A pleasant and easy walk through fields where traditional crops such as beetroot, wheat and winter barley alternate, sometimes interspersed with fields of potatoes, corn and even flax. The walk passes in front of the famous Lantin prison and Fort Lantin (one of the twelve forts built to defend Liège at the end of the 19th century) and returns to its starting point via the RAVeL (Réseau Autonome des Voies Lentes), built on the former Liers-Ans railway line.

This lovely walk gradually follows the Orchimont stream along the old local road (line 553) and returns via the Bellefontaine stream valley. At the entrance to the village of Bellefontaine, a short detour leads to the Saint-Furcy Fountain and the Grotto of Notre-Dame de Bellefontaine.

An easy walk around the village of La Forêt, starting from Vresse-sur-Semois and passing by the Sentier des Légendes and the Pont de Claies (uphill in summer, otherwise take the alternative route on the way back).

An easy walk between Vresse and Membre, following the left bank of the Semois and returning halfway up the valley via the GR®®.

This pleasant route follows the Nafraiture stream upstream to the village of the same name, reaches the Belgian-French border and returns via the other side of the same valley.

This walk explores the site and the immediate surroundings of the stream and the Étangs de la Julienne, moving from the bottom of the valley up to its slopes and offering some lovely views of the Meuse valley along the way.

A stone's throw from the heart of the city, this route takes walkers through meadows and woods, avoiding crowded neighbourhoods and streets, while offering breathtaking views of the city and the Meuse valley. It is not uncommon to come across a herd of sheep or cattle. The region's mining past is also evident. At the lowest point of the route, you will pass through the old quarter of Liège with its dead-end streets and stairways.

This walk, starting from Florzé Castle, runs alongside the Amblève valley at a distance and returns through the fields and woods of the Sprimont region. NB: description updated on 30.12.22

A pleasant, easy walk through woods and countryside in the Liège Ardennes.

This hike, on the borders of Wallonia, Flanders and the Netherlands, crosses the Montagne Saint-Pierre on either side of the Albert Canal, ending at the Lanaye lock, which allows barges to reach the Meuse in the direction of Maastricht.Before that, the route follows small paths along the Geer. There are several beautiful views of the Meuse valley, the locks and the nearby hills.

This route follows the stream and ponds of La Julienne and continues along the valley towards Housse to reach Fort de Barchon, situated slightly higher up. The return journey takes you round the village of Housse and back into the La Julienne site via the eastern hillside.

This walk on the edge of Hesbaye takes us to the Geer Valley, passing through expanses of farmland, low-stem orchards and wooded strips, whilst offering fine views of the valley.

On the edge of Hesbaye, vast fields still make up the bulk of the landscape. This walk, however, takes you along a few tree-lined paths and through wooded valleys, and also allows you to discover a typical (and listed) limestone meadow that has developed following the reclamation of a former quarry. The last village to the west of the Hesbaye plateau and therefore surrounded by fields, Houtain-Saint-Siméon is also ideally situated for exploring the routes of the Geer Valley. A very beautiful walk on the outskirts of Liège, mainly through woods. It passes through the Streupas moor, joins the Ourthe and runs parallel to it as far as Colonster Castle, before returning through the Sart Tilman woods.

A pleasant and varied walk on the plateau and around the Geer valley. Starting from the small village of Houtain-Saint-Siméon, the route joins that of Heure-le-Romain, following tree-lined paths to reach Les Hauts de Froidmont and returning through the undergrowth on the southern slope of the Geer valley. The route passes several former quarries, now converted into nature reserves.

A varied countryside walk leading to the Hauts de Froidmont, passing through fields and tree-lined paths to reach the Geer and follow the valley floor as far as Wonck. The route runs alongside several chalk, marl and silica quarries, some of which have been abandoned and are currently being replanted, and passes several nature reserves. A very beautiful walk in the Hoyoux valley, alternating between wooded sections, open landscapes with beautiful views and charming sites.

A pleasant walk in the north-western part of the town of Tongeren, following old tree-lined railway tracks, crossing the Herkwinning Nature Reserve and taking in a few castles and fortified farms in a varied environment of copses, low-stem orchards, meadows and fields. Route proposed by the walking club "Les Pantouflards de Wihogne" (FFBMP, LG041).

