From the D100 between Agay and Valescure, take the Route du Pic de l'Ours, pass the barrier, then the Maison Forestière du Gratadis, head down towards the Grenouillet ford and turn left towards the Col de Belle Barbe car park.
(S/E) Climb the path opposite the road, turn right to go round the Pic du Baladou on the right; shortly afterwards, turn right and continue straight on to the Col Aubert.
(1) Continue straight on to the Col du Baladou.
(2) Cross the track and follow the path up towards the summit of Perthus Oriental. Turn right and continue to Col du Perthus.
(3) Continue along the path opposite to the Baisse de la Petite Vache.
(4) Turn onto the path on the left. Ignore the path on the right (unless you wish to pass close to the summit on the right).
(5) Turn right and follow the path up to the Baisse de la Grosse Vache.
(6) Turn onto the path on the left to reach Baisse de Mathieu.
(7) Turn onto the path on the left to go round the small summit on the left and join the Chemin du Col de Suvières.
(8) Turn onto the path on the left and you will soon reach the Col des Suvières.
(9) Head down the path on the left and cross the stream bed.
(10) Turn left and descend into the ravine, crossing three stream beds and several scree slopes.
(11) Cross the stream just before the Gabre de Guourin reservoir. Walk along the right-hand side of the lake and continue to the track. Turn right onto the track.
(12) Leave the track at the left-hand bend and head down the path that runs alongside the Gabre de Guourin. Continue to the Pont des Cantines.
(13) Turn left onto the track. Cross the bridge and continue through the Ravin du Perthus to the Pont du Perthus.
(14) Cross the bridge to the left and head up the road towards the Col du Mistral.
(15) Take the path (unmarked) on the left at the right-hand bend. Shortly afterwards, turn right onto the track, reach the Col du Mitral junction and continue straight on along the Route du Perthus until the circular loop on the right.
(16) Turn onto the path on the left and continue to a junction.
(17) Turn onto the path furthest to the left. In spring, you will see a profusion of asphodels amongst the rockroses. Turn right and ignore a path on the left.
(18) Turn left and continue straight on along the path lined with cork oaks.
(19) Turn right onto the track and, shortly afterwards, onto the path on the left. Cross the stream and the bamboo grove.
(20) Turn left onto the path, turn right and then right onto the road. Return to the car park (S/E).
