Loop of the ponds in Beulotte-Saint-Laurent
A variety of trails, some of which run through the woods, and forest paths will take you from the picturesque village of Beulotte-Saint-Laurent to the Plateau des Grilloux, passing through the hamlet of La Grande Rocholle. You will walk through a hilly landscape of peat bogs and ponds. On the way back via the long circuit, you will discover the remains of the old Moulin du Hanneau mill and take the small road that runs alongside the Ruisseau du Beuletin stream to return to the village.

This is a lovely, easy route that allows you to admire around sixty ponds. Information boards help you discover and understand how these ponds were formed and are used. Much of the route is on small paved roads.
This route is partly based on signposts in the field, so be sure to follow the description carefully.
"Les Grilloux" route on the Grilloux Plateau
Located in the heart of the 1000 Étangs region, this route is suitable for both hikers and mountain bikers. From the Plateau des Grilloux, where you can picnic, you will discover magnificent views of the Ballon de Servance and a multitude of ponds that make this region a unique natural site. We guarantee that your hike will be unforgettable!
Little Finland on the Plateau des 1000 Étangs
Between peat bogs and ponds, forests and meadows, you will discover the immense biodiversity of the Plateau des 1000 Étangs.
The 1,000 ponds plateau in Beulotte-Saint-Laurent
A short family hike with no significant elevation gain, allowing you to discover the typical landscapes of the 1000 ponds plateau.
Circuit des Noirs Étangs
Starting at the Étang Noir and its lookout point, the trail leads from pond to pond, skirting a peat bog and crossing a pond on a wooden bridge leading to a chalet, making for a shady and very easy walk. As a bonus, there are lovely views of the Vosges mountains and the Thillot valley.
Esmoulières circuit
An easy route that runs alongside numerous ponds. Very pleasant in the October sunshine, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful colours of our forests as they turn golden and purple.
Please note, however, that there is a short section on the road (with little traffic).
The Esmoulières route via La Saulotte
As you wander along old paths and small roads, you will enjoy a landscape of moors, meadows and forests interspersed with streams and ponds. You will pass through small hamlets with houses characteristic of the Plateau des 1000 Étangs. A remarkable and unique natural heritage to discover.
Circular Tour of the Belles Filles from Servance
Like a Tour de France climber!
If you enjoy sporting challenges, then La Planche des Belles Filles is for you! Now a legendary climb in the Tour de France and a real challenge for cyclists, it offers a demanding ascent and spectacular views. At 5.9 km long with an average gradient of 8.5% and an elevation gain of over 600 metres, this demanding climb leaves no one indifferent.
But before that, you'll have to tackle the Col des Chevrères and its steep gradients (an 8 km climb with an average gradient of 6.5% and sections of 12%), then return to Servance via the Ballon de Servance... an 18 km climb with an average gradient of 5% and sections of 12%.

Ballon de Servance
Hike to Ballon de Servance.Please note that for this hike, you will need two vehicles, one at (S) at the Col des Croix andthe other at the Sources de Presles reservoir (E). The path leading directly up to the Ballon is a quiet zone and is closed from 15 December to 14 July. See notices
Col des Croix
Hike on the border of the Vosges and Haute-Saône with magnificent panoramic views of the village of Château-Lambert, the upper Ognon valley, the upper Moselle valley and the plateau of a thousand ponds.
Circular of the ponds from Le Thillot
A beautiful, varied short hike that will take you past a dozen ponds straddling the watershed between the North Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
La Rosière - Le Roseria
This route offers numerous views of the surrounding valleys. You will pass near the Fort de Rupt, discover a few crosses and admire some old farms.
The Bois d'Arfin
Starting from La Mer, more precisely from the Pause Paysage "Au fil de l'eau", you will discover the small paths connecting the various localities and hamlets located between Faucogney and Esmoulières. Small paths through woods and undergrowth will lead you to ponds, streams and Saône-style farms with carts. The highlight of the route is the Étang d'Arfin, the largest pond on the Plateau des 1000 Étangs (21 hectares).

A short, very accessible walk offering beautiful views of the 1,000 ponds plateau.

