Park in the small square next to Castanet church.
(S/E) With your back to the church, take the Route de Castanet south towards Gleyse Vieille. Pass the cross and continue to elevation 225.
(1) Take the wide dirt track on the left. Pass a water reservoir and you will come to a road at Champ Rouge.
(2) At the road, turn left and continue for about 50 m. At the end of the hamlet, walk a few steps into the cul-de-sac on the left to take the path. When you reach the D33, cross it and continue straight ahead until you reach a crossroads in front of a vineyard.
(3) Zigzag first right then left to follow the vineyard. After passing through the meadows, follow a second vineyard. At the Pérayrol road, cross it and continue straight ahead. Leave the Xaus service road to reach the D600. Cross the departmental road very carefully.
(4) Take the path on the left, which has been made for hikers. At the corner of the house, turn right onto the wide track and follow it to the first crossroads. Turn left towards La Bartharié. Note the remarkable dovecote.
(5) Cross the large farm. Stay on this track until you reach the junction at elevation 276.
(6) Continue straight ahead on Chemin de Peyrole, pass the farm of the same name and arrive at a crossroads.
(7) Follow the road to the left for 250 m, then turn left onto the path. Pass under a power line and you will reach the road, Chemin de Pradals.
(8) Take this road on the left to cross the hamlet. Find the Vère.
(9) Cross the bridge over the stream. Reach Lobre and leave the village.
(10) Go up the path opposite. Go around La Ménonie. Return to the D600 and cross it again, taking care.
(11) Continue along the grassy path opposite. At the Lieur three-way junction, take the stony path on the right. Cross the hamlet and arrive on the D25.
(12) Make a zigzag left-right turn (20 m). Find the three-way junction in a bend.
(13) Take the right, pass Le Pigné and immediately turn onto the path on the left. Follow the vineyard and continue to the track. Turn right. Further on, ignore a road coming from the left and continue for 50 m.
(14) Turn onto the path on the left. Stay on this path until you reach a Y-junction at the entrance to the alluvial plain.
(15) Take the left fork. Follow the vineyards until you reach the bottom of the valley at the T-junction.
(16) Turn left and continue for about 120 m. Turn right onto the road going uphill. At the fork in front of the Colombié, take the hairpin bend to the right. You will reach the car park of Castanet church (A/D).
