A beautiful rollercoaster route in the heart of nature. From woodland to plateaus, you will walk along paths on either side of the Aveyron between two remarkable medieval villages. The outward journey takes you along unmarked but easily recognisable paths that are rarely used. The return journey is entirely on theGR®46trail, marked in red and white, and is easy to follow.

Hike with elevation gain, marked in yellow at intervals, which will allow you to use the Hautpoul footbridge opened at the end of 2018 and cross the medieval village of the same name. There is a tricky section between points (6) and (7) where recent tree felling has more or less destroyed the mapped paths and removed the markers.

From the Conservatory Orchard to the oak groves of La Grésigne, walkers will follow the path the entire way. The Audoulou stream runs alongside parts of the route, providing welcome refreshment in summer. Some effort will be required as the route alternates between ascents and descents with very few flat sections.

Circuit to Gallic ruins offering a 360° view of the Sorèze plain.

This hike is very easy to follow, but bring sunscreen and water if you're doing it in the middle of summer!

From the rock village of Penne, the circuit takes hikers to the Suquets viewpoint. Countryside and forests share the multifaceted landscape of limestone cliffs. Steep climbs and descents will delight the more athletic walkers. The end of the route is a peaceful walk along the Aveyron river before a final short climb at the foot of the village.

Circuit around the Sales Plateau, on the border of the Aude, Tarn and Hérault departments. With its varied landscapes, it will appeal to lovers of wild places with its many Occitan crosses and superb panoramic views of the Montagne Noire and the Minervois. View of the Pyrenees in good weather.

A beautiful route through the countryside, valleys and forests, leading from Larroque to Puycelsi via Mespel and La Grésigne. Almost entirely on trails, in unspoilt natural surroundings. Some effort is required on a few climbs, but nothing that a motivated walker can't handle.

On the western edge of the Montagne Noire, this hike harmoniously combines historical remains and beautiful views. The Oppidum de Berniquaut, the excavations of medieval dwellings on the same site, a large standing stone with cup marks and the ruins of the Chapelle Saint-Jammes de Besauceles will delight history enthusiasts. Lovers of beautiful landscapes will also find something to satisfy them on this route, which overlooks the Sorèze plain from a height of over 300 metres.

Starting from the pretty site of the Arifat waterfalls, this hike alternates between forest passages and paths on gentle ridges where the view opens up over the surrounding mountains and valleys to offer beautiful panoramas, particularly stunning in autumn when the deciduous trees are ablaze with colour.

Lovers of bucolic landscapes will be enchanted by this walk through vineyards and woods. The rural panorama is punctuated by views of the bell towers surrounding Técou.

A beautiful hike to discover two picturesque villages in the Tarn: Larroque and Puycelci, a medieval fortress that is also one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Starting from the small village of Mauriac, this short hike, accessible to all, takes you through valleys carpeted with vineyards and small hills offering views of the Gaillac plain and, on a clear day, the Montagne Noire and even the Pyrenees. A few beautifully restored dovecotes and some noble residences adorn the route.

Just a few minutes from the centre of Gaillac, this is a peaceful walk, ideal for a half-day outing. The circuit passes through unspoilt countryside where vineyards, meadows and small woods share the space. In this landscape of rolling hills and valleys, a few beautiful houses and wine estates dot the route. Not to mention the views of the Montagne Noire and the Pyrenees on a clear day to top it all off.

A lovely loop that will take you through unspoilt nature, between valleys and hills. Woods and open landscapes punctuate the route until you return to a superb viewpoint over the remarkable isthmus of Ambialet, a splendid peninsula classified as a protected site since 1948. The priory dominates the bend in the Tarn and is the end point of the beautiful Way of the Cross that begins around the Saint-Gilles Chapel, nestled in the rock.

This is a brand new trail that complements the Vallées du Travet trail. Hike for nature lovers and fans of wild valleys who enjoy exploring off the beaten track and following unique private trail markers. Walkers who prefer well-marked trails should choose the Vallées Oniriques, published on Visorando. Please note: following a ban on trespassing on private property, the route now follows a tarmac road between points (3) and (5). Circuit around Cestayrols, a 12th-century fortified village, through the undergrowth and vine-covered hillsides.

