Park in the car park near the church in Le Pin.
(S/E) Take the road south-east towards Charavines, staying on the pavements as this is the main road in Le Pin and is quite busy. At the entrance to Le Pin, join the crossroads with the Chemin de Champ Mallet at a cross.
(1) Turn right onto this wide path, following the yellow markings and signs for Pagetière and OT Charavines. Join the D17 road.
(2) Cross with great caution as this is a very busy road where vehicles travel fast. Continue with the Lac de Paladru on your left. Follow the Boutelière area and, after a short descent, you will reach the Pagetière district in Charavines.
(3) Take the second road on the right to quickly reach a hairpin bend. Continue left on the road to reach a new crossroads, Fayard. Take the road on the right at this crossroads. Shortly afterwards, the tarmac becomes a track and, following an almost horizontal path, rejoins the D17.
(4) Cross it again with the same precautions. Follow the path above this road to reach the Grange Dimière crossroads. Turn right and you will easily reach it.
(5) Take the opportunity to read the information panel explaining the complete restoration of this site. Then you have two options:
- continue along the road,
- or turn left onto the yellow-marked path that joins theGR®65further up.
The route described is the first option. You will reach the old monastery, the former Chartreuse de la Sylve Bénite Abbey.
(6) Turn right onto theGR®65, passing in front of the abbey walls. Follow the red and whiteGR® markings and enter a remarkable deciduous forest. Begin a slight descent to reach the hamlet of Chassignieux. Reach the central crossroads with four directions.
(7) Leave theGR® and turn right (signposted Le Pin) onto the small road. Pass the wash house below. Walk uphill for a short distance to reach the top of the small hill, where you will come to a junction with a farm track.
(8) Take it on the left, keep on it and return to the initial crossroads of the Chemin de Champ Mallet.
(1) Turn left onto the Route du Pin to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
