Tour of the Barre de Roussivau and the Pic du Perthus Occidental

From the D100, between Valescure and Agay, take the Roussiveau road to the car park at the Roussivau Forest House.

(S/E) Go through the barrier and follow the road up towards the Pont du Perthus. At the sharp left-hand bend, leave the road and take the path on the left, which soon leads to a junction.

(1) Turn right onto the hillside path beneath the Barre de Roussivau. Cross a concrete ford and walk for a few dozen metres.

(2) Turn left at the three-way junction and continue along the southern flank of the Pic du Perthus Ocidental.

(3) Turn left again and now climb the path on the north-eastern slope of the peak.

(4) Head left and continue climbing: panoramic views of Mont Vinaigre, Les Suvières and Pic de l'Ours. Join a track.

(5) Follow it to the right: lovely view of the Gulf of Fréjus. Reach the Baisse Andoulette.

(6) Leave the track and follow the path climbing up opposite to La Baisse des Charretiers.

(7) Head down to the left towards the Carrefour de Colle Noire.

(8) Before reaching it, turn left into a valley hollow. At first, the path follows a stream bed and is rocky. It then becomes easier and eventually leads onto the Castellli track at the Pont du Migranier.

(9) Turn left to follow the track and reach the Pont de Sigallon.

(10) Cross the bridge and continue along the track to return to the car park at the Roussivau Forest House (S/E).
