Description of the walk

Park in the Trois Fontaines car park after Corrençon-en-Vercors.

(S/E) Take theGR®91opposite (south).

(1) After about 300m, leave theGR® to the right onto the wide track that climbs very gently. You will reach another junction of tracks.

(2) Take the track on the left and avoid the tarmac track, which is reserved for roller skiing. At the various crossroads you come to, follow the signs for Champ de la Bataille. You will reach the junction withthe GR®91.

(3) Turn right onto theGR® and head towards the Auberge de Clariant junction. Keep left on theGR® and you will soon reach the Ferme Poncet junction.

(4) Turn left onto the wide path marked in green and yellow and reach the entrance to Champ de la Bataille. At a T-junction, turn right following the markings, then reach the farm junction (which is not visible).

(5) Start a short climb to the left, followed by an equally short descent to cross the golf course at hole no. 3. Continue to the right to join the wide track.

(6) Follow the track to the left and, at elevation 1176, continue straight on to quickly rejoin theGR®91. Follow theGR® to the right.

(1) Continue straight on to the car park (S/E).

It’s probably busier during the high season. There’s plenty of shade, which is lovely. We did it at the end of the day to unwind after a longer hike in the morning.

An easy hike that’s perfect for families. It’s quite a unique experience to walk alongside the roller-ski tracks where the biathletes used to train.
Using the GPS track, this is a very easy route to follow

A really lovely walk to do with children and friends. However, if you’re with children, watch out for the mountain bikers – there are plenty of them on the route.
I had a bit of trouble finding the route back to complete the circular route as I’d imagined.
Overall, we were happy with this route

A short family walk through a beautiful natural area ideal for a range of sporting activities: cross-country skiing, roller skiing, golf, hiking, mountain biking, running, not to mention the biathlon shooting range.
You can breathe in the fresh air of the nearby Vercors High Plateaus.

It’s not exactly easy to find your way through a maze of tracks, paths, trails and logging tracks. The map isn’t always much help. So you often need to check your route on the VISORANDO app to make sure you’re following the right path.

At point (4), the junction at Ferme Poncet is specifically named ‘La Croix de Messe’ and you must follow the direction of ‘La Baraque de Froment’. At the start of this path, the green and yellow markings are almost non-existent; they reappear further on.

At point (5), the farm crossroads is called ‘La Baraque de Froment’

Finally, it is true that the car park at the three fountains is better known as the ‘Parking du golf’.

Thanks to Bernardino for suggesting this lovely outing.

A lovely walk with children and a pushchair.
Problem: the car park at Les 3 Fontaines isn’t well known, so it’s better to say: the golf course car park.

The layout of the area is so complicated by the biathlon stadium and the golf course that we had trouble spotting the signposted return paths.... that said, a round trip along the GR91 in the lovely weather we had was brilliant, and we were really pleased with the walk!
