When you arrive in Villard-de-Lans, stay on the main road (do not cross the village) and follow the signs for Corrençon until you reach the Balmette crossroads, then climb up to Les Glovettes.
Park in the car park in the centre of the roundabout!

(S/E) Take the tarmac road from Les Glovettes heading north. Pass the lodge and you will come to a fork in the road.
(1) Turn right and climb up towards the hamlet of Les Clots. Cross the car park and take the path on the left that climbs towards Vallon de la Fauge. At the first three-way junction, turn left. Then, on the descent, after the hairpin bend, look for the path on the left at an altitude of 1245 metres that leads downhill.
(2) Continue down this path and ignore the first path on the right. Continue to the Cascade de la Fauge crossroads.
(3) Turn right to descend into the stream bed and climb back up to the foot of the waterfall.
Then return to the crossroads.
(3) Continue straight ahead along the stream until you reach Pont de l'Amour.
(4) Do not cross the bridge, but continue on the left bank of the stream until you reach the edge of the forest (view of Villard-de-Lans). You will come to a crossroads at an altitude of 1112 metres.
(5) Turn left at 170°. Take the (green) track that climbs up through the woods. At the second hairpin bend, take the path that opens up opposite in the second bend.
(6) Cross the road carefully, despite the lack of traffic, then climb up to the Croix des Clots and continue straight on along the tarmac road to the crossroads by the lodge you passed on the way there.
(1) Turn right and follow the outward route in reverse to the car park (S/E).
