Tour of Plain de la Gentiane and Wissgrut

S/E From the free car park near the Gentiane first aid station, on the edge of the Route Forestière Marcel Tassion, take this road south for a few dozen metres. Leave the forest road at this junction and turn left onto Chemin de la Goutte du Bon Pommier, which is marked with a blue disc. Continue to the fork at the old Refuge du Plain de la Gentiane.

(1) Leave the blue disc marked path that goes to the right and continue left on the snowshoe trail. Pass the old French Alpine Club refuge and, at the fork, take the path that goes to the right and continue straight ahead in the Ballon d'Alsace National Forest until you reach a hairpin bend.

(2) Turn left towards the northeast and arrive at a crossroads.

(3) Turn left, pass to the left of the Ferme-auberge du Wissgrut and continue straight ahead.

(4) Leave this stony path and turn slightly left. Continue along this ridge, passing to the left of the Wissgrut, and join the Gentiane ski slope.

(5) Turn slightly left to reach the car park (S/E).
