Coming from Remiremont on the D57, take the D83 towards Girmont-Val d'Ajol for about 500 m and park on the left at the edge of the road next to the picnic area.
(S/E) Return to the D83 and cross it carefully to take the forest path opposite. After the Étang Houillon, which is completely fenced off, turn left.
Leave the Pranzieux pond on your left and reach a large forest road.
(1) Turn right and at the next fork turn left until you reach Étang de la Mollière, where you can dip your feet in the water.
(2) Continue along this beautiful path until you reach a small tarmac road near a horticulturist's. Continue along this little-used road. Pass through Moulin Picard (a pretty hamlet with fountains) and you will reach Girmont-Val-d'Ajol.
(3) After the church, at the restaurant, turn left. The road climbs and passes in front of the Saint-Vallier inn.
(4) About 200 m after the inn, leave the Anneau Vert trail and take a path that climbs to the left towards the Étang de l'Homme. This pond is more like a vast marsh.
(5) Pass the end of the Grand Étang de Corfaing while staying on the path. Cross a small road and continue on the path opposite. There are a few benches on this section until the next road.
(6) Continue along the path until you reach another road. Follow it to the right for 100 metres, then turn left until you reach the next crossroads, where there is a stone cross.
(7) Continue straight ahead on the well-marked path to the starting point (S/E).