A magnificent walk starting from the village of Fouron-le-Comte ('s-Gravenvoeren in Dutch), somewhat hilly, passing through the Altenbroek woodland reserve and venturing partially beyond the Belgian-Dutch border.

A beautiful and varied route following the Ry de la Haze valley and passing through the hamlets of La Haze and Chaply, before returning to the village of Lincé with sweeping views of the Amblève valley. This route is a variation on the SP-Promenade 9 route, avoiding nearly 3 km of paved roads.

The Hesbaye region of Liège is not only characterised by its rich agricultural plain, but also by its charming sites, consisting of wetlands, copses and sunken paths. This route, which starts in the village of Petit-Hallet, offers views of the vast plain, but above all allows you to discover pleasant places in the heart or on the outskirts of the villages that stretch along the Henri-Fontaine stream. A few farmhouses and castles can also be seen along the way.

A very beautiful walk in the Pays de Herve, offering lovely views over the Val de la Berwinne and the Aubel region. The route, mainly through wooded countryside, passes by the American memorial and the Henri-Chapelle golf course.

This walk allows you to discover one of the most beautiful circular loops of the Ourthe, starting from the small town of Esneux. The highlight is the panoramic view that greets walkers from the Roche aux Faucons.

Starting from the hamlet of Chokier, on the banks of the Meuse, this route – although close to the heavy industrial estates of the Meuse region – offers a pleasant walk through refreshing, peaceful countryside. It passes through the ‘Sous les Roches’ nature reserve and runs alongside the castles of Aigremont and Chokier.

A very lovely walk, somewhat challenging, starting from Sugny, mainly through woodland but offering some fine views. Return via the ridge along the Chemin de Sedan.

An unusual walk starting from the small village of Lanaye, traversing the Montagne Saint-Pierre nature reserve from the Albert Canal, before reaching the Geer valley via the Fort d'Eben-Emael. The route also offers stunning views of the Lanaye locks and the Meuse valley across the border.

This circular route starting from Fumal winds through the Burdinale-Mehaigne Nature Park, passing successively through the villages of Huccorgne and Marneffe, before returning to Fumal via the countryside around Fallais.

A pleasant, shaded route towards the Belvédère de Membre-sur-Semois and its observation tower, starting from the villages of Vresse-sur-Semois and Laforêt. The first part of the route follows the course of the Semois, then climbs almost the entire height difference to reach the viewpoint. The rest of the route is more peaceful, winding through the Bois de Rabumont on the plateau separating the two villages.

A pleasant walk, both rural and countryside-like, along and around the streams of the Petite Gette and Henri-Fontaine in the village of Orp (municipality of Orp-Jauche). The route includes a short detour into the Paradis municipal nature and educational reserve – a former chalk quarry. Before heading back, the route takes a brief side trip to the village of Petit-Hallet, returning via the GR® 579. This route can be shortened by three kilometres if necessary.

It is always a pleasure to walk along the long lane leading to Modave Castle, to catch a glimpse of it as you pass, then to discover the small, steep-sided valley of the old village of Petit Modave, before continuing towards the hamlet of Val Tibiémont and its ford. The walk continues along the wooded banks of the Hoyoux until you reach the village of Les Avins, before returning to Modave via a section of the RAVeL cycle path, then crossing the Thier de la Croix nature reserve and finally the countryside around Linchet.

A leisurely walk towards the Mehaigne valley, starting from the village of Longpré. The route leads to the village of Huccorgne through the fields, before following the Mehaigne river to Moha and its feudal castle. Along this route, the landscape is shaped by limestone quarries, parts of which have been converted into nature reserves.

The Sclaigneaux Nature Reserve features a habitat heavily influenced by human activities over the last century. The walk crosses the reserve from one end to the other, ending at the bottom of the Loysse Stream valley. It then climbs towards the hamlet of Chant d’Oiseaux to reach the edge of the Hesbignon plateau. The descent from the village of Petit-Waret follows unobtrusive paths through meadows and fields, finally returning to the Sclaigneaux Nature Reserve.

