(S/E) From the car park, cross the small park to the right of the station. Walk 50 metres up Allerheiligenstrasse to the right, then turn left into Albert-Köhler-Strasse.
(1) After 100 metres, turn right onto Hildahain Street towards Karlsruher Grat. Go up the path on the right. At the top of the path, there is a viewpoint overlooking Ottenhöfen and the Black Forest. Cross Blöchereckstrasse and go up the path on the right.
(2) Cross the car park of the Achertal Clinic and take Markgraf-Bernhard-Strasse on the right. Go to the end of this street and climb the path into the forest towards Karlsruher Grat.
(3) Turn right at the entrance to the village towards Hübschberg/Blöchereck. Follow the yellow diamond markings. At the next fork, go straight ahead towards Karlsruher Grat. Cross a path and pass the summit of Eichkopf. The path descends towards the waterfalls. Pass by the Eichkophütte.
(4) Cross the road and go down the small road on the left. After 200 m, turn left onto the path. After several hairpin bends, you will arrive at the waterfall car park.
(5) Walk back up along the stream, then along the waterfalls via the numerous steps and footbridges. When you reach a flat area, cross a path. Note the old romantic bridge on the right and continue along the stream. At the next fork, continue to the right.
(6) Turn left and follow the path up along the stream. Turn left at the Eichhald sign. At the Herrenschroffen viewpoint, enjoy the beautiful view of the Karlsruher Grat and the Gottschlägtal valley. Continue along the path that turns right.
(7) At the Am Karlsruher Grat sign, take the path opposite towards Bosenstein. Turn right, then right again. Ignore the Aloise Ffad path. Turn right, then right again at the hairpin bend. At the next fork, rejoin the path that runs along the Karlsruhe Grat ridge.
(8) Turn left towards Bosensteiner Eck. Turn left onto the forest road and pass the Gasthaus Bosenstein. You will arrive at a viewpoint over the Hornisgrinde and the valley, which is ideal for a picnic. Continue straight on to Brenntnerschroffen.
(9) After enjoying the beautiful view, retrace your steps and turn onto thefirst path on the left. At the Almpfadhütte, go down the road on the left and after 20 metres, at the Fuchmichelhof sign, go down the path on the right towards Deckerhöfe.
(10) Turn right at the fork. At the next junction, continue straight ahead and climb up to the Scherzfelsen rock.
(11) Enjoy the view of Ottenhöfen and Seebach, then continue on the path to the left as you come back down from the rock. Turn right onto the next path, then after 100 m, descend the path to the left. Turn left.
(12) Shortly afterwards, descend the path on the left (a path climbs to the right towards Kernhof 100 m away), then at the next bend, continue straight ahead on the path. At the five-way junction, turn left and descend the path on the right at the edge of the forest. Cross the meadows to Hinterseebach.
(13) Turn right onto Ruhesteinstrasse, pass the Seebach Hotel and after 100 m, go down the street on the left towards Ottenhöfen. Turn left in front of the next house and cross the bridge over the Acker river.
(14) Turn left onto Acherweg and continue straight ahead when you reach the road. Enter the village. At the crossroads, go straight ahead between the stacks of planks from the sawmill. Acherweg continues on the other side of the depot. Stay on the path that runs alongside the river, then continue straight ahead onto Gewerbstrasse. Cross the road and continue.
(15) After the park, cross the covered bridge and turn right after the next one, towards Ottenhöfen. Turn right onto the road, cross the bridge and turn left after the sawmill. Turn left and then left again after the bridge. Continue along the cycle path.
(16) Turn right onto Ackertäler Heimatpfad and then left onto the road. Go down the next road on the left, turn left onto Ruhesteinestrasse and cross the bridge.
(17) Turn right in front of a restaurant towards Hildarain (Mühlenweg). Cross a bridge, then turn right. Leave the path on the left. On the right, opposite a small church, you can see an old water-powered forge. Turn right at the end of the street, then cross the park on the left and head for the station car park (S/E).
. A hike with some difficult climbs but no regrets. The Black Forest is beautiful. We need even more hikes with Viso Rando to visit the Black Forest.
