La Roche Renard circular
This is a moderate hike on a path that crosses a magnificent Vosges forest. Between the trees towards the Col du Chantoiseau, there is a view of the Swiss Jura. Experienced hikers can take a detour from the Chantoiseau to Tremonkopf for a 360° view. The descent from Chantoiseau reveals a view of Planche des Belles Filles and Ballon d'Alsace. The end of the route crosses the pretty village of Planche le Prêtre.

On the heights of Lamadeleine-Val-des-Anges
In the hills above Lamadeleine-Val-des-Anges, starting from one of the smallest and most picturesque villages in the Belfort area, you will climb the Baerenkopf to the legendary refuge of the same name.

Schlumpf and Baerenkopf ridges from Lamadeleine-Val-des-Anges
Starting from the small village of Lamadeleine-Val-des-Anges at the bottom of the Madeleine river valley, there is a pleasant climb through the forest to the Lochberg Pass via the Sept Chemins and Chat passes. From the Col du Lochberg, a circular route will allow us to discover the stubble fields and ridges of the Schlumpf with beautiful views of the upper Doller valley and the nearby peaks, as well as its magnificent log shelters (Sommerseite, Graber) before returning to the pass via the Fennematt and the Source de la Doller. Return to the starting point via the summit of Baerenkopf, Haquin and Trou du Loup.

From the Ferme du Mont Jean to the Col du Chantoiseau
This hike begins on the western flank of Mont Jean, through a forest interspersed with clearings offering magnificent views of the Savoureuse valley and the surrounding peaks. It reaches its peak at the Col du Chantoiseau, a haven of peace at the crossroads, at the foot of the Tremontkopf, which offers a view of the Riervescemont valley and its hills.
The source of the Doller at the start of the Lachtelweiher
This hike will take you to the Source de la Doller, which, contrary to what you might think, does not originate at the Ballon d'Alsace, but below the Schlumpf. During the hike, you will enjoy beautiful views of the Doller valley and have the opportunity to eat at one of the farmhouse inns along the route.
From Lachtelweiher, a circular route that passes via the summits of the Baerenkopf and the Sudel
From Lachtelweiher (in the municipality of Kirchberg), a pleasant circular route follows the Doller valley, passing over the peaks of Baerenkopf and Sudel in the Southern Vosges and through the farmhouse inns at Lochberg and Bruckenwald. This circular route also has historical interest as it follows, for a long stretch along the ridge, theGR®5, which runs along the former border between France and Germany from 1871 until the First World War.

The Savoureuse Valley
A very beautiful hike with a stunning view from the summit of Ballon d'Alsace over two other ballons. This hike takes us to the remarkable sites of Saut de la Truite, Rummel Waterfall, Étang du Petit Haut and Vierge du Ballon.
The Wissgrut stubble fields via the Wagenstall waterfalls
The summit peaks of the Vosges are always a delight for hikers because of the magnificent views they offer. Those of the Wissgrut (or Wisskritt) between the Belfort gap and the Masevaux valley are remarkable. You will reach them via the beautiful Wagenstall waterfalls and continue along the ridge and the upper Fennematt valley, where the Doller river has its source, and its beautiful panoramic trail.
Circular route from the Lochberg Farm Inn starting from Schlumpf
In the Doller valley, the climb to the Lochberg farmhouse inn from the small ski resort of Schlumpf (Dolleren) opens up a high-altitude cirque and offers superb panoramic views of the Rossberg massif and the Ballon d’Alsace.
The mining trail in Giromagny
This hike will take you to the entrance of old silver and copper mines dating back to the 16th century, when the village of Giromagny surpassed Belfort in population.

The Brimbelles Route in Giromagny
A very pleasant walk offering the chance to discover the architectural treasures of Giromagny. Some scenery featuring meadows and forests, and beautiful views over the Savoureuse valley. The route passes by Fort Dorsner, which formed part of the defence line after 1870. The route is signposted.

