Park in the Chemin des Cochettes car park in Villard-de-Lans, Rue Albert Pietri, opposite a ski lift.
(S/E) Take the Chemin des Cochettes, which runs alongside the ski lift to a junction.
(1) Take the signposted path on the left which climbs eastwards to reach the Croix des Plâtres.
(2) Continue straight ahead along an unmarked path that climbs steadily, still heading east, until you reach the Gobert path (GR®91).
(3) Turn left onto this path, following a shaded, balcony-like route to Combe Chaulange, situated in a sharp, open bend.
(4) Leave theGR®91and turn right onto a steep, straight slope of rocks and grass to reach a fork.
(5) Turn right and continue the climb along the path which crosses a small pass, then heads south and follows the lower part of the plateau along gentler, open slopes, before turning towards Roc Cornafion, following the edge of the plateau.
(6) Descend into the Combe de Pissavache down steep slopes, keeping clear of the scree until you find a path that passes above a clump of trees, turns west and leads to a tapped spring.
(7) From here, the path is clearly marked and leads to a junction near a spring.
(8) Turn right. Descend along a wooded ridge, following the path which crosses the Gobert trail (GR®91), then turn left onto a wide path which meets another cross-country path.
(9) Turn right, continue the descent past the Magdelen fountain and arrive near a barn.
(10) After a few metres, turn left onto a wide, shaded path that leads back to the Chemin des Cochettes.
(1) Turn right onto it and head down in the opposite direction to the way you came to reach the car park (S/E).