A beautiful excursion for lovers of unspoilt wilderness. Almost the entire hike is on narrow paths, grassy or rocky tracks. The return journey is a rollercoaster ride, mostly through the Gorges du Viaur Sauvage.

A lovely walk in the Tarn countryside with a Tuscan feel. Beautiful views and two chapels to see along the way. Yellow signposts. Please note that changes are pending. Moderator's note 10 May 2024 Official modification of the route between point (12) and point (13) with new signage. Do not take the path towards the Bruguière farm. From point (12), follow the Sainte-Cécile road, pass the path leading to the farm but continue on the Sainte-Cécile road until you return to point (9). From the point (9), turn right onto the Pébrines road. When you reach the fork, take the right-hand branch. Continue until you reach the point (13).

From the banks of the Aveyron, this hike offers a breath of fresh air to those who enjoy walking in the woods and provides some lovely views along the way. At the start, the Rocher de Suquets offers a beautiful viewpoint over the fortified site of Penne and, on the way back, the descent to the hamlet of Amiel provides lovely views of the cliffs of the Gorges de l'Aveyron.

This is an easy hike, ideal for a half-day, which allows you to discover the beautifully restored houses of two small villages and takes you through hills and valleys, ending with a walk through part of the Gaillac vineyards.

The Lagarde Castle Trail offers unspoilt landscapes and lush greenery. Running alongside rivers, crops and meadows, crossing streams and brooks, this enchanting trail will take you to the Vère-Grésigne leisure centre.

From Larroque, a pretty village with a beautiful red ochre cliff in the background, we cross Mespel and Puycelsi for a lovely walk through the woods. Along the way, you can see beautiful buildings and local heritage sites.

Walk along the trail and discover reconstructed stone markers: cairns, drystone shelters and more. You will have a magnificent view of the Monts de Lacaune. From May to September, you can linger at the Maison de Payrac, a 19th-century farmhouse that has been restored in keeping with the lifestyle and objects of yesteryear.

This is a circuit combining the Dadou Sauvage, published on Visorando, and the magic of Arifat. A hike for nature lovers and fans of wild valleys who enjoy scrambling off the beaten track and following highly original private markings, culminating in a short loop around the Arifat waterfall. Please note! Following a change of ownership on a section of the route, it is ESSENTIAL to leave your GPS behind and FOLLOW the newly installed directional signs I will update the route as soon as I have retraced it.

Cordes... a magnificent Albigensian fortified town, to be discovered from the rolling trails of the Causse. PLEASE NOTE: The millstone caves are on private property and access is now prohibited.

This hike in the Vaour region, between Quercy and Albigeois, alternates between Celtic and Roman paths in a Causse landscape dotted with dolmens and numerous fountains. Several pretty villages: Saint-Michel-de-Vax, Roussayrolles and Peyralade have remarkable buildings. The Chemin des Amoureux (Lovers' Path) takes you up the Laudot valley toward Cammazes. You return on the GR7.

Starting from the hamlet of Saint-Martin d'Urbens, this hike alternates between beautiful passages in the woods and more open sections on the limestone plateau, offering beautiful views of the Vère valley. Two-thirds of this loop trail is off the beaten track and unmarked, making it ideal for hikers who enjoy peace and quiet in unspoilt, wild countryside.

This hiking trail follows paths steeped in history that were once important links in the Réalmontais region. It passes through two small villages: Sieurac, a charming village reminiscent of Tuscany, and Laboutarié, whose Occitan name (Botaria) means "cooper's workshop".

This circuit combines the pleasures of walking with those of a picnic by the water. The Sidobre rocks are a curiosity worth discovering. Lac du Merle is a haven of peace and enchantment where you can relax in the summer heat. It is a beautiful spot with rocks rising out of the water, giving you the feeling of walking on air.

Between the Tarn and Dadou valleys, this is a beautiful hike in the hills of Parisot. On a clear day, there is a beautiful view of the Pyrenees at the end of Chemin de la Brogne. The hike is marked in yellow and maintained by the Association du Patrimoine de la commune de Parisot (Parisot Heritage Association).

