Description of the walk

Start from Luzé. Park in the car park near the church and the pond, between a playground and recycling bins, at the village exit on the D110 towards Marigny-Marmande.

No signposting

(S/E) Follow the D110 towards the clearly visible church and cross the small bridge over a river. Walk past the church on your right and arrive at a junction (war memorial on the left).

(1) Turn left towards Braslou. Pass the Impasse des Prairies on the left and continue along the road.

(2) At the foot of a hill, turn left towards La Touche and La Piocherie. Walk alongside a wood on your left.

(3) At the start of a right-hand bend, leave the road and take a track on the left, skirting a pond on your right. Shortly afterwards, at the corner of the pond, turn right onto a grassy path. Climb steadily between the fields.

(4) At the top, leave the old farmstead of La Touche Neuve on your right and walk alongside fenced meadows on your right. Return to the tarmac road at the first houses in the hamlet of Les Coupeaux.

(5) You’ll come out onto a small road; follow it to the right as it climbs gently. Pass by the foot of a solitary walnut tree. At the T-junction, turn left and cross the hamlet of La Piocherie.

(6) At the first junction (signpost indicating Le Petit Marigny to the left), turn right onto a wide grassy track running parallel to a power line. After about 500 m, take the first track on the right, towards a small wood. Walk alongside a vineyard plot on your left.

(7) At the corner of this plot, at a three-way junction in the path, veer left. Further on, cross a wooded area (fruit trees). Cross a small road and continue along the path opposite. Walk alongside a copse on your right and arrive at a T-junction at the top of a slope (beautiful view over a pond).

(8) Then turn right and pass the old farmstead of La Melletière. At the next junction (elevation 108), go straight on. Pass three walnut trees at the side of the path and arrive at a crossroads (view of a dovecote down to the left).

(9) Continue straight on and stay on the higher ground. Cross the D114 (cross) and continue downhill along the grassy path opposite. Further on, you’ll rejoin the tarmac after the first house.

(10) At the “give way” sign, cross the D110, follow it to the right and enter Luzé. Cross the D114 on the right-hand side and immediately reach a junction at the foot of the town hall.

(11) Turn left, leaving the town hall on your right, and cross a river (wash house). Turn right immediately, leaving the playground on your left, and return to the starting car park (S/E).
