Circular route from Grand Langenberg to La Gentiane via Wissgrut

Park in the car park near the Grand Langenberg farmhouse inn.

(S/E) Take the Grand Langenberg forest road heading down to the south-west. You will reach a three-way junction.

(1) Turn right and follow the La Fennematt forest road for about 300 m.

(2) Turn right onto the path marked with a Red Cross. At the junction, head diagonally left to stay on the Red Cross route.

(3) Take a sharp left-hand bend, then turn right a good hundred metres further on to head south-west again. Keep heading in this direction, following the Red Cross, to reach the Wissgrut hilltop.

(4) Go round the Wissgrut farmhouse inn, leave the path marked with the Red Cross and turn right onto the forest track marked with a Red Rectangle, which heads towards La Gentiane and passes Wissgrut (statue of the Virgin Mary) on your right. You will reach a three-way junction.

(5) Keep to the right on the forest road and leave the path marked with a Red Rectangle on your left. The two routes run parallel and head in the same direction, ending at the foot of La Gentiane.

(6) Continue to the right, heading due north, and rejoin the path marked with a Red Rectangle, which leads onto the D466.

(7) Turn right, leaving the markings behind, and go under the bridge following the D466. Walk for about 350 m to re-enter the forest and reach a junction.

(8) Take the path marked with a Red Triangle on the right, which leads to the car park near the Grand Langenberg farmhouse inn (S/E).