A beautiful, undulating route that passes through four places dedicated to the four saints of Dourgne: Saint-Macaire and his healing spring, Saint-Stapin the giant, Saint-Chipoli or Saint-Hippolyte, Saint-Ferréol and his Capelette.

This is a beautiful route combining countryside, valleys and forests. Nothing but trails in unspoilt countryside. There are a few challenging climbs, but they are very rewarding and everyone will appreciate them for what they are.

This short loop is a nice family ride for those who prefer flat terrain. It alternates between roads and paths on the plateau east of Fénols.

In ancient times, the monks of Bonnecombe Abbey, near Rouergue, used the "Chemin des Moines" (Monks' Path) to transport various products they grew around a barn south of Castanet. This path crosses a landscape of groves, vineyards and traditional buildings that make up the hillsides of Albi. This route is a shortened version of the official 21 km trail.

This magnificent and surprisingly unexpected circuit takes place on the outskirts of Albi. Its undergrowth, meadows and small rollercoaster-like hills will quickly make you forget the 900 m of road at the start. The trail takes you down to the Lézert, passing through Puech Miral and Puech Mège, where you can discover the ruins of the Château de Labastide-Vassals and its mill. You will walk through a wild and invigorating landscape.

A circuit with magnificent landscapes, ideal for lovers of beautiful photos.Along the way, discover the Lac des Saints-Peyres. Halfway back, enjoy Mediterranean scenery all along the Arn.

This is a round trip to visit the hilltop village of Hautpoul, discovering the Mazamet footbridge that leads there. The footbridge offers breathtaking views of the Arnette valley. This route takes you along the Chemin de la Jamarié, an old salt road and Roman road, until you reach the footbridge.

An excursion in the coolness of the Andouquette. You will be charmed by this stream that will accompany you all along its gorge. You will be surrounded by unspoilt nature.

The Las Planques chapel is a remarkable example of southern Romanesque art. It is nestled on a rocky promontory in the middle of the woods and majestically overlooks the Viaur Gorges. This long loop is less difficult to access than the one from Pampelonne (published on Visorando). Although classified as moderately difficult, you need to be reasonably fit to cover the distance and tackle the rollercoaster ride of the Viaur.

The loop represents a journey through history on the heights of Pont-de-l'Arn. On the plateau, a path, water and memories... This circuit passes through the open hills overlooking Pont-de-Larn. The Pas des Bêtes lake reveals itself in a wooded, fairy-tale setting. The journey ends with two menhir statues standing at the side of the path, witnesses to a civilisation from the late Neolithic period.

Starting from the small village of Fayssac, this easy hike takes place in gently rolling countryside where cultivated fields, meadows and vineyards share the landscape. On a clear day, the view stretches as far as the Montagne Noire and the Pyrenees. The route alternates between wide paths and small, mostly quiet tarmac roads, which do nothing to detract from the feeling of calm and tranquillity that prevails throughout.

This is a lovely walk through the vineyards and fields of Briatexte, ideal in winter. Dotted among the valleys and hills are pigeon lofts and distant bell towers. The few sections of road do not detract from the charm of these rural landscapes.

A beautiful, small but challenging unpaved circuit for a half-day of physical exertion. Although classified as moderately difficult, you will need to be reasonably fit to tackle the rollercoaster ride of the Viaur. Woods, water, views and old stones are here for your viewing pleasure.

A lovely climb up a steep gorge leads to the dry grasslands of the Désert de Saint-Ferréol, where La Capelette stands proudly overlooking a vast landscape.

Starting from the village centre, this beautiful loop takes you north of the village through a varied landscape of hills to the hamlet of Ardialle and through Saint-Jean before climbing back up to Puylaurens. Can be done on foot or by mountain bike. Yellow markings.

On the right bank of the Tarn, Castelnau-de-Lévis is a walk between ridges, plateaus and hills with remarkable views of the surrounding valleys. A beautiful architectural heritage of half-timbered houses, dovecotes, crosses and a castle.
