The route starts from the car park at the station. The station (Bahnhof) is on the right as you enter the village if you are coming from Achern.
The route is fully signposted with signs marked "Muhlenweg".
(S/E) From the car park, head west towards the small park (Kurpark) on the right of the station. Leave the park opposite the Plug Hotel and follow the road (Allerheiligenstraße) on the right for about 100 metres.
(1) Cross the road and turn left onto Albert-Köhler-Straße. At the end of this street, you will see an old forge (Hammerschmiede) on your left. The route then follows a path that continues along the road.
(2) Take the next street on the left. When you reach the main road (Ruhesteinstraße), turn left. After about 100 metres, cross the road and go up the street, following the signs for Mühlenweg. Pass the Koenigerhof house with its mill (and schnapps fountain). Turn left and follow this road. Pass a youth centre (Jugendhaus Saint-Martin). Shortly afterwards, take the path on the left for about 100 metres.
(3) Take the path on the right. Turn left at the next junction. Continue along the path downhill. When you reach the houses, continue along the road slightly uphill until you reach the Y-junction after the last houses.
(4) At the crossroads, take the path on the left that turns left onto Mühlenweg and continue for about 1 km.
(5) At the crossroads, turn right towards Benzmühle. You will see the mill on your left. You can take the small path to see it up close and, if you are lucky, you may see it in operation. In the surrounding area, you will see farmyard animals, deer and wild boar in enclosures.
(6) From Benzmühlet, follow the path down towards the valley. Turn left and you will come to a road. Continue downhill
(7) Turn right in front of the Schmälzlehof, which also has a mill. Shortly afterwards, continue straight ahead. Turn left at the Puishof farm shop and descend towards the road. Follow the railway line to the right.
(8) Turn left, cross the railway line, then the road and the Acher river. Turn left.
(9) Turn left onto a cycle path towards Furschenbach.
(10) Turn right towards Rainbauermühle. Pass through the hamlet of Winterseite. Pass to the left of the Am Rain farm.
(11) Join the path that runs alongside the Acher river. On your left, you will see the Rainbauern-mühle mill. Pass a farm and another Schnappsbrunnen.
(12) At the next crossroads, go up the street on the right. Immediately on the right, you will see the Mühlenhof. You will arrive at a farm and a pig farm which humorously warns us that "if it smells bad, it's because your deodorant is no longer working". Continue along this road, then turn left at the next fork. Go down into a valley. Where the road crosses a stream, you will see another mill (Bühler-Mühle) 20 metres on your left.
(13) At the next crossroads, cross and go up the path on the right. Stay on this path, and after about 1 km it descends to a road.
(14) Turn completely left and follow the road to Ottenhöffen. On the descent, you will pass the Schulze-Bure-Mühle.
(15) At the bottom of the road, just next to the fire station on your right, turn right along the river and the railway line. At the end of the street, take the path on the left.
(16) Go down to the left along a zigzag path that leads to the station car park. (S/E)