A very lovely walk, much of it through woodland, starting from the banks of the Meuse and heading up the small valley of the Bousalle stream to reach the hamlet of the same name. The return journey takes you back up through the Bois de Gives before descending back into the valley.The route can quite easily be shortened to around ten kilometres, if necessary.

A very lovely walk offering some beautiful panoramic views of the valleys surrounding the River Samson. Starting from the small village of Bonneville, you walk along the upper slope of the Meuse towards the hamlet of Samson, then descend to the level of the stream of the same name, before climbing again towards the village of Maizeret and returning to the Samson via the ridges overlooking the village of Goyet.

The upper reaches of the Geer, between Lens-Saint-Servais and Hollogne-sur-Geer, are largely set in woodland along much of its course. This route also offers the chance to linger in the Haut-Geer nature reserve (the settling ponds of the former sugar factory) and discover its birdlife.

A Condroz walk through the valley of the Ruisseau de Solières, starting from the hamlet of Bohisseaux, leading through woods, meadows and across fields towards the village of the same name, with the return route taking you through the valley of the Ruisseau de Chessin, further south. 

A walk, presenting no particular difficulty, leading from one Condroz ridge to another in the commune of Évelette, and offering some fine views, both of the countryside and of the large surrounding farms. It passes through the villages of Tahier and Libois before reaching Évelette.

This is a somewhat challenging hike through the woods on either side of the Fond d'Ohxe valley in the Saint-Lambert National Forest.Starting from the ruins of the Church of Notre-Dame in Ombret, the circuit skirts the hamlet of Les Communes before climbing into the woods, then descending shortly afterwards into the Fond d'Ohxe and climbing back up the other side through the Bois des Dames and Bourgogne woods. The return journey is again through the woods, on the opposite side, offering some beautiful views of the Meuse valley at the end of the walk.

A very beautiful, somewhat hilly hike starting from Fouron-Saint-Pierre, taking you through the Konenbos, Veursbos and Vrouwenbos forest reserves, interspersed with more rural landscapes. The route also crosses the Pietershof vineyard. At the end of the walk, you can take a break at the Commanderie, either to visit the site or to enjoy a delicious rainbow trout, as there is a fish farm (the oldest in Belgium!) next door.

Starting from Spy Church, overlooking the square of the same name, the route leads to the small village of Onoz through fields, which can be seen at the bottom of a wooded valley along the Orneau. From there, shaded paths follow the banks of the stream and then explore the Bois de la Veuve and Bois du Bètch-aus-Rotches woods, located on the side of the valley. The route inevitably passes by the Spy Man's cave and the museum dedicated to him.

A peaceful walk, both rural and countryside, along the banks and immediate surroundings of the Mehaigne and its tributary, the Soile, between the villages of Avin and Meeffe, passing through Ambresin. The most pleasant section is undoubtedly the one that runs alongside the Mehaigne (known asthe"Sentier de la Mouhagne"), but the country lanes, lined with tall hedges that provide ideal shade along the route, also have their charm.

A varied walk from the heights of the commune of Ombret, leading to the banks of the Meuse, which you can cross via the new cycle and footbridge at the Ampsin-Neuville lock and its facilities, including the original fish ladder. The return journey takes you through the Neuville-sous-Huy and Saint-Lambert national forest.

A varied walk starting on the Meuse hillside and then, after a steep climb, reaching the Solières stream valley. The return journey is via the Grand Henimont and Gives woods.

Discover a viewpoint above a bend in the Semois river at Bohan. The route starts from the hamlet of Terne, above Vresse. After passing the viewpoint, the route winds along the top of the Semois hillside to reach the Col de Conrad and then the Flachi Chapel.

A varied hike starting from the banks of the Meuse, tackling the wooded slope of the Boussale stream. The walk continues towards Coutisse, crossing the Bois de Passe Peau and then the Bois de Heer, with a detour via the Moulin de Kevret.

Starting from Bois d'Ohey, the route leads to the Struvaux stream and its many "little bridges", then through the woods to the hamlet of Strud and back via Haltinne, on a more open route. The trails are embellished with a few works of art; moreover, (re)discovering Haltinne Castle is always a pleasure!
