Description of the walk

(S/E) Set off from the Corrençon snow sports centre, following theGR® southwards (Vercors crossing route).

(1) Pass the45th parallel marker.

(2) After 1,400 metres, turn right towards Grotte Barnier.
Continue to the junction with the path leading to the Col de la Coinchette. Turn right to cross this pass and descend towards the Darbonouse plain. Once you reach the plain, turn right to climb to the Col de la Sarna via the groomed cross-country ski trail on the descent on the other side.

(3) At the Col de Sarna, walk past the Grotte de l’Ours.

(4). Once on the plain, follow the fairly wide track to the left (heading south).

(5) Follow the forest road to the turning point, then turn left onto the start of the Bacha de l’Ours trail (it’s easier with GPS; otherwise, count the bends on the map).
Follow a clearly defined valley which takes you back to theGR®91just before the Canyon des Erges.

(6) Follow the mainGR®91track to the left towards the Darbonouse plain (north).

(7) Cross the plain, following its right-hand edge and staying slightly higher up. Turn right at the sheepfold (signpost). After a short climb, follow theGR®91as it heads into the forest, passing the Carrette hut.

(8) Reach the Corrençon car park (S/E) by following theGR®91, which is clearly marked and even groomed towards the end.

Hello,
The route, which runs mainly through spruce forest, is sheltered from the wind and quite wild
You should allow for around 31 km to complete this circular route, as the route marking is a little imprecise
Signposting is in place; a very pleasant route

Hello everyone
We’ve chosen a different route: the Col de la Sarna
from late Sunday afternoon until Thursday at 11.30
For the following reason: it was extremely hot and the snow was too soft, and our rucksacks were a bit heavy; we were on snowshoes and had to alter our route to the Carrette hut, where we spent the night
A direct route to the Cabane du Milieu, a very early start for the Cabane du Jasse du Play, a direct detour via the Jasse la de Chau and a stop at the Grande Cabane Bergerie for a well-deserved long break. As the snow was too soft, we couldn’t descend via the Pre Peyret, so we turned back towards the Cabane de la Jasse Play and, of course, headed home.
THIS WEEKEND, the snow was too soft for snowshoes, despite setting off at 4 am.
I’ll post a few photos and the route.

A superb hike; when done on snowshoes, a GPS is essential.
