Lavalette (Haute-Garonne) walks

A pleasant walking route starting from the village of Lavalette. In 2019, this pretty little village was awarded first prize in the Haute-Garonne competition for villages with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants.

A pleasant hike, partly shaded and with little road. Beautiful view of Verfeil. You can extend the hike by going to the Cimetière des Petites Filles Modèles (Cemetery of Model Little Girls) and walking around Lac de la Balerme.

Walk in semi-urban and natural areas along the south-eastern ring road of Toulouse. Discover the vast Grande Plaine leisure area, then climb up to the unspoilt Limayrac woods. Descend towards the green corridor to walk alongside the Cité de l'Espace. There are many opportunities to sit down, do physical activities or play with the children.

The countryside around Saint-Geniès-Bellevue, a few kilometres from Toulouse. However, it is best to walk during dry weather, as some sections along the stream are very muddy.

A lemniscate-shaped (figure-8) circular in the Lauragais region, from Auzielle to Fourquevaux via Odars. Option to split the circular in two: Auzielle-Odars or Odars-Fourquevaux. Very slight elevation gain. Suitable for families.

Walk between the terminus of line B at Borderouge and Launaguet Town Hall. This route links a recent neighbourhood of Toulouse, built from 2010 onwards, with a 19th-century château that houses the municipal services of the town of Launaguet. After crossing the Rocade Nord, the route passes along paths running alongside the Hers river and residential areas. A bridge leads into Aucamville through a landscaped natural area. The path then takes us to Launaguet, where we can visit the town hall and its park, which offers a remarkable view.

A path for jogging or walking off the beaten track and finding yourself surrounded by nature in the hills north of Toulouse, while remaining very close to the city. You can admire beautiful panoramic views, including a beautiful view of the city of Toulouse with the Pyrenees in the background, but only on very clear days. Depending on your physical condition, the route can be adapted in several ways, or divided into several circuits.

A few kilometres north of Toulouse, you can enjoy a lovely route through the woods, perfect for jogging, trail running or hiking.

This very easy urban walk will take you to the 10 remains of the Roman ramparts of Toulouse fromthe 1st and 3rd centuries AD that are still visible today in public spaces. The duration of this walk will depend on how much time you spend observing the sites.

Starting from Lugan, a circular route through the hills of the Tarn region along small tarmac roads and wide paths.

For jogging or hiking in northern Toulouse. A rural route partly along the edge of Lac Sesquières on the banks of the Garonne, far from traffic.

This walk along both sides of the hillsides offers numerous views of the Lauragais countryside and the Hers plain. Visitors can see the typical local architecture, cultivated fields and stop for a few moments to discover the church of Belberaud and its Romanesque portal.

Starting from the peaceful village of Pouvourville, this easy walk can be enjoyed in all seasons. The signs are everywhere, guiding us along the tree-lined path to the Oppidum de Cluzet, where the first inhabitants of Toulouse lived in the Neolithic period. From the Gallic oppidum, and all along the cliff-top path on the heights of Pech David, you can enjoy magnificent views of the Garonne River flowing through the Toulouse plain.

This walk offers beautiful 360° views from the Chemin de Ronde de Montjoire. Explore this town, a stronghold of the Cathar resistance, as you walk through fields and along ridge paths.

Starting from the Comtesse dovecote, this walk on the outskirts of Toulouse allows you to discover some of the heritage sites of Ramonville and Auzeville, while following paths that are captivating for their plant and botanical diversity.

The circuit includes a few short tarmac sections but also many paths, greenery and beautiful landscapes; a surprising circuit so close to Toulouse.

A pleasant circular starting from the centre of Castanet-Tolosan, which partly follows the GR®653, the route from Arles to Compostela, and allows you to discover the peace and nature of the Lauragais hills. In good weather, the view of the Pyrenees from the Rebigue orientation table is magnificent. A short walk for jogging or hiking. Enjoy a superb panorama of the northern Toulouse countryside and a walk through the oak woods, avoiding traffic as much as possible.

Connecting the village of Vieille-Toulouse to that of Pechbusque via the Way of St James, this walk takes hikers through wooded, shaded areas crossed by the Bécane stream. The church of Pechbusque, a stopping place for pilgrims, will charm visitors with its stained glass windows and furnishings. Strongly discouraged in wet weather.

Just outside Toulouse, this is a short, invigorating circuit. There is a bit of tarmac when crossing Castanet (1.3 km), but the rest is made up of paths and beautiful trails. The countryside is just a few kilometres from Toulouse. Avoid this circuit after heavy rain as some sections will be difficult to navigate.

A bucolic walk in the heart of the Fronton AOP. You will go from valley to valley through vineyards and forests. You will enjoy magnificent views of the Girou valley with the Pyrenees as a backdrop and a panoramic view of the Tarn valley from Rabastens to Montauban. The circuit is marked by 13 scent markers featuring the aromas of Fronton wines. Can you recognise them all?

A country walk through the fields and woods around Cépet (31 ). There are a few short stretches on roads open to traffic, but this does not detract from the charm of this walk on the outskirts of Toulouse.

Along the trail, you will follow rural paths and discover remarkable landscapes, cultivated plains and shady valleys. You will have an unobstructed view of the Girou plain and the hillsides. You will be accompanied by numerous butterflies, and the diverse wildlife and flora along the trail will brighten up your hike, including a private park populated by deer.

This hike will allow you to discover the territory of the commune of Giroussens. Starting from the centre of this medieval village, you will enjoy beautiful views of the Agoût and Dadou valleys. After passing near Saint-Anatole, the route ends with a walk through the forest of Giroussens.

You can enjoy superb views of the Agoût and Dadou valleys. The hike also passes through the Giroussens forest, as well as near private forests: please keep your dogs on a leash.
