This circuit is best done at the end of May during the rhododendron flowering season. You can also see a series of small waterfalls. The hike is not difficult. It can be very busy on Saturdays and Sundays (especially on the first third)

The Rossmoerder biological reserve in Offendorf offers a beautiful diversity of vegetation, including wild clematis climbing in the trees, black poplars, reed beds, and the backwaters of the Rhine populated by swans, herons, egrets, nutria, etc.

A walk through vineyards and orchards. Best done in spring to see the cherry blossoms or in autumn to enjoy the colours of the vineyards. Beautiful views of the Hornisgrinde summit and the Rhine Valley.

On this circuit around the village of Ottenhöffen, you will see five mills, a water-powered forge and... numerous self-service schnapps fountains (Schnappsbrunnen). You are asked to pay for what you consume by putting your money in the box provided. Various non-alcoholic drinks are also available.The route passes through low mountain meadows and forests.

Waterfalls, an old castle, imposing rocks, beautiful views of the Rhine plain, forests everywhere and, finally, vineyards and schnapsbrunnen. In October, there are also colours and chestnuts.

This is the largest undivided forest in France. It boasts the diversity of an ‘exception’ forest – a label awarded by the ONF to around fifteen forests in France – with a varied flora. It is teeming with mushrooms in season. There is a small nature reserve along this route.

The red of the rock, the green of the vegetation and the blue of the sky and sea in all seasons. Beautiful panoramic views of the Estérel massif, the sea and the Alps in the distance.

Black Forest route via Wolfschlucht gorge, Lukas Hütte, Ebersteinburg castle, Battert rock faces, Ritteplatte, Baden-Baden's old castle, Sophien Ruhe and Engelskanzel viewpoints offering splendid views of the town.

In the Wantzenau forest, along the Waldrhein, then along the Ill via the heron trail, you can observe herons, egrets, swans, ducks and wild geese at your leisure.

You’ll follow the Kuhlmann Weg Forest Trail, then take in the panoramic views from the Jockele Gück via the Keltischer Baumpfad (Celtic Tree Trail). You’ll then cross to the other side of the valley through the Auf der Eck vineyards and finish your walk along the River Sasbach.

Discover the Roches Plates climbing site, the Heidenstadt oppidum, the Spitzfelsen and Kanzelfels rocks, the medieval quarry and menhirs at Frohnberg, Warthenberg Castle and the Daubenschlag rock, the Roman road, the Wasserfallfelsen, the Fairy Cave, the Witches' Circle and Saint-Michel Chapel. Beautiful views of the Northern Vosges and the Alsace plain.

This route will take you from Ottenhöffen to Eichkopf, the Edelfrauengrab waterfalls, the Karlsruher Grat rocky ridge, the Scherzfelsen rock and back along the Acker river.

This hike first climbs to the Wilberg Pass along the Grand Weinbaechel. We then cross to the other side of the Hasel valley to climb up to the iconic Nideck waterfall, nestled in its wild and wooded setting, passing the Hirschfels promontory. Next, we discover the unusual elliptical enclosure of Petit Ringelsberg and the ruins of Hohenstein Castle.

This route combines beautiful paths through a lovely forest with remarkable sites: the castles of Dreistein and Hagenschloss, the Merovingian tombs, the pagan wall, the Druids’ Cave and Etichon’s Cave, the viewpoints at the Jadelot gazebo, Panorama Rock and Oberkirch Rock, the Wachstein and Schafstein rocks, Beckenfels, the Giants’ Rocks and Stollhafen, the air crash memorial, the Basilica of Saint Odile, and the ‘Path of Wonders’.

A beautiful circular route passing three iconic castles in the Andlau region: the elegant Landsberg Castle, Spesbourg Castle with its 24-metre-high keep, and Andlau Castle with its two towers. The latter two offer superb views over Andlau and the Rhine plain. This shaded route also features some beautiful rock formations: the Rocher Herrade, the Rocher du Jugement, the Rocher du Hungerplatz and the Rocher Sainte-Richarde. You can also visit the summit of the Crax and its blueberries.

Gentle climb to Eulenfels, a spectacular but little-visited rocky site. Pass through the Wusteichelsbach peat bogs before climbing gently to the breathtaking Altschlossfelsen rock formation (very popular). Return to Eppenbrunn via the Rocher de Diane, on the French-German border, and the Teufelstisch rocks.

Climb up to the Kaestenberg rock face and the10th BCP cave, then to the Fossé des Pandours via the Sentier des Menhirs. Climb up to the Breitkopf overhang via the Mélanie fountain, then to the ruiniform Rappenfels peak via the Bavarians' fountain. And finally, the Saint-Vit cave and the ruins of Greifenstein Castle.

