A summit offering superb views of both Lake Geneva and the Chablais massif. This route via the south face offers a walk in a beautiful natural setting. It also avoids the hassle of the ski lifts at the Thollon ski resort (north face, more crowded).

From the summit, the highest in the region along with the neighbouring Mont de Grange (2,432 m), there is a superb panorama of Lake Geneva, the Chablais peaks, the Swiss Alps and the Mont Blanc massif. An excellent family hike. You can go as far as the pass or stop at the lake, which is already a very beautiful setting. This is the upstream section of this series of three walks dedicated to the Bièvre. A very pleasant route along the river and its ponds, in a setting that is mostly bucolic. A walk from station to station, the length of which can be adapted according to conditions or preference.

In the footsteps of Jean Racine, in places steeped in history. A walk through a variety of environments, between forests, meadows and cultivated fields, with a lovely view of the ancient Abbey of Port-Royal des Champs.

The first part of the route follows the upper reaches of the Orge river in a very bucolic setting. The second part is on a cultivated plateau with extensive views. The end of the route is in the forest, with beautiful trees here and there.

This is the stage with the most elevation gain, but it is superb! The passage along the ledge above the Gorges de la Jonte offers magnificent aerial views. It is also a great place to watch vultures in flight.

A stage that allows you to fully appreciate the wide open spaces of the Causse! A very pleasant walk, with some beautiful views along the edge of the plateau.

The final stage of this walk, and undoubtedly the easiest. The path follows the course of the Tarn and offers beautiful views of the river at various points.

A loop west of Rambouillet, alternating between forest and cultivated fields. Several passages along two charming rivers, the Guéville and the Drouette.

A course over hills, with beautiful views of the Massif des Trois Pignons. Passages on platières in the middle of the moor with an unobstructed view, interspersed with passages in undergrowth and amid boulders. A varied, rather sporty hike. N.B. The drop is probably underestimated: expect something more in the order of 300 metres.

A hike on both sides of the Petit Morin valley, shortly before it joins the Marne. Varied landscapes in a region rich in heritage. A generally bucolic and peaceful setting.

This route takes in places of remembrance that were the scene of fierce fighting during the Battle of Ourcq from 5 to 10 September 1914, at the start of the Battle of the Marne. The hike is mostly on cultivated plains, with a few sections in woodland.

A beautiful deciduous forest. A pleasant walk on dry ground, mostly on wide paths. A very short walk, accessible to all, for a breath of fresh air in the morning or afternoon.

A short climb to a summit located on the watershed between the Caribbean coast and the Atlantic coast of Basse-Terre. On a clear day, there are views of the sea on both sides.

Le Morne Léger won’t offer you a sweeping view, but the climb, which is not difficult, will treat you to the lovely atmosphere of a tropical forest.

Nestled at the foot of Tête du Ruitor and its glaciers, within a beautiful setting, Saint-Grat Lake is the highlight of any hike in its own right. Through the final twists and turns before the lake, the slope is smooth and the route straightforward. The next climb much steeper, leading to Refuge Adami gives you a stunning view point.

A two part hike. First up the Doire de Valgrisenche, a steady slope offering a leafy, green landscape. From the refuge, the landscape becomes essentially mineral and the slope steeper all the way to Vuert's small perched lake. Stunning high mountain surroundings.

At an altitude of over 3,000 metres, there is a magnificent viewpoint over the Aiguilles Rouges and the Mont Blanc massif. This is a long and demanding hike in a wild setting offering superb panoramic views. This hike can be done in a single day (Very Difficult) or over two days with a night in a refuge (Difficult).

Please note: a hiker reported in August 2026 that access to the lake is prohibited due to forest fires. Check before setting off. A climb to a high-altitude lake, set in beautiful mountain scenery. A varied route that starts in a pine forest, continues through rocky terrain and ends amidst pastures.
