Access to the starting point: in Offendorf, take the road leading to the Port of Offendorf and the Rhine. Park at the crossroads just before the port (the EDF road on the left is now closed to traffic).
(S/E) Take the path on the left at the top of the dyke. Walk along Offendorf Port towards the Beilenkopf fishing pond.
(1) At the second right-hand bend, go down the dyke via a path, cross the road and turn right for about 20 metres.
(2) Take the path on the left and enter the forest. Walk along the fishing pond for about 100 metres.
(3) Turn left. After 60 metres, ignore the path on the right at the "Réserve biologique du Rossmoerder" sign and go through the gate. Ignore the path on the left. The path then turns right.
(4) At the crossroads of four paths marked with plot numbers 13, 14, 15 and 16, turn left. After a long straight stretch, cross a small wooden bridge over a backwater of the Rhine and continue straight ahead.
(5) At the crossroads, go straight ahead. At the end of the path, continue along the road to the Rossmoerder pond, which offers a beautiful view (from here you can also climb up onto the Rhine dyke).
(6) Return by the same route to junction 5 and turn right. Cross a small bridge (note the freshwater mussels in the river) and continue to the T-junction.
(7) Turn right and cross the small bridge. Walk about ten metres and you will find a path on the left that is not very visible.
(8) Take the path on the left and walk along the backwater of the Rhine through tall grass. The path then enters the hazelnut forest. Cross a path at an old bunker and follow the path that winds between the hazelnut trees along the backwater of the Rhine. Ignore a cross path with a small bridge on the left and reach a junction with a wider path.
(9) Take the path on the left to a small bridge 50 metres above a backwater of the Rhine, then continue to a second bridge 100 metres away. Retrace your steps to the previous junction.
(9) Continue to the left. Ignore a path on the right, then another on the left, and go straight ahead at the next junction.
(10) At the next crossroads, turn left and walk about 100 metres until you reach a path on the right. Follow the path on the right and you will reach the old Rhine dyke. Follow the path on the left. Ignore the path on the right which leads to Offendorf. You will arrive at the crossroads with the Rhine road.
(11) Continue straight ahead on the Rhine road. After a left-hand bend, cross a bridge and continue to the car park at the start (S/E).
