Departure from the car park in the centre of the village of Le Pin.
(S/E) From the car park, turn immediately left towards the village church and walk about 100 metres along the church until you reach Rue de la Caserne.
(1) Turn left onto this street. In front of you, on the back of a road sign, you will see theGR®65markings (red and white). Follow this street, passing by ponds, until you reach a three-way junction.
(2) Follow theGR® markings, turning right onto the street and continuing along the road until you reach a three-way junction, passing through Les Allex.
(3) Turn left towards Valencogne and continue along the tarmac road until you reach a place called Brandoux.
(4) Turn left towards Paladru, still following theGR® 65 markings. The path gradually climbs into the woods. Ignore the first turn-off on the left. At the next intersection, turn left, heading north. Ignore another turn-off on the left and continue to a crossroads.
(5) Take thesecond path on the left (west). The path then heads north-northeast. At a crossroads, turn left then immediately right, and continue northeast to the hamlet of Lambert. After the first houses, you will reach a crossroads.
(6) Turn right at an acute angle. After about 100 metres, at a fork, take the path that branches off to the right (south then south-south-west). This path is bordered on the right by woods and on the left by fields. After 500 metres, you will come to a tarmac road. Continue along this road until you reach the next crossroads in Simandre.
(7) Turn right towards Le Pin. From this point onwards, follow thePR® (yellow) markings, continuing towards Le Pin.
(8) Continue on the right, cross the hamlet of La Montagne and walk to the next three-way junction.
(9) Turn into the street that descends to the left for 150 metres until you reach the next intersection.
(10) Turn right. After about 100 metres, the tarmac road gives way to a dirt track. Continue along this track, which overlooks Lake Paladru, ignoring the perpendicular paths. After walking for 1.5 km, you will come to a tarmac road and an intersection.
(11) Cross the road and head towards the path opposite, slightly to the right. Look for the yellowPR® markings and the mountain bike sign on a post at the entrance to the path on the right. Continue along this path, which offers a superb view of Lake Paladru, until you reach the tarmac road.
(12) Once on the road, turn right. Continue along this road until you reach the fork in the road from the outward journey.
(3) Go down the street on the left and follow the route in reverse to the car park (S/E).

A lovely, easy hike with wide paths, but the signposting needs improvement, as it is non-existent in places. You have to follow the trail closely, but it's impossible to get lost.
