Circular route around the three hamlets beneath the Balcons de Villard

Park at the bottom of the resort car park, at the entrance to the hamlet of Les Pouteils. On the edge of the Route de la Cote 2000 (D215B).

(S/E) Start the walk by taking the path leading uphill opposite (pedestrian crossing) and running above the Route de la Cote 2000 until you reach a cross.

(1) Continue straight ahead (do not go up to the right) to reach the next crossroads known as “Le Jarasset”.

(2) Turn left to head down to the hamlet of Les Guillets, taking care when crossing the D215b (Route de la Cote 2000) which leads up to the resort, then continue straight on down to the centre of Les Guillets, at the junction with the Chemin des Guillets.

(3) Turn left, leaving the cul-de-sac on your right and the Passage du Bassin on your left, then at the first three-way junction, head down to the right (to avoid going back up onto the main road) and reach the hamlet’s exit at the start of the Chemin de la Croix.

(4) Take this path on the right which descends into the valley, then climbs back up along the edge of the fields and forest, to reach the hamlet of Les Bouchards. Here you join the Villard-de-Lans / Corrençon section of the Via Vercors.
Once in the centre of the hamlet, turn left and walk on for about thirty metres.

(5) Take the path on the left which leads to Les Balcons de Villard / Les Pouteils, and continue straight on towards Les Pouteils. Cross this hamlet, keeping to the road (and do not enter the courtyards), until you reach a junction in a bend in the road at the centre of the hamlet. Go round the house in the centre, keeping the street on your left, and continue towards the end of the hamlet and the Route de la Cote 2000 (S/E).

Do stop off at the Fromagerie de la ferme aux Guillets.
