Car park at the church in Haut Biol.
(S/E) Leave the church square and take the D51H south (the valley is on your left and the hill is on your right).
Leave a road on your left and take the first right. It climbs towards the hill (signposted "table d'orientation-Le Bois"). Take the first right again between two buildings (ignore the yellow cross). Leave a small path and a small road on your left to join a second road.
(1) Turn left onto Chemin de l'Arête. When you reach the hamlet of L'Arête, the road becomes a dirt track. After the yellow gate to a field, turn right, then ignore another track coming from the left at the corner of a house and continue straight ahead. When you reach a fork, turn left (the right-hand track appears to be a dead end).
(2) When you come out of the woods, during grazing season, you may have to open two gates (it is very important to close them behind you). Your path descends to the right.
When you reach some buildings, immediately take the path on the left. At a stream, continue slightly to the right.
(3) You will arrive at a crossroads with a discreet sign for "Chatinet-559m". Turn left. Leave the path coming from the right and very quickly take a very discreet grassy path that branches off to the left towards the woods. Once in the woods, the path narrows considerably, but this will not last.
When you come out of the woods, you will come to a wide gravel path. Take this path on the left.
At the fork, turn right towards an isolated house. Leave a path that branches off to the right and continue towards the house.
(4) Pass the "Maison Chavrot" and enter the woods again. Follow this wide path. When it meets another path, take the one on the left. Leave another path that comes from your left to reach a clearing.
(5) You will see a sign for "Les Trois Coches - alt. 653m". Take the path on the left towards Biol le Haut (yellow signpost). Leave another path on your left.
(6) At the edge of the woods, at a fork (signposted "Aux Bois - alt. 568m"), take the right-hand path towards Biol Le Haut. You are now on the Montée du Belvédère, which descends (yes, it does!) to the church of Biol le Haut, which you will see very quickly.
(7) Take the time to walk back to the orientation table. It is basic, but will confirm the names of the various peaks. It is unfortunate that a power line has been placed in the foreground...
Back on the path, continue to the right, pass the place called Ribaillère and follow the same route as on the way there until you reach the church car park (S/E).
