Departure from the car park opposite the small Sint-Pierterskerk church, Sint-Pieterstraat, 3792 Voeren. Clockwise.
(S/E) Facing the church, turn right into Sint-Peterstraat and follow it to the edge of the village. As this street curves to the left, turn right at the crossroads (before the bus shelter) onto the concrete footpath. Follow it to the end, keeping to the left at the small intersection. The path leads to a street (Veurs) which you follow downhill to the right for 300 metres.
(1) At the electricity substation (stone tower), turn left down the street. This street continues as a dirt track lined with bushes. It crosses a stream, then turns right (going around the entrance to the railway tunnel). At the intersection, turn left and continue between the meadows until you reach the road (at a house). Go up the road on the right for about 60 metres until you reach a right-hand bend.
(2) Turn left into the vineyard and walk straight up, perpendicular to the slope. At the top, at the edge of the woods, turn left for 50 metres and then enter the woods. Follow the path uphill to the tarmac road (De Plank). Follow the road to the right until the end. It leads to a larger road, which you should follow straight on until the next intersection. Then turn right into the cul-de-sac (De Plank, nos. 77-85). This continues along a farm track, then a path that crosses fields and ends at a road (Konenbos) near a house ('t Voerboertje, ice cream shop).
(3) Take the road on the right, along the woods, for about 50 metres and, just before the white house (no. 3), go down the steep slope on the path along the woods and meadows. At the bottom, turn left onto the path below the woods.
(4) Keep left at the next intersection and start climbing into the woods. At the top, continue through the woods, ignoring the paths on the left that lead back to the main road. Continue to the end of the path (campsite visible).
(5) Turn right down a slight slope and continue to the tarmac road. When you reach it, turn left for a few metres, then immediately right (still downhill) onto the small tarmac road. This soon leaves the woods and climbs back up towards the hamlet of Kijs.
(6) Before the lodge, turn right between two hedges and cross the meadow towards the footbridge at the end (aim for the upper part of the woods, which is further forward). After the footbridge, the path continues directly along a farm track through an orchard of low-stemmed trees, which re-enters the woods after 450 m. At the fork, keep left and continue straight ahead through the woods (alongside the farm buildings, which are slightly off to the side).
(7) As the path runs alongside a meadow planted with tall trees and the bottom of the wooded valley, ignore the path leading off to the right and take the one that, after about 20 metres, branches off to the left and climbs the slope in a straight line. After 300 metres, at the top, it leads to a straight forest path, which you should follow to the right. At the end, the path begins to descend the valley and leads to Sint-Peterstraat, which you should follow to the right to reach the car park (S/E).