Tour of the Gentiane and Tremontkopf
This pretty route through meadows and woods is not difficult and the elevation gain is very moderate. It is a family walk suitable for young children. It offers some beautiful views and allows you to discover the grassy slopes of Gentiane, Wissgrut and Tremontkopf, as well as little-used forest paths.
Giromagny - Belfort
This stage is the last of the Club Vosgien's red rectangle trail through the Vosges. This stage is classified as moderate as there is virtually no elevation gain. Most of the hike takes place under forest cover. The stage starts in the small town of Giromagny and ends in the beautiful city of Belfort, passing by Bartholdi's Lion, a must-see photo spot for those completing the Vosges crossing!
Tour of Plain de la Gentiane and Wissgrut
A family walk in unspoilt, lush countryside at an average altitude of 950 m and with no difficulty. The first part of the route is below the Plain de la Gentiane, in the forest among century-old trees and lush vegetation. Once you reach the Wissgrut, the return journey is along the ridge through sun-drenched pastures with panoramic views of four departments.

A superb snowshoe hike starting from the Col de la Gentiane, near Ballon d'Alsace, 30 km north of Belfort.
This hike will allow you to discover the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Vosges and, if you are lucky enough to have clear weather, you can admire the Swiss Alps and even Mont Blanc.
On the slopes of the Grand Langenberg
Along the banks of the Doller and then the Wagenstall waterfalls, reach the peaceful stubble fields of the narrow Grand Langenberg valley near an authentic farmhouse inn. Then descend to the foot of the Ballon d'Alsace towards the impressive glacial basin of Lake Alfeld, which dominates the Doller valley. Finally, return along the tumultuous Seebach, which calms down in a wet and marshy meadow, before dying in the peat bogs of Lake Sewen.
Please note that theGR®®531is sometimes obstructed (forestry work, overgrown vegetation, fallen trees, etc.) and maintenance is sometimes delayed. In this case, take the Fennematt path along the left bank of the Doller (marked with triangles and red trestles) and rejoin the route at point (1) or point (3).
The tour of Fort de Giromagny
This lovely walk will take you to discover one of the forts designed by General Séré de Rivières to protect the Belfort Gap: Fort Dorsner, built in 1875 and reinforced in 1879.

From Sewen to Lake Alfeld
A peaceful hike that will take you to Sewen Lake and its peat bogs, then to Alfeld Lake, which is very different with its dam. The path is flat until you reach the foot of the dam, then climbs a little.
From Sewen to the Morteville rocks via the balloon
Discover the Roches de Morteville, Lake Sewen and Lake Alfeld, the large rock, the statue of Joan of Arc and the waterfalls.

Discover five lakes near the Ballon d'Alsace
This is a beautiful hike offering views of and above the lakes. You will feel cool as most of the hike takes place in the forest (open areas: downstream from the Baerenbach farmhouse inn, the same for the Gresson moyen and the Haute Bers).
Rummel Waterfalls – Étang des Roseaux – Refuge de la Grande Goutte
A very pleasant walk, easily accessible to everyone, both in terms of difficulty and navigation. It starts from a car park on the edge of the forest and follows, for the most part, a forest track. This passes by the magnificent Rummel waterfalls, then leads to the beautiful site of the Étang des Roseaux. You then cross the Plain de l'Épine forest briefly to reach the Grande Goutte clearing and its refuge, a haven of peace between Haute-Saône and Ballon d'Alsace.

Circular between Étueffont and Grosmagny
Discover a superb hike starting from Étueffont or Grosmagny, in the heart of a landscape offering a harmonious blend of forests, pretty authentic villages and peaceful ponds. Perfectly suited to nature lovers, this route will lead you to discover the splendid landscapes of the Southern Vosges. Let yourself be seduced by the tranquillity of the forests and the coolness of the ponds, true havens of biodiversity. The starting point is at the foot of the Vosges, about fifteen kilometres north of Belfort. The trail is signposted.
From the Étang du Petit Haut to the Ballon d'Alsace Bomb Disposal Unit Monument
This walk leads, without any major difficulty, to the Col du Ballon. It begins on a forest track leading to the beautiful Étang du Petit Haut, which makes a good spot for a break. Then, through the shady Fagnes forest, it leads to the ridge path at a place called Les Démineurs, where a monument dedicated to the bomb disposal experts stands.

Graber circuit via Schlumpf from Dolleren
The Graber discovery trail revives the path that serves the village farms. Walk past the Graber farmhouse inn, overlooking those of Holschlag and Kraitland, and stop off at the small Schlumpf ski resort.
