Description of the route

Departure from Champ de Foire.

Mountain bike trail 50

(S/E) At the end of the car park, take Rue des Rivières, which runs alongside the Breuchin river and the old tanneries. When you reach the bridge over the river, take the D72 on the right, then Rue de la Petite Rochote (D236) on the left, towards Esmoulières for 1.5 km, and take the road on the left towards Les Clos. Reach the edge of the woods and a trailhead on the right.

(1) Take this path and climb into the woods. For 1 km, the slope is 10% to reach the hamlets of Saphoz le Haut, Miradaxer and Les Gourmands. At the first crossroads, turn right to reach Saphoz le Haut.

(2) Turn completely left, then stay on the right before going through the hairpin bends and continuing straight on to Les Évaux.

(3) Turn onto the road on the right, then onto the path on the left. The paths and small tarmac roads wind between ponds and meadows. At the end, you will arrive at the Étang des Breuches. Follow the top of the ridge to a road.

(4) Continue straight ahead, pass the hamlet of Les Gourmands and arrive at the right-hand bend that follows.

(5) Take the path on the left, then turn left at the road and continue straight on to No. 6 in Pré Temeloup.

(6) Take the path on the right that passes between the buildings and continues into the pastures. Take the road on the right and at the next crossroads, take the road (D236) on the right again. Continue until you reach a path on the left, a few metres before the houses of the hamlet of La Saulotte.

(7) Take the path on the left and follow it to the hamlet of Brumbief.

(8) Cross the hamlet, turning left, and you will soon come to a fork with No. 7 on your right. Set off opposite this house on the path lined with pastures. The small path takes you into the woods, then across a stone bridge (note the separation from the MTB route 51 - Le Plateau). The path climbs back up to join the Agiot.

(9) At the crossroads, turn left and follow a fairly technical descent for 1.5 km to reach Les Forges, keeping left at the intersection.

(10) Continue downhill to reach Beulotte-la-Guillaume at the small bridge over the Beuletin stream.

(11) Take the tarmac road on the left and continue straight ahead uphill for more than 1.5 km until you reach the crossroads at the top of the hill.

(12) Leave the tarmac road and take the stony path on the right towards the undergrowth. The path climbs for 400 m then descends to a road.

(13) Turn left onto this road to reach the hamlet of La Mer.

(14) When you reach the entrance to La Mer, take the path on the right and continue straight ahead, slightly to the left, enjoying the ponds on your left. At the crossroads at the end, turn left and then right towards La Marceline. After 1.7 km, join the road and follow it to the next crossroads with a stone cross.

(15) Continue to the right, then turn left. After 1.5 km downhill, join the road that descends to the right into the hamlet of Le Sceupt (commune of La Voivre).

(16) Go straight through the houses, then turn right and continue straight ahead to No. 60. Take the path on the left that goes up through the undergrowth towards the hamlet of Les Grémillons.

(17) Once you reach the farm, continue until you reach a tarmac road. Turn left and follow it for 500 metres, then turn left at the junction to reach Saint-Martin Church at the end of the road.

(18) After enjoying the magnificent view of the valley, return to Faucogney by taking "le Chemin des Morts" (the Path of the Dead), which descends to the left into the woods (opposite the cross). The path is quite steep and technical for about 1 km. Once you reach the bottom of the descent, head towards the housing estate on the left.

(19) Return to the departmental road and follow it to the right towards the village centre. Once you have passed the SEB factories, take the road on the left, Rue de Mollans, pass in front of the Collège Duplessis-Deville and continue straight on to reach the Place du Champ de Foire (S/E).
