To reach the start of the hike, park in the Balcon de Villard car park and take the "Côte 2000" cable car, which arrives at an altitude of 1,720 metres (operates in summer from June onwards).
(S) At the arrival station, take the path on the left that goes uphill.
After passing under the ski lift three times, you will come to a wide bend to the right.
(1) Take the path on the left (signposted: Lac de la Moucherolle via les rochers de Jaux, marked in yellow and green). Two or three sections are quite vertiginous but do not present any difficulty. Note: this path is not shown in its entirety on the maps. You will find yourself back under the Rochers des Jaux.
(2) Take the trail (marked in yellow and green) that branches off to the right and runs alongside the track, rejoining it a little further on (ignore the trail that goes straight ahead). Reach the top of the Crêtes chairlift.
(3) Go around the chairlift station and, just after the hut, take the ski trail that branches off to the left. When you reach the path, follow it to the lake, ignoring all the other trails.
(4) To return from the lake, take the same path in reverse until you reach the hut and the chairlift.
(3) Pass under the chairlift and take the wide path that follows the ridge. Continue along this path until you reach the crossroads at the bend in the road.
(1) Continue until you reach the right side of the departure gondola.
(5) Turn right and descend the ski slopes towards the small lake below.
(6) Follow it for a few metres on the right and take the small path on the right. Descend towards the Vallon de la Fauge (signposts and yellow and green markings). Note: when arriving from this side of the lake, the start of the path is not clearly visible. Reach the Vallon de la Fauge.
(7) Turn left towards the meadows of the valley. Continue along this path, passing the Fauge sheepfold on your right and, further on, the Fauge shelter on your left.
(8) Continue and reach the Collet des Clots crossroads.
(9) Turn left onto the path that enters the forest towards Les Glovettes. You will reach a new crossroads at Clos de la Mene.
(10) Take the path on the right, which quickly joins theGRP® des 4 Montagnes. Turn left onto thisGRP® and continue to the Glovettes roundabout.
(11) Descend to the car park and continue along the path at the end of the car park. Follow this path, which continues downhill. It leads to the road, which you follow to the left to reach the Balcon de Villard car park and the "côte 2000" cable cars (E).
