(S/E) Leave the car park and take the Morchamp road. This is a small road heading east. You will have the wooded moraine on your right and the Bièvre plain on your left.
You will pass the beautiful Chanclau Pond and allotment gardens, then the road turns into a dirt track. Follow this track until you enter the town of Sillans, where the road becomes paved again.
(1) Your small road leads to a T-junction. Take the lane to the right.
This lane curves to the left and comes to an end. Follow the beautiful path opposite. It runs alongside a stream. At the end, turn right and then very quickly left (you will leave the yellow markings).
(2) You begin the only real hill of the walk, but it is beautiful. Continue your ascent, ignoring what comes from the right or left. When you come to a fork, take the wider path that climbs to the right. When the gradient levels out, you come to a first path, which you take on the left.
(3) You will then arrive at a wide, stony ridge path. Turn left again. When the path turns left, leave it and take the path opposite, which quickly begins to descend.
(4) You will arrive at a pass, at a place called Les Moilles (sign). Descend to the right. Continue your descent to the Plan ponds (sign).
(5) You will come to a small road, which you take on the right. Follow it to the third pond. It turns left on its own.
(6) Turn onto the first path on the right, into a small walnut grove. Walk alongside two other ponds and continue, ignoring any paths coming from the right or left.
(7) You will come to a crossroads (you can see the D154 road a little further on). A yellow cross blocks the path in front of you. Turn right. You will see a valley on your left, with the village of Saint-Geoirs and a hill on your right.
(8) After a while, your wide path turns to the right and leads you to a place called Les Hautes Ayes (signposted "Château des Ayes"). Turn right, but not before taking a look at the château from the crossroads. At the two forks in the path, take the left-hand branch (follow the yellow markings).
(9) You will cross the hamlet of Patouly. Your small road descends directly to Saint-Étienne. When you reach Rue Octave Chenavas, turn right to return to the roundabout where you started (S/E).