Loop on the Haut de Belué
A short but very beautiful hike to the summit of Haut de Bélué, 870 m high. It overlooks the Grandrupt valley and offers a superb panorama of the Haute Moselle valley, dominated by the silhouettes of the Alsace and Servance balloons. The site features a forest chalet open to the public, a children's play area, picnic tables and an orientation table with a view of the Vosges ridges.
La Mer Circular Route
The sea in Haute-Saône! The Mer circular (no. 4) will prove it to you!Discover the villages of Faucogney (a Burgundy-Franche-Comté town of character) and Mélisey. This route also takes you on a journey of discovery through the Plateau des 1000 Étangs, particularly near the villages of Écromagny and La Mer.
"La Petite Finlande" circular from Faucogney-et-la-Mer
The Petite Finlande circular route will reveal the unique landscapes of the 1000 Étangs, an exceptional setting in the Vosges Mountains.Between peat bogs, ponds, forests, mountains and meadows, you can admire the immense biodiversity of the Plateau.You can also discover Faucogney-et-la-Mer, a Burgundy-Franche-Comté Town of Character, the picturesque little village of Beulotte-Saint-Laurent, the typical farms of the Southern Vosges, and the crosses and calvaries (500 are listed in the 1000 Étangs area).The Mer (no. 4) and Belles Filles (no. 21) circulars share sections with the Petite Finlande circular. You can therefore adapt the route to suit your needs and make it more challenging.
Electric bikes can be hired from the Tourist Office in Faucogney.
"Le Mont du Breuchin" circular from Faucogney-et-la-Mer
Starting from Faucogney-et-la-Mer, the route climbs to La Voivre towards the ruins of the Annegray monastery, the first foundation on the European continent by the Irish monk Saint Columbanus in the6th century.The paths then take you on a journey of discovery through the forests, ponds and farms typical of the 1000 Étangs and the Southern Vosges.
Trail des Monts Rocheux
Starting from Faucogney, this trail route will allow you to discover the natural and cultural heritage of this charming town in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Starting from Place du Champ de Foire, you will reach Saint-Martin Chapel and its cemetery overlooking the valley. You will then set off to explore the ponds of the Oroz area, which bear witness to the rich fauna and flora of the region of 1,000 ponds. The end of the route will take you to the Rochenoz viewpoint.
Le Circuit du Rochenoz à Faucogney
This circular takes you through the woods to discover the wonderful forest landscapes of the Southern Vosges. The view from Rochenoz is unforgettable! Don't leave without taking a thorough tour of the Falconian village, a Burgundy Franche-Comté Town of Character! Restaurants and shops in Faucogney.
The surroundings of Melay
On varied paths with many shaded areas, this route will allow you to discover the western part of the commune of Ternuay-Melay-et-Saint-Hilaire.
At Les Noyes, you will walk alongside a magnificent pond covering more than 6 hectares. Numerous calvaries, witnesses to the past, mark this circuit.
"Le Beuletin" circular from Faucogney-et-la-Mer
After the Breuchin plain followed by a beautiful climb, you will travel through the Beuletin valley and the unique landscapes of the 1000 Étangs with its stretches of water, peat bogs, viewpoints, small villages, crosses and calvaries. Then, at the end of the route, you will discover the site of the Saint-Martin Church overlooking the village of Faucogney. An unforgettable viewpoint!
On the peaks of the Ballon de Servance
Short hike on the Ballon de Servance hill with numerous viewpoints over the other hills of the Vosges, the Moselle valley and, on a clear day, the Bernese Alps. Ideal for a Sunday outing with afternoon tea at the chalet or an evening barbecue with friends.
From Belfahy to Miellin via the Saint-Blaise Chapel
This hike takes us through two typical villages in the land of a thousand ponds: Belfahy and Miellin.
Take a short detour to admire the Saint-Blaise Chapel and its spring with its saying: "eau de Saint-Blaise tout mal apaise" (the water of Saint Blaise soothes all ills).
The Brimbelles Trail from Belfahy
Perched at an altitude of 850 metres, the village of Belfahy is the highest in Haute-Saône and the Vosges Mountains. Starting from Place des Brimbelles, the route takes you to the Ballons Comtois Nature Reserve and the Col Sans Nom, at an altitude of 1,000 metres, before descending to the Chapel of St Blaise in Miellin and then returning to the Col des Chevrères.
Please note that the descent to the Chapelle Saint-Blaise is technically challenging (for experienced hikers).
Col de Morbieux - Grandrupt
A pleasant hike starting from the Col de Morbieux, with lovely views of the Grandrupt valley and the Moselle valley in Ferdrupt.
The Belfahy tour
In a superb setting 30 km north-east of Belfort between Servance and Plancher les Mines, this beautiful hike will allow you to discover Belfahy and its surroundings.
First of all, a very pretty, well-renovated village, surprisingly a Courchevel cabin, beautiful forests and, to finish, superb views.
In Le Ménil-Thillot: Tête des Champs, Chapelles de la Salette and Chapelles de Pitié
A superb four-hour walk in the hills above Ménil-Thillot (between Cornimont and Le Thillot), best done in May or June when the meadows and broom are in bloom! This easy walk is an unforgettable foray into the bountiful nature of the Hautes-Vosges.
Geological and mining discovery from Plancher-les-Mines
This walk takes you on a journey through geological time and the industrial and mining past of the Rahin Valley. It starts off along an old miners' path where, if you look carefully, you can find samples of minerals that were previously used as fill (look for anything that sparkles).
Halfway along, it passes near the magnificent Goutte des Saules waterfall and its canyon.
The return journey is along the valley floor, offering views of La Planche des Belles Filles to the east.
Époissets route in Écromagny
Starting from Écromagny, this family route will charm you with the beauty of the sites it passes through, including the Viaux peat bog (a veritable Noah's Ark of plants), the remarkable Pellevin and Dame ponds, views of the Vosges mountains and traces of life in the past with the Bégeot mill. A change of scenery guaranteed! Once you've finished your hike, set off to explore the village with a 1.5 km discovery route.

From one pond to another in Girmont-Val-d'Ajol
A bucolic hike through the pretty village of Girmont-Val-d'Ajol. There are numerous ponds (often private) and paths, many of which are shaded. A few kilometres on quiet roads.
Goutte des Saules circular loop
This beautiful circular route will take you to the magnificent Rahin Waterfalls, a torrent that winds through the trees and rocks of the Saint-Antoine Forest. Most of the route is through the woods. You can visit the Saint-Antoine Cave and the viewpoint of the same name.
The ponds of Girmont-Val-d'Ajol
A beautiful walk through woods and countryside. You will discover a few ponds, magnificent panoramic views and a pretty waterfall.

Girmont Val-d'Ajol – the sources of the Rey
A beautiful hike that climbs and descends, sometimes steeply, on the way to a beautiful viewpoint, and climbs gently but steadily on the way back. Beautiful forest crossings and magnificent panoramas are the reward.
