Park in the small square next to Castanet church.
(S/R) With your back to the church, set off along the Route de Castanet heading south towards Gleyse Vieille. Pass the cross and continue to the 225m mark.
(1) Take the wide dirt track on the left. Pass a reservoir and come out onto a road at Champ Rouge.
(2) At the road, turn left and walk for about 50 metres. As you leave the hamlet, take a few steps down the cul-de-sac on the left to join the path. When you reach the D33, cross it and continue straight ahead until you reach a crossroads in front of a vineyard.
(3) Make a zigzag to walk alongside the vineyard. After passing through the meadows, walk alongside a second vineyard. At the road to Pérayrol, cross it and continue straight on. Ignore the turn-off for Xaus to reach the D600. Cross the main road very carefully.
(4) Take the path on the left, which has been laid out for walkers. At the corner of the house, turn onto the wide track to the right and walk to the first junction. Turn left towards La Bartharié. Note the remarkable dovecote.
(5) Cross the large farm. Stay on this track until you reach the junction at the 276m mark.
(6) Continue straight on along Chemin de Peyrole, pass the farm of the same name and arrive at a crossroads.
(7) Follow the road to the left for 250 m, then turn onto the path on the left. Pass under a power line and reach the road, Chemin de Pradals.
(8) Take this road to the left to cross the hamlet. You will come to the Vère.
(9) Cross the bridge over the stream. Reach Lobre and leave the village.
(10) Head up the path opposite. Go round La Ménonie. Return to the D600 and cross it again, taking care.
(11) Follow the grassy path opposite. At the three-way junction of Lieur, take the stony path on the right. Cross the hamlet and arrive on the D25.
(12) Make a zigzag (20 m). Look for the three-way junction at a bend.
(13) Take the right-hand fork, pass Le Pigné and immediately take the path on the left. Walk alongside the vineyard until you reach the track. Turn right. Further on, ignore a road coming from the left and walk for 50m.
(14) Turn onto the path on the left. Stay on this path until the Y-junction at the entrance to the alluvial plain.
(15) Take the left-hand branch. Walk alongside the vineyards until you reach the bottom of the valley at the T-junction.
(16) Turn left and walk for about 120 m. Turn right onto the ascending path. At the fork in the road in front of Le Colombié, take the sharp right-hand bend. Return to the car park at Castanet church (A/D).
