marquein, mainly on tarmac roads, best done when the sun isn’t too strong or after a spell of rain.
They're not quite the châteaux of the Loire, but they're close in the Lauragais region.
A very pretty little circuit, without any difficulty, offering superb views of the Lac de la Ganguise, the hillsides and the Pyrenees.
There is very little tarmac, with most of the route following wide, clean paths.
The starting point offers a chance to discover the magnificent little castle of Belflou.
The Thésauque lake
A lovely walk along the shores of Lake La Thésauque in Nailloux, which can be shortened by 4 km by cutting through the village of Montgeard.
From Renneville to Gardouch, through the hills and along the canal
This hike offers beautiful views of the Pyrenees and Lauragais and allows you to enjoy the tranquillity of the canal while admiring its engineering structures, such as the small port of Gardouch, the Aqueduct des Voûtes which spans the River Hers, and the Renneville Lock.
Tour of Lake Thésauque
If you're looking for a pleasant walk in the heart of Lauragais, Lac de la Thésauque, near Toulouse, straddling the municipalities of Montgeard and Nailloux, offers an easy route. The Windy Hills of Avignonet-Lauragais in Fanjeaux
A spectacular and iconic 48.2 km online route through the Lauragais region, the "Collines du Vent" (Windy Hills) connect Avignonet-Lauragais and Fanjeaux. Numerous windmills are dotted across these first hills of the Piège, taking advantage of the generous winds that blow alternately from the Mediterranean (the autan or marin) and the Atlantic (the cers). The view stretches far beyond the hills to the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noire. Eleven information panels provide details about the local heritage.

The Bird Sanctuary in Augé
An easy walk suitable for children: educational farm, tool museum, observatories, numerous species of migratory and sedentary birds (storks, barnacle geese). The estate is located between Calmont and Mazères on the D35.
You can park at the entrance to the estate or drive to the end of the driveway and park next to the museum.
The section along the motorway is only useful for getting to the observatories, but you have to go that way.
From Calmont to the port of Cintegabelle circular
A lovely circular from Calmont to the port of Cintegabelle, passing over the ridges and returning along the Hers river.
Circular Aubouissous in Calmont
A circular route starting from Calmont on the hillsides with a return along the banks of the Hers. On the ridge overlooking the Hers valley, and in good weather, there is a beautiful view of the Pyrenean foothills. During the hike, there is a beautiful view of the Calmont castle.
The Coulée Verte of the Ruisseau d'en Toulouse
This idyllic walk in Nailloux is part of the “La Coulée Verte” routes.A walk to enjoy before or after a meal. Picnic tables are scarce, so bring a groundsheet.Very slight elevation gain, no difficulty, perfect for children who will discover a playground and an orchard where the fruit is free to pick.
Naurouze and the hillsides in a circular route starting from Avignonet-Lauragais
The first section to the Seuil de Naurouze offers historical, architectural and religious discoveries, as well as magnificent panoramic views, with the surprise of the hamlet of Montferrand.
The second part takes you up through the hillsides towards the Pyrenees once more, despite the presence of a few more local roads. A real escape, a breath of fresh air in the Lauragais!
