The starting point is in the hamlet of La Conversaria, accessible from Villard-de-Lans. A large car park provides ample parking.
(S/E) Leave the car park via the north exit and immediately take a good path that climbs to the right.
(1) Leave the track and take the path on the right, which begins to climb steeply after about 200 m. You will arrive at the Sentier Gobert, the end of the ascent.
(2) Take this path on the right, which runs flat towards the south-west.
(3) Roybon Hut: continue past the hut for about a hundred metres and take a path on your left that descends through the mountain pasture and then joins the forest. The descent continues to the Bergerie de la Fauge.
(4) Ignore the path coming from the left and continue along a good track.
(5) Pass the path on your left that leads to Les Clots and continue northwards along a good track.
(6) At the junction, take the first path on the right which descends towards the Ruisseau de la Fauge and then climbs up the other side.
(7) Cross the track and continue along the path opposite, which climbs gently.
(8) Ignore the path coming from the left and continue to the Abri des Plâtres.
(9) Just before the shelter, take the path on the left and, 200 m further on, keep to the right onto the path heading north. Stay on the main path, ignoring the tracks branching off to your left. You will reach a small road.
(10) Follow it to the hamlet of La Conversaria and return to the car park (S/E).