Climb up to the rocky outcrop where the castles of Haut-Barr and the two Geroldseck castles stand, overlooking the Zorn valley. Then climb up to Brotschberg with its tower, rock and cave. Next, descend towards the Zorn via the Krappenfels rocks and climb up to the Rappenfels to reach the Saint-Vit Cave, the Marienfels and Greifenstein Castle.

A lovely climb towards the Vosges ridge along the River Pfahlrunz, with a stop at a charming little lake (unnamed). Lots of remarkable trees. Then an easy walk along theGR®5along the ridge before heading towards the farm inns at Salzbach and Uff Rain, with panoramic views of the Vosges peaks.

This circular will take you to three must-see peaks in the Estérel: Pic d'Aurelle, Pic de l'Ours and Pic du Cap Roux, combining the blue of the sea, the green of the vegetation and the red of the rock.

You walk along the ridge beside the Ruisseau du Perthus, then through the Ravin du Gratadis with its pretty little lake. From Col Aubert, you reach Col du Baladou and then Col du Perthus. You descend to Col du Mistral and reach the Sigallon bridge, passing beneath the Pic du Perthus Occidental and the Barre de Roussivau. Finally, we follow the Vallon de la Cabre. The vegetation is abundant: cork oaks, downy oaks and a few eucalyptus trees. Lavender, rosemary and heather offer a whirlwind of pleasant scents.

Gentle climb to Pas d'Adam, then walk along the mountainside to the Malpey Forest House. Then descend via the Malavalettes trail and the superb Cabre valley. Pass the Col de l'Essuyadou to reach the Lacs des Péguières lakes in their setting of mimosas (only in January and February) and eucalyptus trees. Beautiful views of the Gulf of Fréjus, Mont Vinaigre and the Estérel massif.

Ascent to the Rastel d'Agay, a superb viewpoint over the Mediterranean and the entire Estérel massif.

Ascent via the spectacular Rathsamhausen and Lutzelbourg castles, then via the Koepfel and Hagelschloss castles. Descent via the Sentier des Merveilles trail dominated by giant rocks, then partly via the Sentier des Pèlerins trail and the Lucie Fountain.

Ascent to Kerbholz from Mittlach via the Koepfle Trail. Beautiful view of Hohneck from the Kerbholz Refuge. From there, you reach Lake Altenweiher through a beautiful forest. The lake, surrounded by greenery, is ideal for a break. Then descend to Mittlach via Sapin de Kolben and the Kolbenfecht valley.

Easy hike from the pretty village of Pontaix. Ascent into the Grand Barry Forest. Descent into the Ravin des Lots. The ruins of the castle are worth visiting for the view over the Drôme, and from the village you can access the waterfalls and pools of the Ruisseau des Lots.

Discover one of the jewels of the Vercors with breathtaking views of Mont Aiguille, Grand Veymont, Valbonnais and Écrins in the distance. You may spot ibex, chamois and wild boar below between Pas de l'Essaure and Tête Chevalière.

Nature trail through the alluvial forest, alongside ponds, oxbow lakes of the Rhine and the Mühlbach. You may spot water birds and other rarer species, as well as roe deer and reptiles. The route passes through dense vegetation with numerous species of trees and plants.

The route follows the Perthus trails through cork oak, eucalyptus, arbutus, myrtle and juniper trees and, in spring, beautiful asphodels. The return journey is via the Ravin du Mal Infernet, lined with spectacular columns of red rock. Two small lakes mark the route.

A lovely walk through the Roussivau cork oak forest, followed by a steep climb up the flank of the Pic du Perthus Occidental to the Baisse Andoulette and Baisse des Charretiers plateaus. Beautiful panoramic views of the iconic peaks of the Estérel and the Gulf of Fréjus. Descent through a steep-sided valley.

Multiple panoramic views of the Barban valley, the main peaks of the Esterel and the Gulf of Fréjus. Beautiful mountain-side paths. It is possible to extend the route by climbing towards the Grand Porfait from the Carrefour de Roche Noire, then descending back onto the GR®49 via the Pas d’Adam.

Beautiful balcony-style paths through heather, maritime pines and cork oaks. Panoramic views of the sea, the Gulf of Napoule, Cannes and the Lérins Islands, the Alps, Mont Vinaigre, Les Suvières, the Pics de l’Ours and Cap Roux, and the entire Estérel Massif, as well as the Gulf of Fréjus.

Circular route via the Péguières ponds surrounded by mimosas and eucalyptus trees, the flank of Bonnet de Capelan, Col de l'Essuyadou, Carrefour de Roche Noire with views of Mont Vinaigre, Jausier, Col des Sacs and La Louve with its maritime pine forests and tree heath. Numerous viewpoints over the Gulf of Fréjus.

A very beautiful hike via the Aubert, Baladou, Perthus and Suvières passes, crossing the Estérel Massif from south to north and returning via the Vallon du Cabre de Gourin, the spectacular Ravin du Perthus and the Gratadis. Fine specimens of cork oak. Many magnificent asphodels on the Gratadis in spring.
