From Mont Jean to the Col du Chantoiseau and back via the Riervescemont valley

Park below the Mont Jean farm.

(S/E) Take the forest track on the right, which leads to the sheep farm, and leave the path on the left that climbs up to the Mont Jean farm.

(1) Follow the path marked with a Blue Ring on the left, which leads to the Col du Mont Jean.

(2) Turn left onto the path marked with a Yellow Disc and Red Rectangle, which leads to the Col du Chantoiseau.

(3) At the pass, turn right onto the forest track marked with a Red Ring and Yellow Disc. Pass a forest track on your left that circles the valley. You’ll come to a hairpin bend.

(4) Turn right towards the south until you reach a fork.

(5) Go straight ahead on the left and follow this forest track downhill through a series of wide bends until you reach another fork.

(6) Take the forest track on the left and follow it to a very sharp bend.

(7) Leave the forest road and turn right into the forest, taking a path that leads to the Col du Mont Jean.

(8) Turn right onto the Blue Ring marked path until you reach the fork from the outward journey.

(2) Continue straight on and, following the reverse route of the outward journey, return to the car park at the foot of the Mont Jean farm (S/E).
