The Châtelet circuit starting from Fedrupt

Park near No. 18 Route Colline de Grandrupt.

(S/E) Set off to the left; at^{the first} junction, keep left to take the path leading uphill towards a farm. Follow the Blue Ring signposts. Go round the farm on the right. Then enter the forest and, after a circular bend, you’ll reach a track junction.

(1) Continue slightly to the left, still following the Blue Ring markings, until you reach a road.

(2) Head slightly downhill to the right, cross the Ruisseau de Ferdrupt, then at the next hairpin bend, continue left along the road. You’ll come to a house; continue along the path that follows on from the road. Then follow the Yellow Disc markings. You’ll reach another road.

(3) Take the road to the right, then immediately turn left to head towards Le Châtelet. Keep following the Yellow Disc signposting until, after a long, steady climb, you reach a multi-way junction at the summit of Le Châtelet and its mountain refuge.

(4) Here, leave the Yellow Disc markings and turn left onto the wide path marked with Blue Saltire signs. After the hamlet of Les Grèves, you’ll come to a crossroads.

(5) Continue to the right, off the marked trail, along the easier forest track and, at the junction in the hairpin bend, turn sharply left to rejoin the Blue Saltire trail.

(6) Turn right onto it and continue down the slope to return to the car park at No. 18 Route Colline de Grandrupt (S/E).

A walk suitable for all walkers, with no major difficulties.
